Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Anyone read Cable and the X-Force? They caught my eye at my buddy's comic shop so I grabbed the three they have and placed an order for the previous ones.

To be fair I've not read much of current Cyclops stuff, since Schism actually. I also really don't like what they've done with Wolvie either. The only X-title I'm currently reading is Nightcrawler, but I look forward to checking out this Cyclops book.

Wolverine actually wanted to kill past-Cyclops in one of the All-New X-Men comics. He's kind of a douche. He's also lost his regenrative healing powers, which annoys me because that should mean that he gets adamantium poisoning, but in practice simply means he bleeds when he decides to pop the claws.

Cyclops is a badass now. He's a fugitive, so he's hiding out in the Weapon X facility with his crew and he goes on these badass black-ops missions where he recruits new mutants to his cause. He's really taken on a Punisher-esque approach to mutants compared to Wolverine and his crew. Wolverine is all about politics, but if Cyclops sees a mutant in trouble, you can bet your ass he's going to be there to save them.

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, I don't know what kind of special deal your LCS has, but I know mine does 50% off all TPBs & Graphic Novels, you might be able to get it for even cheaper!

Well, I know what I'm doing tomorrow! I doubt my LCS has the same deals, but I'll pop by for the festivities.

Yes, and it's awesome. I love Cable, I love X-Force, and the storyline has been bumping. This current story is particularly badass.

My legs hurt. Also, I have a new job since we last spoke.

How are you?

This is to both you and nightmare, but im good guys. Had my first day of real mma gym training yesterday, no more garages haha! It was fun and ill be going back. Ill be at my job six months on monday. Time sure does fly huh? I dont drink anymore really, no drugs outside of a random puff on the leaf, joint pain you know ;)

. Got a good job, my supervisors love me. Ive only been late once and that's because I rolled my ankle in a pothole walking to work. Health insurence, dental, and vision too! My woman lives with me now, and im slowly learning how to drive. Trying to beat my fear of being in cars, I've been in six car accidents, it takes me about fifteen minutes to calm down before i can even start the car. That's much better than the first time though. I drove for about 10 seconds, saw a car, slammed on the brakes and puked everywhere.

Well congrats on getting all that stuff out of your system, that must feel pretty good. And also congratulations on getting into some legit MMA gym training, hopefully that will open some windows for you.

I did not know you had a fear of being in cars. Good luck getting over that, it sounds like a full-blown phobia.

Yeah it is man, and Im sure this gym will open up stuff for me. Matt the fighter who's training me is friends with luke Zachrig he just fought in the ufc, took the fight on two weeks notice and lost in like 54 seconds. But I have the backing of four pro fighters now. So time and pratice are all I need. Im happy brother, I choked out someone who's 230 and has three years of jujitsu under his belt. That was epic. He armbar'd me ten minutes later, but pratice makes perfect.

Well I can cross another movie off my to watch list now that I just finished watching Almost Famous for the first time. Really enjoyed the movie.

Any of you ever seen it?

Pain is a good teacher. At least that's what my dominatrix tells me.

Yeah, it's a good movie, possibly Kate Hudson's only good performance ever.

Pulled off my first legit live grappling arm bar yesterday. I turned his thumb up, and squeezed a bit and then let off. The guy got pissed and was like wtf I did'nt tap, thirty seconds later he's up stand the wall rubbing out a "Charlie horse" from his elbow. He had to leave he had a nasty bruise right by his elboe, and it was starting to bulge out.... yeah bro, that's why I let go so quick. You've done this for 6 months, just because someone's making you tap in your home gym dosent mean u need to be a hard ass....

Wound up getting that new Cyclops comic. I feel like it has promise. I'm excited to see what the six wonders of the universe are. I'm also curious as to how Scott plans on sending that letter he's writing to Jean. Is there an Intergalactic Post Office in the Marvel Universe?

I was wondering the same thing about the letter. I liked it, thought it was a pretty solid first issue.

Yeah, the whole father-son bonding experience thing may prove to be too corny for my taste, but I'm willing to see where it takes me. But so help me Odin, if Scott yells, "I'll never be like you!" at any point in the series, I will be extremely disappointed.

Same, JJ Abbrams has had 3 of his 4 shows cancelled this year.

The worst part is, NBC basically killed Revolution. I seem to remember it doing well when it was on Monday nights at 10 then they moved it to Wednesday at 8 and it started doing worse. Why they would take it off Monday nights when it was against nothing that draws huge ratings and move it to Wednesday against Survivor and American Idol, which both draw ratings makes zero sense to me.

NBC is bad at that, they did the same shit with Community.

Community being cancelled sucks, but at least NBC can't do anything else to fuck it up more. Besides, maybe it'll find a home on a new network where they actually let Dan Harmon do his thing.

Or even on Netflix. I know reactions to new Arrested Development were mixed, but from what I hear, Netflix doesn't limit original series creatively at all.

I read somewhere that that's actually a possibility, & I think Community is the type of thing that would actually do much better as a Netflix series.

Apparently there's supposed to be some sort of open-to-the-public Satanic mass taking place at Harvard tomorrow. I'm a little tempted to go check out what that's like, but then I remember that I've rarely been able to work up even the faintest bit of interest during any sort of religious ceremony in my entire life, so why should Satanism be any different?
