Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I'd probably rather have Jackson than Ridley, especially if it's a PPR league. Jordy is already hurt & was hurt a lot of last year, of the Packers three main WR's he's probably the last I would want.

The US Women's Golf Team in the Solheim Cup (the ladies version of the Ryder Cup) have adopted John Cena's "You Can't See Me" as their signature celebration.

This is one of the very few things that can even make me slightly care about women's golf, let alone golf period.

Barbosa, if you ever start to feel left out with the American football talk, just switch it up to BPL talk. Everton drew today. I didn't see it, but I heard they looked good.

Looked more dynamic going forward than usual but far less solid at the back.

Unsurprising given their new manager and his reputation for attacking but frequently futile football.

I'm no Barbosa, but I did watch the main highlights programme and subsequently had to listen to the presenter/ex-pro big up a young player as the future of England's national team... after his 5th start for his parent club. Fucking ridiculous.

It looked like a good game though and I've decided to claim Norwich, who Everton were playing, as my second team as they are the closest Premier League team to MY Cambridge.

Well, hopefully Everton's back is strong enough to carry that heavy attacking load.

See what I did there?

With Tim Howar another year older and a fairly mediocre mix of players in the back that seems like a tall task.

You are no Barbosa, but I always like to hear from Dowds. Do you support another club in England that isn't in the Premier? I'm a supporter of Forrest as well as Everton. If Notts gets promoted, I'll have to choose between them.

It is more to do with the manager's tactics than the players themselves for at the moment at least, Everton still have the same defence as last year.

Careful with that abbreviation. There is a Notts Forest but also their big local rivals a Notts County, "the oldest club in the world." Was actually at a game of County's earlier this year as part of a Stag Do weekend.

Ridley is gonna be a touchdown machine I'd rather have him.

NE has 4 other RBs on their roster that Ridley could end up splitting time with, outside of Brady there are few Pats I would trust.

And yet he had nearly 1300 yards rushing and 12 TDs last year in a similar situation. Ridley is their main back and the Pats are gonna run the ball a lot more this year to take the pressure off Brady.

Jackson had a 1000 yards and 4 TDs. Yes I know he's on a better team this year, but he's never been big on getting TDs. Even if Ridley drops off TD wise a touch he's still gonna be more valuable than Jackson. I hated Ridley last year as a Brady owner. He had a ton of TDs at the goal line that I was expecting a pass to Gronk or Hernandez. Ridley arrived last year and he's only going to get more work as the number 1 running back. Jackson isn't nearly what he used to be and Ridley is ascending. I'd much rather have Ridley because even if he only gets 1000 yards and 5 TDs, its what Jackson is going to give you. However the potential with Ridley is significantly better than Jackson. You could see 1500 and 15 TDs with Ridley this year.

And on top of all this (and Ty pretty much said it all), the Pats lack any sort of receiving threat. Amendola is good, but he's not going to put up huge numbers, and Gronkowski is still out and an injury risk. The Pats are going to be relying on the run game more this year than they have since the dawn of the Brady era.

And on the other side of things, the Falcons are very much a pass-first team, and why shouldn't they be? When you have Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez going out for passes, your run game can easily take the backseat. And Jacquizz Rogers is still going to get his touches too as the Falcons are going to want to save an aging Jackson for their post-season run.

I know I'm gonna be targeting Ridley in my money league draft tomorrow. I've never been really bullish on getting running backs but this year I'm going to be. Lots of depth at QB and WR so unless by some miracle Rodgers is there when I pick round one, I'm going Running Back. I'm hoping that I can get the 2nd/3rd overall pick as my league has gone QB happy round 1. Last year we had 4 QB's taken in the first 5 picks. Rodgers, Brees, Brady, then Foster, then Cam Newton. Stafford was shortly after that group as well. If I can get in that top 5, and everyone goes QB happy, I'll snap up Peterson in a heart beat and then come back around for another quality RB second round. Hell if there's someone there in the third that slid down, I'm taking a RB first three rounds.

QB's and RB's are the most important parts of my league. 6 pts for passing TDs, and bonus points for 100+ yard rushing games and 200+ yard rushing games. No bonuses for receivers other than PPR, but again the depth at receiver is ridiculous. Last year I had at least 5 receivers at all times that were pretty much a given starting. Running back I had Peterson and nothing else as Mcfadden busted badly for me.

The internet connection to my PS3 is acting up, so I figured I give Cloud Atlas a second watch... at least until I start getting tired.

The QB position is DEEP this year. When I picked Andrew Luck in the 6th round (69th pick overall), Kapernick and Wilson were both on the board and ranked higher than him. I waited until the 12th round (141st pick overall) to draft Eli Manning as my backup, and guys like Michael Vick, Alex Smith, and Joe Flacco were still on the board. Even if your league goes QB happy early on, you can probably use that as an opportunity to grab yourself two elite RBs and an elite WR before getting yourself a perfectly good QB when they're picking up the scraps you left for them.

Here's the team I wound up with this year.

1. Jamaal Charles RB
2. Steven Jackson RB
3. Jimmy Graham TE
4. Reggie Wayne WR
5. Jordy Nelson WR
6. Andrew Luck QB
7. Cecil Shorts WR
8. Kenny Britt WR
9. Rashard Mendenhall RB
10. Cincinnati DEF
11. Jonathan Stewart RB
12. Eli Manning QB
13. Alshon Jeffery WR
14. Dan Bailey K
15. Mikel Leshoure RB
16. Dwayne Allen TE
17. Greg Little WR
18. Aldon Smith LB
19. Marcedes Lewis TE

an RB on the same team as Thomas Brady though? With Blount waiting in the wings behind him?

Also, ive been trying to put my finger on it for WEEKS, but I got it.

I once had intercourse (well, multiple times) with a girl named Lindsay who looks JUST LIKE a brunette/purple haired version of the girl in your sig. THATS why she seems so familure.

Just saying. He was on the same team as Brady last year and had nearly 1300 and 12 TDs. And that was with Gronk, Hernandez, and Welker. This year he's got....Amendola who is a very poor man's Welker. Oh and Amendola is injury prone as well. Next you have Gronk who will get back...eventually. I'm not worried about Blount, he'll get touches but the Pats LOVE Ridley and he's their clear number one running back. Woodhead's worthless fantasy football carcass shipped off to San Diego so that clears it up as well.

I keep talking shit that im gonna take Tebow. Wouldnt it be funny if he ends being their goal line FB and getting ten TDs or something :lmao:

I saw a ESPN First Take post where Skip said that even if Brady was actually injured, it would just mean Tebow would come in and the team would be fine. I wonder if he has since revised his opinion after Tebow went like, 1 for 8 with an interception.

I think Tim Tebow may very well be cut by the time the season starts. If he's not, it'll probably be because Belicheck is going to use him for something crazy, like being their goal line FB so he can get 10 TDs or something.

Still, I'd probably use my last pick on him.

You are exactly proving why Ridley will not be as successful as he was last year.

New England no longer has receiving threats that garner the attention of multiple defenders. And by losing the Tight Ends, the Safeties and linebackers do not have to worry about them as much, and they will as such be better against the run.

I highly doubt any Pats running back reaches 1000 yards. MAYBE you get some TDs when they're in the red area, but again the safeties and linebackers will be able to worry more about the run game then in previous years, so I doubt even that will happen.

When Tom Brady is the quarterback, you ALWAYS have to worry about the pass, regardless of his receivers. Amendola might not garner the attention that Wes Welker did, but he's still going to be drawing coverage away from the RB.

And the Pats are going to be giving the ball to the RBs more often. I don't care if there's a decline in YPC, all I need is total yards and TDs.
