Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

First episode annoyed the shit out of me. Months later, I needed background noise when I was wrapping Christmas gifts. It grew on me. Especially the theme song.

Has anyone else seen 10 Cloverfield LN. yet?

I was kind of pissed at myself when I drove by the movie theater that's a three minute walk from my house on Monday and saw 10 Cloverfield Lane on the marquee, because I had looked up the release date earlier in the week and could have sworn that it was the following weekend, then miraculously didn't pass that movie theater on either Friday or Saturday.

I did NOTHING on Sunday. Don't get me wrong, it was glorious day of rest, but making the three minute walk to the theater from my house would have hardly disturbed that restful day.

I'm definitely seeing it this weekend. Don't know when, but I will be seeing it. John Goodman is one of my favorite actors and it looks like a real thriller.

Third act kinda fell apart though. Like, shocked the hell out of me but fuck if it got a bit kooky. Goodman was scarier than anything.

Agreed, but I'd argue that that was the trend of the movie. Started with things being kind of weird, but nothing was technically wrong, then you realize, "Oh shit, something is definitely up," in the second act, and in the third act you realize just how crazy everything is

Although I feel like the initial shock reveal of the third act is what caught me. After that nothing more surprising or effective happened. The initial shock though was amazing. I was convinced the woman was some sort of ploy by Goodman.

I know this is wrong, but the claustrophobic feeling the vent scenes gave me were the scariest bits of the movie. And it was a very tense, suspenseful movie.

Not sure how much I want to see more from the franchise though. Goodman and the bunker made this.

You read this? Not only a great contrast to the wonderful Wolverine and the X-Men, but fuuuck. I just finished The Archangel Saga and there's a scene right near the end that's up there with Swamp Thing finding Anton Arcane in hell as far as great comic book moments go.

That is the series that got me back to visiting my LCS on a weekly basis for a loooooong time, & is one of my all time favorites runs! Probably my favorite use of Deadpool in the comics too, as he wasn't completely obnoxious & shoved in your face.

If you can find the omnibus (it contains the entire series), buy it. It was a day one buy for me and I don't regret it. I'm actually reading the UXF omnibus side by side with the WatXM omnibus. Drastically different.

If I remember right WatMX suffered a bit at times because of the stupid AvX shit Marvel felt they needed derail their perfectly fine X-books with because god forbid Marvel go more than 6 months without a shitty universe wide crossover event.

You know, I have a ton of TPBs from right around that time in X-Force's history, but I'm not sure I have that particular story arc. Definitely a big fan of the series though, love the lineup, the costumes, the art, and the stories.

The Archangel Saga in X-Force is phenomenal.

Sometime to consider once my tax return comes in and I give Amazon a nice chunk of it. That is, unless I can find it at my LCS.

Both excellent in their own right though.

If you're interested in continuing the story, jump on the first volume of Uncanny Avengers. Many of the plot point brought up in UXF have their payoff in UA. It ultimately ends with Axis, and the less said about that event the better.

All of the X-Books, after Schism, were solid. UXM was fantastic, WatX was a light hearted, Alan Davis like Excaliber book. Both were flagships of their respective sides of the Schism, and both had a clear story they wanted to tell. It's unfortunate that AvX came along and completely derailed everything. Bendis came on board with ANXM and his UXM, and WatX lost meaning. Jason Aaron really never recovered that book after AvX.

Good luck. You can get the complete trades, but the first one is Out of Print and already moving up in price. The Omnibus is the best formate (entire run in one book, oversized as well), but that thing sold out quick (day one buy for me at $50). The cheapest I've seen lately is north of $200. I fully believe it will get the reprint treatment at some Point.

Some of the secondary market prices for the second Fourth World omnibus definitely puckered my asshole.

Trying looking up some second hand prices of ancient history books. Or brand new prices for that matter...
Blessedly, everything I'm into has been reprinted since the papyrus edition.

You've sold me -- I'll start parceling together that Fourth World collection.

Thanks, not-Catatonic Barbosa.

Nah. I don't need to eat for the next few weeks.

Civil War reviews are making me pee a little. #TeamCap
