I can live with Hunnam even though I think he's kind of shit.I tried watching Sons of Anarchy and got a few episodes in to season 2. I get that they want to push the morally ambiguous angle, but when Charlie Hunnam is the guy you have representing the side of good, you might have trouble keeping a large portion of your audience.
The problem is that after a while, most of the material just falls flat for me. I don't care about these people. I don't care about this club. I don't care about this culture. I don't care about Gemma's passive-aggressive bullshit. I don't care about the latest nonsensical bit of drama-free business with the blacks, or the Irish, or whichever whoever-the-fuck. I don't care that Kurt Sutter *********es to Shakespeare. I don't believe any of the danger any more. Even when consequences arrive, like they did for some characters did this season, it's too late for me.
There have been countless fantastic gritty crime dramas on cable over the last fifteen years. As far as I'm concerned, SOA is nothing more than a successful bastard-child of the good ones. The stuff with great characters, great performances, and captivating, unforgettable material.
To me, it's on the same level as The Walking Dead: Popular garbage.
Super-talky ninety minute episodes because Kurt Sutter likes to hear himself type even though his characters are saying or doing nothing remotely interesting? Fuck right off.
Of course there's one season left. I doubt I'll walk away even though I fucking loathe the show.
I didn't intend to rant. SOA gives me Stormtrooper-esque spikes in blood pressure.
http://forums.wrestlezone.com/showpost.php?p=3521679&postcount=73You're going to have to explain your sig to me. Did you just edit NorCal and I out because you didn't want to group us in with the rest of NJX, or are you comparing me to RVD and NorCal to Kelly Kelly? If it's the latter, I'd start running. Maybe change your name.
I've met SOA fans. Generally pretty trashy. Their standards aren't the same as ours. That's a fair point, but I'm guessing that if they had a higher quality actor playing Jacks, they'd have an even sizable audience.
