Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Heck yeah you did. What else did you to celebrate your birthday? Sorry your White Sox couldn't win to add to the merriment.

Outside of the aquarium, I went to my favorite hot dog joint. First time since it was flooded and they remodeled. Then I went to the driving range with friends and partook in some beers. After that we went to a bar and watched the Sox game and had a few more drinks. For the most part an awesome day.

Sounds incredibly relaxing and awesome. Color me jealous.

So I haven't taken a good shower in weeks and I think it is making me extremely cranky. Our water pressure has been shit for some time and it is like taking a fucking shower in the drizzling rain. I told my boss/landlord and he says he has checked it and everything is fine. If he wasn't so god damn cheap he'd have someone take a look just to be safe, but to his untrained eye everything looks fine.

1. could it potentially be an issue with the shower head?
2. Take your landlord to your bathroom and turn on the shower, proving to him there's a problem.
3. IS the water pressure issue just in the shower or is it all over your dwelling place?

I thought it was awesome.

It had it's advantages. But after a while it was just going through the motions and enforcing rules you don't really care about. Why should I care if somebody's sig is 100 pixels too big?

That sounds like a pretty great birthday to me. I mean, if the Sox won it would be even better, but it sounds like a great day regardless.

Maybe you should take a bath. No more worries about the water pressure, and you can pour in bubble mix and pretend that you have an awesome beard!

Oh, wait...

I'm taken aback by how good Leaving Las Vegas is. It's slightly predictable, yet captivating. Next on the cards is a necessary repeat of Scarface.

Ming!

I've yet to watch Leaving Las Vegas, but I hear generally good things.

I think Scarface is the most overrated movie of all time.

Hence why my repeated viewing is necessary, I've not seen it for years and can't remember the first half of the film all that well. I do remember Scarface being good though. Leaving Las Vegas is easily the best Nicolas Cage film I've seen, although I do need to watch Lord Of War again...

I actually really enjoyed Lord of War as well. That ones definitely worth watching again, if not just to reaffirm my belief that it was a good film.

I concur with JGlass, Scarface is easily one of the most overrated films off all time, that said though, if it wasn't for Scarface we might not have the greatness that is Breaking Bad.

Has either of you, or anyone here for that matter, watched the original Scarface, the one from 1932 that the Pacino one was rebooted from. I know it's on Netflix, I just curious if it's worth 93 mins. of my life.

My sig is actually one pixel below the limit, which is really disappointing. I wish it was just one over.

You could always add a border.

How is Scarface linked with the creation of Breaking Bad?

Nope. It was on Sky Movies a while ago and I never bothered.

Interesting comparison, but I'm unconvinced that Breaking Bad couldn't exist without Scarface. Is Scarface one of Gilligan's influences for Breaking Bad or something?

Can't say I have.

Eh, that requires me doing something. Not worth it.

1. No it ain't my shower head. I've had good water pressure until the past few weeks.
2. He knows there's a problem. I've talked to him about it.
3. It's an issue all over. The whole home is lacking in water pressure. He (boss/landlord) has been told and he says he has looked at it and says nothing is wrong. Like I said, he is too damn cheap to hire a professional to take a look. He will wait until the situation is at its worse and go from there.

Lulz. I do miss putting bubbles on my face looking like Santa and shit. However, I hate baths.

Vince Gilligan's favorite movie is Scarface, & he has often said in various interviews & on the Breaking Bad podcast that Breaking Bad is about Walt's journey from normal teacher/husband/father to becoming Scarface. He sprinkles little nods to Scarface throughout the series, with probably the most obvious being in season 5.

That's stupid, if we waits until it's at it's worst it'll likely end up costing him even more money to get it fixed, your landlord/boss is a fucking dumbass.

Totally was. I don't want it to sound like the Sox game turned it to shit, because it didn't. The day was incredible. Aquarium was just so cool. 4-D movie experience was awesome, Wild Reef section which had sharks among other fish, Oceanarium with dolphins, beluga whales, otters, seals. I could go on and on. Aquariums rule.

I like Aquariums just fine, but zoos are my shit. My little cousin is coming to visit my grandparents next weekend, and I'm going to take her to the local zoo one of those days. It's by no means the Bronx Zoo, or even the Central Park Zoo, but it's supposed to be pretty good and they've updated it.

Oh for sure. Zoos are awesome. I'm just big on the aquarium because I hadn't been there in so long. At least 10 years.
