Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Fine then. I didn't want to play anyway.

How was Genocide live?

Hey, if Stormy doesn't get back to me by tomorrow night, you're in.

Genocide was probably my favorite song they did last night, though American Jesus was also great. They didn't play anything off of The Empire Strikes First, which may be my favorite album, but they made up for it by playing some other songs I didn't expect to hear, like Supersonic and Atomic Garden. Here's the full setlist.

I would have liked to hear To Another Abyss, Los Angeles is Burning, I Want to Conquer the World, and some of their faster stuff like Automatic Man or Atheist Peace. Hearing some How Could Hell Be Any Worse would be appreciated too.

Not to worry though, I plan on definitely seeing them again next time they're near me.

So I've finally gotten to the point in my life where I can recognize when women are playing Girl Tricks on me. You know what I mean: when you're in an argument with a girl and she's the guilty party, but somehow she turns it around to where it's somehow you're fault and you're the one tying to comfort her, or when a girl brings up a rumor she heard about you liking her friend and asks you to confirm or deny it. Obvious female malarkey, but somehow I wasn't able to detect these things until recently.

The problem I have is... how the fuck do you counter it? Once you're in the midst of a well placed trap, you're in the trap. You can't turn back time and not place your foot in the snare: you're already snagged!

Case in point, one of my co-workers was being a real bitch to me tonight. We have a dynamic where she teases me and I play the goofy guy that takes it in stride, but tonight she was laughing AT me more than I cared for, and I let her know it. Apparently this upset her to the point where she cried all the way home and shared that with me in an attempt to make me feel guilty for making her feel that bad.

The bad news is I do feel guilty for making her feel that bad and in a way, her trap worked. On the positive note, I recognized that there as a trap, and was able to grease my way out by recognizing the key words.

Those key words, men?

Obviously
Clearly
Evidently

When women use words meaning, "easily observed," it means they're trying to fuck your skull. By somehow making you think that the way their feeling is something that you should have quickly and easily discerned, you're an idiot for thinking any other way.

But you're not wrong! In fact, you're probably mostly if not totally right! But just like any good trap, struggling doesn't help you get out, it only gets you more stuck.

I don't know if there's a clean way to get out of a well played girl trap, but you definitely don't need to cut off your leg (or dignity) to escape. Tonight, I just made sure that the trap laying woman knew that I recognized her feelings as legitimate while also making sure she knew that I still thought that my feelings were legitimate as well.

Remember, it's not unmanly to have feelings; it's unmanly to pretend that your feelings don't matter because of your gender.

I would say that if a girl is deliberately attempting to manipulate and guilt trip you, then that is one of the occasions when hiding your true emotions of guilt is the way to go.

If getting called out on her bullshit makes her cry, that is on her. Not you.

Telling her you know what she is doing with her guilt trip could be fun. Some girls are complete sociopaths about that kind of thing. She may well have cried all the way home but when you intimate that you know why she is telling you that and you don't care, she could very easily stop. Or attempt to be outraged.

A similar situation happened to me. I smiled and walked away. Granted, that was not with a co-worker who I would not be able to avoid.

Yeah, and I tried to make that clear to her without further hurting her feelings. I felt bad she cried, of course, as I don't want to see anyone cry, least of all someone I consider a friend, but at the same time it's not like I did anything to make her cry other than react in a way you would expect someone to react when they have been pissed off.

Both good strategies, but it was getting late, and I had no intention of letting this... let's just call it event... go on for more than a day, and I have a feeling that calling her out would have just taken me farther down the rabbit's hole. Besides, knowing you're being trapped is one thing, knowing how to get out is an entirely different thing, and I'm not sure I could afford to descend further into the abyss.

We worked it out. It ended with her saying that I have to tell her when she needs to stop, which I told her I would, but also told her that she needs to figure out where the line is and know when she's in danger of crossing it. I'm willing to compromise as long as I'm not the only one shouldering the blame.

Have you all indulged in Elder Scrolls Online?

Also, I'm more than likely going to get Destiny when it drops.

Also, I'll have a WZCW application in by the end of the week. It's down to whether or not I want to tweak the old Capone character or start from scratch.

You and Nightmare need to join immediately.

No, ESO looks amazing and I'd love to explore Tamriel, but I don't have the time for that mumbo jumbo.

I'm interested in Destiny, but I know very little about it. What's the concept of this game?

According to Wikipedia...

Destiny is set seven hundred years into the future in a post-apocalyptic setting following a prosperous period of exploration, peace, and technological advancement known as the Golden Age.[15] In a universe where humans have spread out and colonized planets in the Solar System, an event known as "the Collapse" saw the mysterious dissolution of these colonies, the end of the Golden Age, and mankind teetering on the brink of extinction. The only known survivors of the Collapse are those living on Earth, who were saved by "the Traveler," a white, spherical celestial body whose appearance centuries before had enabled humans to reach the stars.[16] The Traveler now hovers above the last safe city on Earth, and its presence allows the Guardians — the defenders of the City — the ability to wield an unknown power, only referred to as "The Light."

Upon mankind's first attempt to repopulate and reconstruct after the Collapse, it is discovered that hostile alien races have occupied mankind's former colonies and civilizations and are now encroaching upon the City. The player takes on the role of one such Guardian, and is tasked with reviving the Traveler while investigating and destroying the alien threats before humanity is completely wiped out.
