Is that not a mainstay of the LEGO game series?

Well this is my first Lego video game experience since I was about 12 years old and I played Lego Racers, so I'm not really sure if there's a formula here.

One of my friends is streaming the game in two-hour installments and it's pretty hilarious. Looks like a lot of fun. I considered getting it since it's heavily discounted on Amazon but then I remembered my neighbors have pretty much every Lego game and I'm watching the guy play it anyway. Might borrow Lego DC 2 though.

Humor was definitely the strong point of Lego Marvel. I haven't finished it yet, but the Deadpool game could learn a thing or two about humor from Lego.

I got one of the Star Wars LEGO games for the Wii and it was great fun and had a vast amount of collectables to get after completing the game.

In more general terms, the sheer amount of Star Wars LEGO is unbelievable. I actually have a LEGO TIE Interceptor and an AT-ST sitting on my computer tower.

I wanted to get the Millennium Falcon, but saw it was like $150, said fuck that.

I went to Target the other day to buy Scrabble, so of course I had to go to the toy section to get it, and there was a little girl that had picked out a Star Wars Lego set (I think it was the giant vehicle that carries the droids at the beginning of A New Hope). I was walking by her when she scanned it under one of those price checker things. $135 or something like that. For a box full of little plastic bricks. Absurd.

If I ever have kids, I'll probably just give them my Legos from when I was a kid and call it a day. I could save thousands that way.

I never got a Lego kit. We just had a bin of random bricks and I'd build whatever I wanted with them. I'm sure the kits are cool, but I don't know that I would've had more fun with those than I did with the randoms.

Sandcrawler, & yes it's absurd. If they'd lower the price on them I'd probably buy a ton of those LEGO sets, I also wanted an X-Wing & the Batmobile. Until then I'll just stick to the 6 in. black series figures for Star Wars.

If I ever have kids they're just not getting LEGO's, because I just don't know where mine are.

When I was about 12 or something, I got a few Lego sets. Probably going to give them to my nephew when he's a little bit older (2 and a half at the moment, though he has a lot of Duplo already)

I started watching the new season of Community. So far, so good. Still a good deal of fan service, but episode 2 definitely vamps things up in terms of humor after episode 1 serves as more of a setup for the season.

I got plenty of Lego kits in my day. Some of them went forever unbuilt, but I had fun with most of them. I attest the odd sense of joy and accomplishment I get when I assemble furniture to memories of assembling Lego sets.

I built all my Lego sets. I had a bunch of Harry Potter ones. Most of my favorite creations were all-original, though. I made some sweet castles and fighting arenas. I also made a ton of Bionicles. I still have my giant robot killer death machine assembled and on display on my chest of drawers. Coolest thing ever.

I don't think I had any of the Bionicles, but I had the precursor to them which were these weird robots that were associated with various elements and threw discus things. A minimum amount of research tells me that they were called Throwbots, and they were kind of fun. I had a bunch and I would make them battle each other. Here's a picture of one I had. I remember you could adjust the angle at which its wheels were placed with that gear thing.

The thing where you play as Iron Man and War Machine and throw the house party at Stark Tower?

I gotta admit, the gameplay isn't all that exciting once you beat the game, but there is a ton of shit to unlock including some bonus levels that are pretty fun.

Naw, when Guardians of the Galaxy show up and start talking about how Thanos is coming to fuck stuff up. Then Black Panther shows up to talk to Nick Fury or something.

I look forward to finding whatever challenge there is to unlock them.

Drax gives you a bunch of challenges to help him put on a show. Little known fact: Drax plays the sax. I think it's three missions, and you unlock various Guardians around each turn. You unlock Rocket Raccoon with a different mission given to you by Rocket Raccoon himself, but he's not that great. I still haven't found out how to unlock Groot.

Actually since we're on all this Lego talk does anyone know anything about the official movie out February? Is it like mixing all the various Lego licenses together?

So it would seem. At the very least we know it has Batman, Gandalf, Michelangelo and 80s Space Guy. Doesn't look like Lego acquired Marvel early enough for them to be in the movie, though.

I think I saw Wonder Woman and maybe Superman somewhere in it. Well hopefully it's entertaining, I think I rarely see any good movie in January or Feb. unless it's leftover stuff from the Holiday season I've missed.

Actually I'm quite surprised WB even made Lego Marvel, since all of their game licenses are up with Activision it would be great if we got better games so things like Deadpool or whatever other calamities wouldn't happen again.

Yeah, it has a bunch of DC heroes. After watching the trailer again, I may have been wrong about Gandalf, but it does have the 2002 NBA All-Stars, and I'm pretty sure that Shaq can do pretty much anything Gandalf can, and he's likely the best post player of all time.

I wouldn't call Deadpool a calamity. It was just kind of a lame attempt at making a game. The humor is hit or (mostly) miss, and while the gameplay is fun, it's only fun in small, separated doses.

Since I've played that game I've realized there's a limit on how much Deadpool I can take. I guess it's back to hoping he's one of the new X-Movies at some point or another, hopefully with out Reynolds.

I find Deadpool enjoyable in comics about 90% of the time. He's actually being written pretty well in the current Thunderbolts series (though I wouldn't recommend it since the artwork is pretty shit), and most of his handlers seem to know that he's funnier as a dark goofball rather than an ADHD lunatic, which is how he is portrayed in the Deadpool game.

For the briefest moment, I thought that that was an original Thundertank in the background.

Nope, all Throwbots came in a case like that, color coordinated of course. That was one of the coolest aspects of them, actually: the packaging was bad ass.

If I remember correctly, I rarely used the Throwbots for their intended purpose, which was obviously to throw things. Instead, I would pretend they could shoot lasers out of their faces or use their other aspects for fighting. For instance, the Ice Throwbot had a ski pole that I pretended were machine guns. The fire one had this cool shield with flames coming out of it that I pretended was a flame thrower. I had a lot of fun using those things for the battles I had with my regular Legos.

I actually found a picture of all of them. I think I had all of these except for the orange one.

Sorely tempted to delve into my attic space and retrieve what LEGO, books and other toys I have up there just to see what I still have, although I am already running out of space in my room to keep it all on display.

As you may have guessed, despite being a published writing with a PhD and teaching at a university, I never actually grew up.

I've completely forgotten why I hated Crash so strongly. I could watch it again to remind myself. But it's Crash. You guys aren't worth it.
