**MERGED** Summerslam 2012 Discussion- KEEP IT ALL IN HERE!

I just want to take a second to talk about the rumored Summerslam main event of Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton. If done correctly, this match, or at least the build, could be great. There is so much history here between them without the two having really ever crossed paths. This year's Summerslam will be the 10 year anniversary of Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Title from The Rock. At the time, Brock had become the youngest WWE/World Heavyweight Champion in company history. Two years later, in '04, Randy Orton wins the title at Summerslam and dethrones Brock as the youngest champ. Now 10 years later Brock is back looking to reclaim his spot as the face of the WWE. After he beats Cena at Extreme Rules, as most assume he will, Brock targets Orton for taking his spot in WWE history. The storyline practically writes itself and it is rooted in logic. With some proper booking this match has money written all over it, and hopefully both guys can deliver between the ropes.

I for one am opposed to the re-packaged Superstars being placed in with Main event competition right away, nowhere to go but down. Anyhow I think good storylines could be accomplished using the current rosters for a better than average WWE SummerSlam PPV (If creative yanks their collective heads from their arses) My Idea would be an 8 match Card,

Sandow vs Jericho

Primo/Epico vs Uso's (Tag Titles)

Miz vs Daniel Bryan (US Title Match)

Tensai vs Brodus Clay (IC Title)

Brock vs HHH

MITB Match: Barrett vs Swagger vs Christian vs Ryback vs Dibiase vs Santino vs Kane vs Del Rio

Sheamus vs Cena (WHC Match)

Dolph Ziggler w/Mason Ryan vs Randy Orton vs CM Punk(WWE Title)

At Over the Limit there is a Fatal 4 Way Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. If Jericho wins the World Heavyweight Championship have him hold it till No Way Out. Then Christian returns as a face and we have a Chris Jericho vs Christian fued which WWE can continue till SummerSlam. They can build up the fued going back to Wrestlemania 20 when Christian defeated Chris Jericho.

Then at Summerslam 2012 have Chris Jericho vs Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship. Like this idea? Have yours? Discuss ?

I will admit, I've only been watching wrestling about 5 years. So I never got to see Christian and Jericho's feud. So for me, this is a feud of a lifetime. My favourite 3 since I've been watching wrestling are Christian, Jericho and Edge. And honestly, I would love to see this. I could build Christian back into the main event, and I think he is a much better face than heel.

I very much doubt a Jericho win, because he's going soon for his Fozzy tours. Just look at the World Heavyweight title picture, and tell me there is room for Christian. You got: ADR, Jericho, Orton, Sheamus and a soon returning Barrett.

I personally think that Christian will come back with his 'one more match' stuff, and get it at CM Punk's WWE title. Sheamus/Christian has already happened last year, and I doubt WWE will revisit it this soon. Sadly, I think Christian will fail at attaining the WWE title, and will then be thrown down the card to random meaningless matches on RAW, and possibly midcard feuds with guys like Ryder and Santino.

I would like to see Christian return and team with Jericho. Christian and Chris Jericho are one of my all time favorite tag teams and I would love to see them carry the belts for a while.

I would like to see them trade the belts with Kofi and Truth a few times before ultimately putting them over clean. After that feud Christian and Jericho can break up and feud, and Jericho can put over Christian on his way out the door.

Not gonna happen, at least not anytime soon. Jericho is in the WHC match at OTL for the purposes of adding not only a quality wrestler to the match but his name as well. It's extremely unlikely that he walks out of the ppv as World Heavyweight Champion.

Jericho is going to be leaving soon to go on tour with his band Fozzy and will be gone for much of the summer. He's going to be returning after his tour is over, but he probably won't be part of SummerSlam. I'm can't remember exactly when Jericho is going on hiatus to tour with Fozzy, but it's sometime in the near future I believe.

A feud between Jericho & Christian would be a lot of fun to see, but I have the distinct feeling that WWE is building towards Sheamus vs. Orton at SummerSlam for the WHC. On top of all that, it's looking like Christian is still dealing with issues regarding his ankle. He was pulled from WrestleMania because of it and he's hardly been seen since. There might be somethng else going on, I dunno, but I'm guessing his ankle is still giving him problems.

Very unlikely scenario. I highly doubt that Jericho will win at OTL. Also, him feuding with Christian is not exactly a main-event feud. I'd rather see Sheamus vs Orton for the WHC and Christian vs Y2J as a mid-card feud (preferably over the IC title).

I highly doubt this will happen. Jericho was added to Over The Limit to make star power just like Orton. Sheamus will retain. Besides Wade Barrett will be in the World Title picture come Summerslam. But I do love the idea of Jericho vs Christian. Very under-rated feud from 2004 in my opinion. Had solid matches at Wrestlemania, Backlash, The Cage on Raw and one of my favourite ladder matches at Unforgiven.

But the amount of times this site says Christian is coming back on Smackdown this week has being going for the past few weeks...

Hoping for a stellar card, as I'll be attending the event. I was excited about the idea of Lesnar/HHH, but I really don't see how they can draw that feud out for 3 more months. Lesnar will likely be involved at Summerslam, though, hopefully in an in-ring capacity.

I expect Punk to still be involved in the WWE title match, but I'm not sure about the World Title. If Jericho steps away for a bit to tour, I can see them slowly building towards Orton/Sheamus, preferably w/Orton as the heel. A face/face matchup doesn't interest me. As for Punk's opponent, I'm calling Lesnar after he dismantles HHH @ NWO or MitB.

I'm not sure what the card will be, but I know the wwe will put a lot into this they see it as the #2 ppv and always give it a lot of build. I think the main event may be lesnar vs punk for the wwe title. I just don't see them dragging out the triple h vs lesnar feud for that long

Off the top of my head:

HHH vs. Brock Lesnar - This seems like the most obvious choice IMO, and they appear to have already begun booking towards this. Two of the biggest names in sports entertainment squaring off...not much else needs to be said, really.

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton in a World title unification match - With guys like Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho bouncing around between titles, having two world titles has become even more pointless than when the WWE decided to begin making Raw a SuperShow each week. SummerSlam is the perfect place to have the unification match, and Punk and Orton make the perfect rivalry.

Team WWE (John Cena, Sheamus, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston & Brodus Clay) vs. Team Johnny (Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, David Otunga, Lord Tensai & Daniel Bryan) - A 5-on-5 match, just like the one at Mania but with bigger names. If Johnny's team loses, he is fired.

Christian vs. Kane - This would be for the Intercontinental title.

Sin Cara vs. Rey Mysterio - This would be for the Cruiserweight title, with a Mask vs. Mask match happening on a later date

Layla vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Alicia Fox vs. AJ - This would be a fatal 4-way bikini match for the divas title.

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger vs. The Primetime Players vs. The Usos - This would be the fast-paced opener. The winners would be the #1 contenders for the tag team belts.

Daniel Bryan vs Kane (This is the way I'm thinking this goes tbh. Not sure who turns face)

Intercontinental Championship: Christian (c) vs Chris Jericho

United States Championship: Santino Marella (c) vs Alberto Del Rio (He'd have nothing better to do. Give Santino a rub and a fluky win)

Rhodes is taking time off, it would be stupid to push him that high in the 1000th episode. Major titles don't change like that anymore on RAW.....and why would anyone want Orton in yet another Championship match? That was played out like 3+ years ago....

The Miz (representing Teddy Long) vs Jericho (representing "Big Johnny") Round 2 I agree with it cause it will be a great match for both.

HHH vs Brock
We all saw what happened on Raw so where is a better place to settle up other then a Major

The Rock vs Big Show
With Shows new attitude have The Rock return (as rumor has it) & challenge the Champion & have him get interrupted & told he has to prove he deserve 1 against Big Show

Jack Swagger vs Dolph Ziggler
Tension has started to show between them & have it Zigglers final part of him going on his own.

CM Punk vs Daniel Brian (WWE Championship) Iron Man Match
Not many People can pull it off but I do believe that these 2 can and I can see them going back & forth till then

As of now that is all I can think of but was wondering what everyone else thinks.

I agree with every match on the card except for The Rock vs The Big Show Match and Cm Punk vs Daniel Bryan Match.

First of all i read That the rock will not be returning until 2013 so that means he will be missing Summerslam and Survivor Series, two of the big four. So i think after what Happened on Raw Brodus Clay will take some time off and then attack The Big Show after his obvious match with Cena at Money In The Bank, setting up a match between the two at Summerslam.

With the Cm Punk vs Daniel Bryan Match it sounds good but hopefully Wwe will see that at No Way Out it will be best putting the belt on Kane and he will start a feud with Cm Punk that will continue through Money In The Bank then end in a Inferno Match or something of that kind at Summerslam.

As for a World Heavyweight Championship Match which i see you did not add i hope to see Cody Rhodes Challenge Alberto Del Rio and win the Championship.

This is a good topic but very difficult. I think that the main event should and probably will be HHH v Brock. That would be a fun main event. I dont think Rock should be on the card, especially not against Big Show. Obviously Rock is the biggest star in the biz, save him for a massive Mania match like last year. The WWE product as a whole is lame. No point involving Rock with guys that arent in his league. Its not like the old days when he had great guys to compete with. I cant see how WWE will pull together an interesting Summer Slam card. Punk and Bryan are not big enough stars yet to headline a major PPV. I dont really care what they do with them.

Given that Big Show has replaced Tensai as Big Johnny's muscle, it makes sense to have him set his sights on Punk's WWE Championship. Punk continuously insults & disrespects Big Johnny, with last Monday on Raw being just the latest example, so trying to use Show to get the strap off Punk is a logical move. If they're able to make Show look strong in his feud against John Cena, it could prove interesting.

If they keep Show going like he's been going, which is as a destructive force, then his feud with Punk could be very entertaining. A lot of people wrote off his feud with Daniel Bryan initially, but it turned out to be really good and I've little doubt they could go the same David vs. Goliath route.

I wouldnt pay a dime to see big show in any main event match period. I really have felt this past 3 to 4 weeks of raw have been horrible. It seems like a down time right now to be. Ever since the brock storyline faded away, things just got very boring to me. Add orton being out for 60 days now and I just am not feeling anything I am watching lately. I never saw Big show as a main event guy and I still dont. He over acts and he is boring. One minute he is a monster, then he comes out smiling and becomes a face again. Same old Same old

If thats a main match for summerslam, I feel bad for that PPV.

Im gonna disagree wholeheartedly. We have seen Big Show faced Cm punk in the past. If you listened one of the VOW edition, nick mentioned about guys like big show and kane have lost their appeal and relevancy. No matter how much repackage and gimmick changes are done, people arent gonna perceive them any different.

In the words of Mark Madden. Cm Punk vs Show doesnt DRAW. Theres no MONEY. I need to see dollar signs$$$$$

Both Show and Punk have both had their fair share of matches with one another in the past and none were really special at all. I really hope they don't go with this match again at Summerslam. I'd much rather see something new like Punk vs Bryan vs Cena for the wwe title I'd really think that'd be a hell of a match. As for Show give him someone new like Brodus Clay or Ryback.

I really hope this does not happen because The Big Show just does not belong in the title picture, hopefully Cm Punk will Main Event Summerslam again this year against someone like Dolph Ziggler or Cody Rhodes.

I know a lot of people wont agree with me but i believe these two superstars are the most deserving of a title shot, i mean look at how hard they have worked since coming to the Wwe.
