Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I went to Wal-mart last night to stock up on "tooth extraction supplies" lots of soup, yogurt, ice cream, etc. & a couple DVDs out of the $5 bin which include Watchmen: Directors Cut, The Campaign, Flight, & Hanna. I also plan on trying to get through more of The Last Of Us.

Levitate is nice, but I actually preferred Joltik. I'm a sucker for Bug types that aren't awful.

EDIT: I guess I should reword that.

Same here, but in the first 3 generations they really didn't have any truly great bug Pokemon apart from Heracross. Don't get me wrong, I can make a Ninjask do work, and Fortress can be useful it is own way, but most bugs in gens 1-3 aren't naturally gifted.

I love stocking up trips for personal days. I was telling Doc about my gameplan for the day The Last of Us came out, and he aptly described it as me throwing myself a party. I'd say you were doing the same thing, but you're likely going to be in tremendous pain, so it's at least slightly different.

And why the hell would you buy the DIRECTOR'S CUT of Watchmen? That movie was bad enough as the cinematic cut, and now you want Zack Snyder's cut? You really trust him?

I'm not a big fan of director's cuts in general to be honest, as they grow oddly attached to scenes that don't have anything to do with the plot, like the French Chateau scene in Apocalypse Now Redux. Also, NorCal and Barbosa told me that the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut was worth watching, and it was awful.

I think that's why I like using them in later generations. Making up for lost time, I guess.

I liked Watchmen :(

It's not nearly as bad as I thought, though they shot me up with a shit load of anesthetic & my jaw is still pretty numb from that, so it may be a different story once that wears off, though I do have 15 Vicodin's to help with the pain soooo.... um yay drugs I guess.

A- It was $4

B- I like Watchmen, it's one of my faves, probably top 5 comic book movie. I never understood why it received such hatred from people. It stays pretty loyal to the source material (with the exception of teh ending which Snyder's makes more sense), more so than most comic book movies, so how you could love the comic but hate the movie never really made a lot of sense to me.

Have you read the Watchmen?

This is complete nonsense, the Director's Cut of Kingdom of Heaven is leaps & bounds better than the cinematic cut.

I saw Barbs bring up Fifa 13 earlier and it reminded me that Fifa 14 will be the last game released on the PS2. The console had a thirteen year shelf life, think about that. That seems insane in today's world of rapidly advancing electronic technology.

I was still playing sports games on PS2 up to 3 years ago. Even if just for longevity, the PS2 has got to be up there as far as important consoles go.

I think Vicodin is what they gave me after I had my wisdom teeth pulled. That's some good stuff.

It's the Zack Snyder effect. He fetishizes the image of every movie to the point where he feels like the picture alone can tell a story. That's true to a certain extent, but it's not nearly the storytelling technique that Zack Snyder thinks it is, and its why most of Snyder's films feel lacking of soul or personality. I'd say Watchmen is a great example of that, but really every Zack Snyder film up until Man of Steel exemplifies that, and I'm still fairly convinced that the only reason Man of Steel wasn't a total botch was because of the other names it had attached to the project.

Kingdom of Heaven is a shitty movie and the director's cut just makes it longer.

That's absurd; I had no idea they were still making games for the PS2. I think this adds to my argument that PS2 is easily one of the best consoles ever, arguably the best.

So far since I've gotten home I've watched Superman Unbound (meh) & Hanna (meh), now I decided to lighten things up pop in The Campaign, they just showed a trailer for Cloud Atlas which reminded me I want to see that. I've found a used copy for sale at a local store across town for $11.99, I've put a hold on it, I'll be heading out that way to pick it up tomorrow.

Oh yeah, there was a code in my copy of the Campaign for a 14 day Xbox Gold free trial, since I don't own a 360, does anyone here want it? first come first serve.

If you still have it, I'll gladly take it. And speaking of the Xbox, it seems as though Microsoft has done a complete turnaround with the policies and procedures of the Xbox One. I'm not sure what to think of this.

I imagine that Aaron Hernandez will be to fantasy football team names in 2013 as Plaxico Burress was to fantasy football team names in 2008.

I feel like this is a good one, but I'd need it translated into film/television terms to really get it.

Changing my fantasy football team's name to The Aaron Hernandez Execution Squad.

Too soon?

Not at all; I would have called it Aaron's Rifle Squad.

I really want to hear what Boston feels about this, considering how much I remember that part of the country condemned Ray Lewis after they knocked the Pats out of the playoffs

This is an excellent point. It seemed like every 5 minutes somebody at my Superbowl party had to remind the few Ravens fans that Ray Lewis is a murderer and terrible person.

I'd imagine that the rational Patriot fans are going to say good riddance, we don't need a guy like that on our team while the irrational (i.e. most) fans will go on about how this is different because blah blah blah Bill Belicheck is God and Tom Brady is Jesus.

Why does the basketball game have to start so late? Some people have work in the morning, ABC. I'm not one of those people, but try to be considerate!

Agreed. Get the tip off going already!

Are you a Pistons fan, or are you like me and owe your allegiance to your favorite players, not really sticking with one team. I find basketball is really the only sport where you can do that since the rosters are so small and one superstar can really make or break an entire team.

A little bit of both, actually. If the Pistons had players worth cheering for (Monroe and Drummond are starts, although Drummond was hurt a bit this year) I'll watch. But yes, I cheer for my favorite players. T-Mac was it in the early 2000s (even though the Pistons eliminated him) and LeBron really has been since he moved to Miami. idk why, but everyone hating on him made me like and appreciate him even more.

EDIT: And I agree with your statement that basketball is the only sport I'd give a pass to bandwagoning.

The Pacers are my favorite team, but Dirk is my favorite player so I also root for the Mavs. Not that I was asked.

For the record I dislike LBJ, but he is so unfairly judged it makes me feel for him.

Oh and after playing my career in NBA2k13, I find I start to like and dislike certain players based on what they do in my game. Like my guy is the starting center/power forward for the Nuggets and until today when they traded him, Ty Lawson was the starting point guard and I hated the guy. He rarely passes despite my guy being the best player on the team and he frequently uses too many ball moves to try to beat defenders. Looks like he is auditioning for And 1 when he brings it up the court.
