Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

That's hilarious. Though you probably could have gotten some money out of his insurance if your friend hadn't attacked him with a deadly weapon.

The look on his face as he realized he got hit with a burrito was only matched by the fact he then proceeded to wipe off the beans and taste them. The rest of the conversation I spent laughing as cheese was hanging from his forehead.

That right there made it all ok. No damage other than a dent and my phone. I needed a new one anyway.

I made it through an hour of Ghostbusters. That's more than fair.

You can bet your bottom dollar that there will be a Ghostbusters quote or seven at every NJX affair. IC25 loves that movie, or at least using lines from it.

Does he use Bill Murray's seduction techniques on D-Man?

I got a bit too focused when I drafted Stafford. Should've taken Cam instead. Oh well

I know the feeling. Sometimes when your plan for the draft is going so well it's hard to pull away from it, even if that means drafting a lower quality player because you didn't realize someone better was still on the board.

That wasn't my problem so much as getting a ton of people that have the same bye week (we're not playing each other week 9, btw. We are, however, playing each other this week), but I'm hoping I can overcome that.

The draft report card has me finishing 7th, but I'm confident a few of my picks will be able to outperform their projections. I'm also tickled pink that I was able to beat out Stormy and habs, both of whom had much better drafting positions than I.

Exactly. The only player I really wanted in my top five picks that I didn't get was Jimmy Graham so I'm very happy.

I'm pretty sure the commissioner has the power to change that ;)

I'm not going to go crazy on waivers for that one week. Unless I'm desperate for a win, I'll just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

I'm 5th, but there are 4 of us that are rated at a B. Apparently my schedule projects to be incredibly difficult though. If DMC ends up not having a shitty season, he could be the MVP of my team.

my WR strategy didn't go well at all, my plan was to get Welker with the 4th/5th rnd. pick, but yahoo had rated so fucking low I thought he was taken so I reached a bit & grabbed Eddie Lacy, I was also had hopes of grabbing one of GB's WR, namely Cobb or Jones, but those were dashed quickly.

For my first draft with my high school pals I had a bit of a plan that I executed pretty well, but for this draft I just went in pretty much blind. The only strategy I used was use one pick to get a player that would arguably be good at this point in the draft, and the other pick to get a guy before any of you "middle of the order" types get your grubby hands on them (did that with Rodgers, Seattle DEF, and I believe Vernon Davis).

I could, but that's not very fair now is it?

I picked him in a mock draft in round 10 or something. Yes, he has the potential to have a shit season, but he's still pretty freaking good.

I saw that Lacy pick and thought it was bizarre, but I chalked it up to homerism. I don't know why Welker is rated so low in Yahoo, and I believe he's ranked lower than both Thomas and Decker despite the fact that he'll probably be the first string WR in Denver.

I miss the draft and ended up with Brees, Alfred Morris (my pick for leading rusher, btw), AND Michael Vick as a backup? Yes please.

Yeah, I thought it was strange when your auto-draft picked Morris with your first round pick, but if that's your thought process then you probably made the right call.

I can't imagine him beating out AP. That's an offense that pretty much revolves around the guy, and even though every defense in the league knows it, they still can't stop him. Then again, the Vikings have the 31st most difficult schedule for RBs, but the Redskins have the 27th.

I factored RGIII being told not to run as much, which gives Morris more carries. I also factored AP not following up his epic run last year, and if he does, he does. But based on stats, it's rare for someone to back up a banner year with a better one.

I ended up with Gronk on my team, which I think might end up being good the rest of the year, but there's still some great TE's that are FA's that can be picked up throughout the season.

I also ended up with Fitzgerald and DeSean Jackson at WR. If things hold up like they should, I very well might end up being in the top tier.

That's the toughest part about being on an end in a snake. You can't help but to reach for guys, just because there's no chance in hell they'll be there 19 picks later when you go again.

I could, but that's not very fair now is it?

When you say it like that...

I picked him in a mock draft in round 10 or something. Yes, he has the potential to have a shit season, but he's still pretty freaking good.

Everything I read prior to the draft was "DO NOT DRAFT HIM" but I think 3 or 4 rounds (can't remember how far he'd fallen at that point) after his ranking and ADP is an okay time to take a flier on him.

I saw that Lacy pick and thought it was bizarre, but I chalked it up to homerism. I don't know why Welker is rated so low in Yahoo, and I believe he's ranked lower than both Thomas and Decker despite the fact that he'll probably be the first string WR in Denver.

Part of it is probably PPR, but I was reading my draft report card and Yahoo kind of hates Welker's potential this year. I don't get it.

My extensive research indicates that Welker will probably be Peyton's second favorite target behind Thomas but above Decker. That said, Decker is a TD machine with 13 TDs last season, so even is Welker does get more targets, Decker seems to get the more important balls thrown his way.

It's kind of funny that Denver signed Welker away from the Pats to create the deadliest trio of receivers in football (sorry Packers) while the Patriots are lead at wideout by big bad Danny Amendola who has played all of one full season in the NFL.

Sorry for all the football talk, English friends. But here, I'll throw you a bone: Cardiff City beating ManC? How cool is that?!

Reported to have signed on for a minimum of six films? Still find that part a bit questionable, good choice if it's still not just rumored like it was yesterday.

WR TDs are definitely prone to bigger variation from year to year. Plus, it's not just like Welker is generic receiver C, he's been one of the best over the past few years.

I'm not really paying too much attention to the draft report card. While I'm not exactly thrilled with the results of my draft, I think they have underestimated the value of several of my players. And as the season wears on, I'll be able to tinker with my lineup to address my shortcomings, once I learn the inner workings of fantasy football, as this is my first shot at it. I was able to do alright in my first crack at fantasy hockey, and so far, fantasy baseball has been rolling along OK as well (my first attempt at fantasy sports with them too). Hopefully, fantasy football won't turn out to be too much of an embarrassment for me.

How about fantasy basketball, any talk of a league for the NBA?

Yeah, the draft report card measure success based on if everything goes down how Yahoo predicts it will. The likelihood of that is roughly 0%. I mean, it might go 85% according to Yahoo's predictions, but that last 15% could make all the difference in the world.

Guy Compton ran one last year, if he doesn't do it again I'd be happy to do it. I mean, I am the reigning champion after all.

You ever see the movie Manic with JGL and Zooey Deschanel? I just picked it for our (suppose to be) weekly movie night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't.

Zooey Dechannel plays the same character in everything that she has ever been in, and they are all awful. JGL could be worse though. Had to add the second part to prove that I don't hate everything so that my comment actually meant something.
