Jack "Kurt Angle" Swagger

I don't know exactly what the big deal about this is. So aspects of Kurt Angle's character are being adapted to Jack Swagger. So what? Number one, it's not as if the WWE is blatantly ripping off a character that was created by another big company. Which, even if they did, it's not as if that hasn't happened before, it'll almost certainly happen again and they're not the only company that's done such before. Number two, Kurt Angle's character is hardly an original creation as the American hero/patriot and/or athletic god is among the most well known and most overly used gimmicks/characters in all of wrestling history. The fact that Kurt Angle won an Olympic Gold Medal just added a bit that hadn't been there before.

lmao there is soo much idiocy in this thread. you gota guy a few posts up claiming Angle might come back JUST to put in check Swagger even though he had a complex departure from WWE. There are people calling the American character a gimmick in itself, you got people saying Angle owns it.. Based on the logic in this thread Angle ripped off Billy Jack Haynes then based on them both wearing American flag singlets.. I guess Angle is a rip off of Ken Patera because he was an Olympic Bronze medalist. I guess Angle, Lesnar, Swagger, and Benjamin were rip offs of Bob Backlund because they demonstrated collegiate/amateur abilities and prowess?! Goldberg is a rip off of Austin because we can only have 1 bald white guy in black trunks..

Jack Swagger is not unique but hes not a rip off either. I think his time in ECW better demonstrated it though.

I'm all for it. Swagger as himself, the dancing to the ring All American-American goofball who would do push ups to fireworks in his entrance, clearly could not be taken seriously by fans. That's not the image you want especially as a World Champion, which is why as soon as he won the title from Jericho, he instantly changed to being aggressive. WWE could use another 'American Hero' as it's been a long time since WWE had one especially to represent America against these foreigners (Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Drew McIntyre etc.) who are getting pushed to the top.
