**Merged** Smackdown Supplemental Draft - Discuss ALL PICKS Here!!

Nate DaMac

Fuck erbody but me
So tonight on Raw, we saw a lot of major shake ups. Cena goes to Smackdown, Orton goes to Smackdown, Cena goes back to Raw, etc. But lost in all of the commotion was the announcement that Sin Cara has been drafted to Smackdown.

Honestly, I'm at a loss with this. They moved Cara to Smackdown while taking away Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio, 2 guys that could certainly have guided him and helped him adjust to to the WWE style. Hell, he doesn't even have Primo to work with unless he goes in the Supplemental Draft tomorrow afternoon.

That being said, it isn't all bad. He still has guys like Justin Gabriel and Kofi Kingston to work with who are both capable of matching his speed I assume. I'm just not as confident that they could be as helpful as Rey and ADR could have been.

So what do you think about the move? Love it? Like it? Hate? Largely indifferent?

I'm largely indifferent. While Sin Cara might be the best thing since sliced bread, and I certainly hope he gets his chance to shine, I don't care much at all.
He's too new and unproven for me to form any lasting opinion on at this time.

I mentioned the possibility of him going to Smackdown in another thread that was concerned about him botching some moves. In the botching aspect, it makes perfect sense to move him to SmackDown, as they can edit the botches.

As for opposition, in addition to Gabriel and Kofi, Chavo Guerrero is on Smackdown and, if I were to take one possible supplemental draft pick from Raw to pair up with him, it would be Tyson Kidd. Tyson's not doing anything on RAW anyway, so that could be a good midcard feud on Smackdown, IMO. Cody Rhodes, fresh off his feud with Mysterio, could be a good matchup as well.

This is excellent for Sin Cara. His issue isn't as much learning the WWE style as it is other guys being able to work within his very quick, even after watering it down, style. Him being on SmackDown can get those botches edited out or shown with camera cuts that make them less noticeable until he and those he works with get to a place where he can go back to live TV. Plus, he can hold the Hispanic audience on SmackDown now that Rey and ADR are gone.

See, it makes sense. On RAW, he botches alot and has alot of mistakes. On Smackdown, it easier to edit out his botches.

I just think he's not really ready for the America stlye of wrestling, since he was a luchador and has little to no practice of the America, or WWE, style of wrestling. That's why they did a good job with Del Rio being in development for a while, he can learn the WWE style, Sin Cara has not and it's showing.

And please, lose the trampoline. It's a cool pyro spot, but it's gonna cost him a match or two down the line. Or a injury.

The Cara move to SmackDown made perfect sense. IMO it was planned since his debut to move him to SmackDown, I think they just started him on RAW to get people to see him first before moving him to SmackDown.

Although I did not think they would move both Alberto and Rey to RAW also. Those would of been like the two best people to have him in matches with. They both speak Spanish so they can communicate in the ring with Cara (who we still don't know if he even speaks any English) and they both know how to do the Lucha style so they would know what moves Cara is going for and be able to do them and sell them right.

The fact that he's making mistakes is WWE's fault more than his. The WWE ring is both bigger and constructed different than a lot of other rings out there and that's part of the reason for FCW(the other part being that most guys need to learn more than just new ring dimensions to be acceptable in the WWE).

Cara is doing fine for somebody that's learning on the job..and I can't tell if you're insulting him or not...but you shouldn't be. WWE should've given him some time in FCW or some more dark matches to get a handle on the different ring.

last night, IC25, like an idiot, suggested they tag team up Cara and Rey after Rey got drafted to RAW. Thats like, the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard.

The instant Rey came to raw, I muttered to the naked girl laying next to me "Welp, Sin Cara is going to Smackdown" She didnt know who Sin Cara was, or what Smackdown was, but I did. She agreed with me, and damn it, I was right.

They both have masks, they work a simulair style (in the eyes of the WWE anyway) they both appeal to the same demographic. Why on fucking earth would you waste that attraction on one segment per week, when you could keep them seperate and have both shows posess that feature.

Lots of young heel talent for Cara to put on fantastic fun matches with, and I think it was an excellent move. He is hugely over, and will be a big deal on SD. Cant wait to see how he is used.

Its a win for both sides, as the WWE can edit Cara's botches before they hit tv, and SD can benefit from getting one of the top 3 most over guys on the roster.

I think he went to smackdown so he can work under less pressure and become better and go back to raw. There was a lot of concern over botched entrances and moves from him and that may have been from the pressure of performing live. If he performs on smackdown there is much less pressure and he is less likely to botch moves and he will gain more experience. Then, once WWE sees his improvement, they will put him back on raw. If that was WWE's thinking, then i will be happy that they can do something right.... once in a while.:)

THANK FUCKING GOODNESS

loads of potential great matches, and maybe a repackaging of the character. My fucking hell I sure as shit hope so. The "Smark God" character was great, and definately his apex if overness.

Wide open for him to elevate, as either a heel or a face, and more time to work good wrestling matches on a weekly basis :worship:

Thank you WWE for doing something right, now that daniel bryan is on smackdown, he can stop jobbing to sheamus. Now he can chase the IC title maybe and have great matches with wade barrett. They have history together, they both were on NXT, in the original nexus and wade kicked him outtt so daniel bryan can work on that as a feud starter. Or the corre can attack him mid match and they can start their feud there, that is if members of the corre do not get drafted to raw.

LOVE this move. Daniel Bryan is a PERFECT fit for the more wrestling oriented Smackdown brand Loads of great matches and feuds that I would love to see. Daniel Bryan was lost in the shuffle on RAW and he needed a change of scenery and I really think that Bryan will excel on Smackdown.

Good Move. He was not going to be allowed to go anywhere on Raw. All he was going to do was be a US title contender plus a jobber to the main eventers on Raw. He shoud have some great feuds over on SmackDown, but it depends on who gets drafted to Raw.

I see some good Daniel Bryan for Wade Barrett matches coming out of this. I think it was a good move. I don't know who else there is for him to take on but right out of the gate i think Bryan vs Barrett is a good way to start.

Good move. He should get more time in his matches now. It sucks that we won't get to see a Bryan vs Punk feud now, which would have been fantastic. Too bad Punk had to get injured when it looked like it was going to happen last time.

Daniel Bryan/ Cody Rhodes feud please.

Really does anyone care? If he didn't bring in the India market I am sure he would of been released by now. They have to keep him as a face because he sells big in India. The only gimmick that works for him is the monster heel.

the only reason he was actually moved to smackdown was because they lack star power
and he has been known for botching moves
at smackdown there is less pressure on the performers because it is taped
so i feel sin cara will benefit more in the long run so he can get used to wwe style of wrestling

also they dont want rey and cara on the same brand

i see cara feuding with the corre for the intercontinental title

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK GOD!!!!
on raw Bryan got buried pretty much every week!
now i see him shinning and becoming a player!
due to the fact smackdown has a lack of star power
so i see younger talent being pushed more on smackdown
and imagine the matchs

Orton Vs Bryan

Sin Cara Vs Bryan

Christian Vs Bryan

Face vs Face
Face vs Face ?

Probably more like Bryan vs Barrett, Bryan vs Rhodes, and Bryan vs Mcintyre

I honestly don't care about him, he's horrible to watch but he might be ok in some respects such as fighting and putting over young heels like McIntyre and Rhodes and as long as he does that i'll be fine with him.

I hope this isn't a sign of a heel turn, that would be the worst thing to happen as we all know he doesnt have the talent to be a main eventer.

Well, with Daniel Bryan just drafted to Smackdown, I see a potential Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett fued over the IC title on Smackdown. They never really got see much ring time together and I think both of these guys could produce a good feud and match. Also a good way to get both guys over as I feel they have a long future in WWE.

any thoughts?

yeah i agree man,it would make a good feud,,but id really like to see barrett goin for the title, once the corree eventually come to and end,,you can see it comin

With rumors of his retirement that surfaced months ago, this seems like a strange draft pick. I guess Regal will be sticking around for a bit longer. What do you all think will be his new role, if any, on the program? Active wrestler? Manager? GM replacement for Teddy, perhaps?

As long as Regal gets more tv time, it doesn't really matter to me what his new role is. I'm a fan of the man and I think Smackdown is the perfect brand for him to be on since Smackdown has pretty much become notorious for being a sort of breeding ground for the young up and coming superstars before they get shipped off to the "bigger" stage on RAW. He'll do great as a mentor working with the younger talent. Also, with Daniel Bryan apparently being shipped off to Smackdown as well, I would LOVE to see a program between the two. They both had a solid match months ago on RAW so I would very much like to see another match or two between them.
