NCAA FB Week 1 LD - 'Showdown at Jerryworld'

I didn't say it as 100% fact but it is my personal opinion and it's backed up with facts. Michigan brought back the majority of their team and are in the second year under Brady Hoke. State lost their starting qb and their top 3 receivers. No offense to Boise but they are no where near what they usually are. They lost a 4 year starter at qb, their starting running back who was a first round pick, and the biggest loss was 10 of their 11 defensive starters. Even with Bell going over 200 yards the State offense put up only 17 points at home against a defense that lost 10 starters. Andrew Maxwell looked like dog shit in his debut. We have to wait until Oct 20th to know for sure, but I am very confident that this is the year Michigan stops State's little run over them.

Michigan looked horrible against Bama but that's because Bama is the defending National Champions and arguably the best team in the country. Remember what happened 2 years ago when State met up with Bama? It was an even bigger butt fucking to the tune of 49-7. I'm not going to get overly concerned about Michigan's performance considering this was a game I knew Michigan was going to get run.
Not my argument, but there are gaping holes in your logic here.

It's all personal opinion. The facts are with MSU, if you're not being biased.

Michigan brought back the majority of their team and are in the second year under Brady Hoke.

They brought back a decent running game, a decent defense and a good coach. They also brought back the most overrated QB in the history of the Big Ten. He's awful.

State lost their starting qb and their top 3 receivers.

Yep.

No offense to Boise but they are no where near what they usually are. They lost a 4 year starter at qb, their starting running back who was a first round pick, and the biggest loss was 10 of their 11 defensive starters.

No one said they're title contenders. However, completely shutting out one of the most explosive offensive teams in recent history, even with a younger roster, is a big deal, especially on a national stage.

Even with Bell going over 200 yards the State offense put up only 17 points at home against a defense that lost 10 starters. Andrew Maxwell looked like dog shit in his debut.

You said it - his debut. Maybe he'll be good, maybe he'll be great, maybe he'll suck. Either way, it's his first start. Usually a QB in his position gets a few warm up games (CMU, Eastern, Western, etc). He didn't have that chance. No big deal, I'm sure he'll be decent (and that's all he needs to be).

What's Denard's excuse for being as awful as he is? Maybe I wouldn't hate on him so much if the media would calm down. He's not a good quarterback. Against a decent defense, he isn't that great of a runner, either. Being fast and being a great runner are two very different things.

We have to wait until Oct 20th to know for sure, but I am very confident that this is the year Michigan stops State's little run over them.

"Little run?" :lmao:

MSU has built a program. Mark Dantonio has BUILT a program. They recruit, they consistently win, etc. The U of M arrogance never ceases to amaze me, it really doesn't.

Michigan looked horrible against Bama but that's because Bama is the defending National Champions and arguably the best team in the country.

Good deal. Just goes to show Michigan is not a contender for the BCS crown. A lot of Michigan nutjobs actually thought that #8 ranking meant something. It didn't, and I'm glad 'Bama helped prove that.

Also, how much did 'Bama lose? Quite a bit, actually. Oh, but they reload... just like Boise, yeah?

Remember what happened 2 years ago when State met up with Bama? It was an even bigger butt fucking to the tune of 49-7.

MSU wasn't the preseason #8 team in the country. I don't blame Michigan for the ranking, obviously. I do, however, laugh at the fan base and their idiotic bullshit. First they wanted rid of Lloyd for something "exciting." How'd that work out? Then they wanted rid of Rich Rod. Didn't even give the guy a chance to get the kind of players he needed to run his system. Booted him for doing EXACTLY what they wanted him to do - turn that team into something completely different than most were used to. Now they have Lloyd Jr. Awesome coach, though. I hope the alumni doesn't turn on him after he misses the national championship game.

Fucking dumb, the whole bunch of them. I hate this sense of entitlement Michigan fans feel. Get it through your thick skulls - shit HAS changed. The Big Ten, AND UofM are no longer the big dogs.

Rant almost over. Sorry, not all Big Sexy's fault. I just hate Michigan fans this year, especially those bagging on State's VICTORY. They WON the game, for Christ sakes. They have a top ten defense. Top ten in the NATION, and Michigan fans are butt hurt. Maybe this is MSU's year to lose to Michigan (tough stretch of the season, wouldn't shock me). But saying Michigan is better is laughable, at least right now.

I'm not going to get overly concerned about Michigan's performance considering this was a game I knew Michigan was going to get run.

Most didn't

Until Michigan can end the season with a better ranking AND beat Michigan State, State has the better football team. That's from someone who despises BOTH teams equally (and was rooting for both teams this week due to his disdain for the SEC and also the notion that Boise State is a dominant team).
