You know, I used to watch movies like Super Troopers and Superbad and see the cops and think "no way real cops are that dumb". And with shows like COPS that just re-enforced it. But as of today, I just realized, we are protected by fucking morons.

Here's the story. A group of 20 inmates are picked for community service. Their assigned job is to cut grass on the side of roads. They are under officer supervision. OK. They are assigned to the area I live and cut around the area. Going by, i would see the cops doing absolutely nothing and if not they would be shooting the breeze with local folk. The day passes and today I learn 2 inmates ran off and are now fugitives running around the near by fields. My fucking backyard is a part of those fields. First they fail at finding who broke into our house and stole our Goddamn cell phones. Now two fugitives are running around somewhere in the neighborhood. Possibly my damn backyard. I don't care if they were booked for stealing ballons from a stand or something else stupid, the fact that they got away in plain sight just shows how fucking moronic cops can be.

I apologize if you work in law enforcement, but Jesus Christ if you do, you have some really incompetent peers that give you bad names.

Cool story, bro.

The last thing two recently-escaped inmates are going to do is harm someone right near where they just escaped, especially if these inmates were deemed by the law enforcement to be safe enough to do community service.

Yeah, but there's no excuse for 2 cheap ass crooks sneaking off from under the cops noses and an entire neighborhood figuring out before they do.

Mozz, you want to tell me that if you heard that two inmates broke out of a prison right around your neighborhood, you wouldn't be really nervous? Desperate men do desperate things, and that could involve something as simple as hiding in a house whose occupants are on vacation, stealing a car, or taking hostages to guarantee an escape. Sure, each situation gets more and more unlikely, but they're all possible and not exactly unheard of.
