Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

It's more of a since Fox owns the right to the X-Men Marvel is slowly phasing them out of interaction with the characters they own the movie rights to. Same can be said about the Fantastic Four but no one really cares about them to begin with.

I'm guessing they're trying to make it more like the Cinematic Universe. The big (unconfirmed) rumor is The X-Men and Mutants won't be in the same earth as the rest of the Marvel universe. Marvel is going to push the Inhumans into the minority race role. I'm kind of happy the X-Men may get their own universe, I'm sick of all of the crossovers.

I've wanted Marvel to split things into 3 main universes for a few years now, an Avenger universe, X-men universe, & a Spidey universe.

I don't know if I like Spider-Man in his own universe. Some of Spidey's villains work nicely as villains for other people as well, and Spider-Man teaming up with other heroes has been a staple for Marvel for a long time.

I am not opposed to the X-Men having their own universe. The whole idea that humankind fears mutantkind because of their tremendous abilities but are totally okay with Tony Stark and his 50 power suits running around is just silly.

The X-Men 100% should have their own universe. Between them, X-Force, and all the various villain crews, they have an intruiging focus on social issues that deserves to be focused on, along with more than enough interesting characters to carry their own individual films.

Spidey is were he should be, a major contributor in the Avengers universe. His own films still stand as an event, but the light-hearted nature of the character fits with the one-liner fests that the Marvel films are.

If there is a franchise that could work as its own entity out of the Big 2 publishers, X-Men is the one that would be the most likely to succeed. It's certainly a gamble, but Marvel seems hell bent on pushing the Inhumans into the minority race role.

As far as X-Men goes, I'd be happy to get away from the rest of Marvel. There has been 5 major events, in the last 10 years, that involved Avengers and X-Men either working together or fighting each other. Crossovers sell, and I get that, but they also kill the momentum any book gets.

Absolutely Spider-Man belongs with the rest of the Marvel characters. He's the king of one liners to begin with. The tone of the characters fits what Disney is trying to make Marvel into.

Uncanny X-Men and All New X-Men are two fantastic titles, but like Shocky said, they constantly get their momentum fucked up by the constant crossovers that happen. Granted, Uncanny X-Men might not be a book without AvX, but do we really need the Avengers and/or S.H.I.E.L.D. sticking their noses in X-Men business every other issue? The thing I love about the Uncanny X-Men is that Scott Summers and his X-Men don't really care about what is legal or illegal, what is heroic or villainous: they care about saving mutants by any means necessary. It'll be nice to see that happen in a universe where they don't have to have Wolverine on like, five different super hero teams so the world hates mutants... except when they serve on beloved teams like The Avengers.

Absolutely agree on Spider-Man belonging with the rest of Marvel. Until recently he was the face of the franchise, and I think he can be again with the split coming up. I haven't been super duper on top of my Spider-Man game, but it seems like Marvel just tried too hard to stay ahead of the curve with him and as a result made his stories suck. Hopefully they can hit the reset button and bring back the Spider-Man we all know and love and put him right back into the swing of things.

I'm seeing Mad Max: Fury Road tonight, and I don't think I've ever been this excited for a movie. My expectations are high, and only getting higher thanks to the incredible reviews the film has been getting.

I'm so excited. I'm not seeing it tonight but I'm definitely seeing it in the theaters. Maybe this weekend. It looks so good and the glowing reviews are driving me up to maximum hype mode.

Checked out WZCW history. Could we see Saboteur again?

I don't think I'd bring Saboteur back unless this next guy I'm responding to came back with Action Saxton. And even then it would probably only be a one off.

Plus Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron are two actors I think very highly of. And Nicholas Hoult is also a pretty talented dude, and I'm hoping this movie will help me develop more of an opinion on it.

Gah, only 6 more hours!

You'll have to give us a full review once you've seen it. It really is packed with good actors and it just seems like it'll be a blast.

Honestly, there's very little chance of that happening. My heart belongs to AES, and the last time I tried coming back to WZCW (with a different character) the negotiations were very poorly-handled and really killed my interest in that kind of eFed. It just seems like it's reverted back to when I first signed up Saxton back in the day in terms of botchy management and a fairly dull roster.

A one-off, maybe, but I doubt it. Saxton (as Action Jackson) is doing well for himself serving as a "pro" in an NXT-style fed right now on AES. Saxton/Saboteur Tower is actually going to make a cameo in an RP that's about to come up as a nameless tower that contains Action's training facility.

(I'm just saying you should totally give AES another try if you ever feel the writing itch, especially since if you're busy you won't always have to promo. At the very least check out our Royal Rumble event, featuring beautiful commentary by yours truly. Skip to 2:22:07 for the Rumble itself, it's well worth it).

Well I'll defer to your judgement as I haven't so much as read a single match since my departure.

I do get the writing itch, though if I was going to return to efedding, I might return as... whatever my cross-gender character was when I was in AES (Sam Humphries, I wanna say?) or someone entirely new. Saboteur is probably on a grand space adventure with Dance Party 95 right now and far too busy to return to earth to wrestle on a wrestling program.

Mad Max was good. Really good. Action was great without sacrificing story, and it was VERY thought provoking.

While Barbosa is living the quiet life as Sebastian with his empty-headed girlfriend, who works at Starbucks.

Hell, Sebastian likely works there too.

I hope he switched to decaf.

No S.H.I.T, no Barbosa, no Alhazred, no Saboteur, no Saxton. Never thought I'd see the day :(. I know me and RedSkull weren't feeling the fed like before, and I got a job with stupid hours and had to step away (cruel irony, not long after that I got a better job) but I still get that writing bug as well. Just seems like the e-fed's gone a new direction and left me behind, in many ways, not sure if you guys feels the same. Almost feels like too much emphasis on marginalising your character and creativity for the sake of meeting a bunch of criteria, I don't do well with criteria, makes everything sort of... samey. Fit in or die, hit these bullet points or fail, sort of thing.

I think in short the satisfaction I used to get is gone, but that might be an entirely me issue with all of the above having no bearing at all.

This hurts my soul. All the characters I used to read before I joined are gone :(

Can you guys all come back? You guys were the quirky characters that I just loved to read. If you guys were around, a certain character of mine would definitely be in the e-fed right now. I miss all the quirky, out of this world characters. Everyone now is a bit too serious for my liking.

Can you give us your rating of Mad Max, JGlass? Was contemplating watching it but you know, I had to go see Pitch Perfect 2 first :D

Fit-in-or-die was what made me write Saxton in the first place, that mentality was awful and I just wanted to write a comedy character knowing full well he'd probably just lose all the time. But now it just feels like too much effort when I'm part of a community with, honestly, a larger selection of better characters and a better way of doing shows. Sure, they're not as regular as I'd like but everything is so much fun that it hardly matters. I will defend game eFeds and AES forever.

It's really a shame the fed's reverted to back to 2010 in a sense. It was a great time and I really had a ton of fun while I was in. Unfortunately, I feel like sometimes the focus on competitiveness becomes people trying to be too "serious" or "realistic" and trying to win by spilling words onto a page instead of having fun building an angle.

Again, I can't comment on the direction the fed is in, but it seems pretty widely agreed upon that there's no place for the Saxtons and/or Saboteurs, S.H.I.T.s, Barbosas, Alhazreds, or any of the great characters that made it fun to RP in my time in the fed.

I remember how excited Doc and I would be when we got an angle and we'd plan our RPs for the whole cycle, usually culminating in some sort of grand adventure or parody of a famous movie. I don't think the most fun I ever had in the fed was when Doc and I wrote our Star Wars parody.

I gotta be honest, I don't even remember who your character was. Isabella something, right?

Mad Max gets a solid 8/10. My big gripe is it takes a looooong time for the movie to get really good. The action starts from the very beginning, and it's fantastic action, and the visuals are good enough to keep your attention, but I'd say the movie didn't hook me until maybe 40 minutes in.

Also, if you're looking for mindless action, keep on looking, because this movie clearly has a message and is a thought provoking endeavor. In my mind it's a movie about a world ruled by the id and a small group of people struggling to restore the ego. Another reading I had is that it's a world where human life has lost all value and humans are viewed as commodities just like the precious supplies the survivors kill each other for.

I really look forward to reading more about this movie as there are a lot of questions I have. For one thing, the world of Mad Max is filled with mutated humans, ranging from a giant man unable to breath without the aid of a pretty nifty oxygen tank, to a chair-bound, morbidly obese dwarf, and the origin/plentifulness of these mutated people isn't really explained.
