[Lowdown]

Nice double-header today with both USC and UCLA both winning. Very nice comeback for the Bruins against Nebraska, and the Trojans looked to have finally found their offense, but they need to stay consistent. They have some tough games coming up with Arizona, AZ State, and Notre Dame.

Not much of interest this week, besides a wild game down in Blacksburg, VA

UCF giving the Old Ball Coach and his Gamecocks all they can handle and then some. Up 10-0 at half, and So. Car's O looks quite inept.

And after scoring a TD and having a chance to take a lead, South Carolina loses the ball on another fumble and UCF starts at about midfield.

Ok. State, meanwhile, has scored to make it only a 3 point game.

Either way, NIU goes undefeated in their non-conference schedule for the first time since 2003 and beat 2 Big 10 teams in a season for the first time ever.

I know, I was more just acknowledging how bad Purdue really is. Hazell's gonna have a lot of work ahead of him.

Now Iowa remains to be seen. Much better than Purdue obviously, but are they in the bottom half or top is the question.

Their logo is on the row of logos at the top of the screen, and they are on the standings for the conference.

As such, they are just as much a member of the B1G as Michigan and Ohio State. Just like Mississippi State and Arkansas are SEC schools.


Oh, and Notre Dame lost again. They miss Everett Golson. Big time. Tommy Rees is not a guy you can be comfortable relying on all season long.

Now the question becomes does a 1 loss SEC team still get into the title game even if OSU and FSU go undefeated. I say no, but its definitely in play.

At least theres a decent undercard with Bedlam and the SEC Championship to get me there. But man, even without having the pressure of having a National Title appearance on the line (and a likely bid to the Rose bowl either way) I'm still a bit nervous.

Oh how I hope for carnage. I don't think Duke has much of a chance against Florida State but Michigan State could sneak up on Ohio State. If that happens, cue the insanity which makes it all the more awesome.
