Except for the fact that WWE has not mentioned Punks name once in regard to him walking out. The IWC makes up only a small portion of their audience, & casual fans don't read dirt sheets & follow everything on social media as much you'd think. Also lets not forget everybody was shouting from the rooftops that Edge's retirement was a work, & the same with AJ Styles recently leaving TNA, again not everything is a work.
Jesus, CM Punk only "walked out" five days ago, I can hardly fault WWE for not addressing the matter quite yet. After all, Smackdown hasn't even aired yet. I don't read spoilers, so I have no idea what is going to happen on the show tonight but I can only assume he is not part of the Elimination Chamber, because if he is, what the hell is he complaining about?
Plus, WWE not acknowledging it only adds realism to it in my view, making it a more effective work. Make it feel and seem as real as possible, which only adds to the drama when he returns.
The IWC may only be a fraction of the overall audience, but that's all it takes to create a vibe in the crowd and the next thing you know, a movement such as the "yes" chant is in full force. And I imagine with the way WWE push their app down our throats every opportunity they get, and with their network launch around the corner, there are probably more fans on social networking and such than you are giving them credit for. Everything and everyone is on the social media scene, and WWE is no different.
Maybe you are right Justin, but it just all seems to be too perfect to not be a work. I will be shocked if CM Punk is not back by Wrestlemania 30 and in a significant capacity.
And I'm also not so sure that AJ Styles isn't returning to TNA at some point as well, although I think that is more legitimate and less work than the CM Punk scenario.
