Living Colour to finally play CM Punk into Mania this Sunday

It was great.

However, I have a problem with the whole situation. CM Punk is a heel. You're asking the fans to boo CM Punk (and as such Living Colour). It's counterproductive to have live music for a heel. Cheering the music means cheering the heel (not good), and booing the wrestler means booing the band.

You make a fair and correct point, but I think the WWE realizes the position that Punk is in. Even as the best heel on the roster, he is going to have people who always cheer him, therefore they can get away with stuff like this.

Plus the band is touring in the area(so I hear) and it put another celebrity on the PPV.

I actually liked Diddy surprisingly. They placed him in a good position, he gave fans a breather of sorts. Living Color were alright, nothing on Motorhead's performance for Triple H at Mania 18.

I enjoyed both performances. Thanks to commercials I'd taken enough piss breaks and eaten enough by the time Puff Daddy took the stage. His set was surprisingly good and mercifully short. Living Colour's still got it *clap clap clapclapclap*

I'm not saying this isn't a much better way to do it because it is. Although I am sure they would have done it had ROH asked.

No they wouldn't. Punk using the theme in ROH didn't cause Cult of Personality to experience a serge in popularity. As in, it experienced a sixfold increase in sales in 2011. ROH doesn't have an audience big enough to make it worthwhile for Living Colour, or any large/notable band to to perform at their shows.

They played 21 when he faced Batista and i don't recall that being very good either.

So they were wrong 8 years ago. I fail to see why that matters here. They can be wrong twice, no problem.

Hell, Heel DX got played to the ring at Mania XIV, right? it was wrong then too (albeit the DX band sucked ass live and deserved boos). Heels are supposed to get booed, why do ANYTHING to make fans want to cheer?

Besides, they knew Punk as going to get a mixed reaction at the least anyway and it's not like Taker was ever going to get boo'ed. There was no risk at all.

Taker being booed was never gonna happen and is virtually irrelevant to the conversation. This is solely about the idea of booing Living Colour due to their relation to CM Punk.

I would agree but all I was saying was that they've already done it in the past and it has no effect on the match. Why would there be any trepidation about doing it again?

So you're just going to be a stubborn cunt and not acknowledge that there is no basis behind what you're saying. Who gives a shit if the heels get cheered? It was Punk, he already gets cheered to an extent and they were in fucking Jersey, it was a certainty. They wanted this match to feel huge and the entrances certainly helped.
