Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I think its just because it takes Christmas, a normally joyful time, and adds murder in. I think it is a decent slasher film, but nothing great.

The slow grind to the end kills it for me. It's why I enjoy the remake more. It's a dumb fun slasher loaded with some really twisted and sickening deaths, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else.

Never seen any of those, though I have seen the remake of The Crazies. It was... okay. Better than most modern horrors as far as I'm concerned, still kinda shitty.

I guess I was tired or not paying close attention, when I watched it in theaters years ago, but I loved it the first time. Bought it on DVD a few years later, and I had to force myself to watch it two times since then.

but I never said it wasn't good. I merely said it was fucked up, and the gameplay wasn't as good as its competitor (namely COD). It was pretty good, just nothing amazing.

Fair enough. I read a little bit about it on wikipedia, sounds like an interesting take. I like the idea of a war game that doesn't glorify war.

Glad I didn't sit through all of that shit, god raw and TNA have been garbage. I NEVER though I'd enjoy Roh more than wwe or even TNA. Someone call me when this shit stops....

Whatchu talkin' about? Tonight's Raw was solid. Two terrific, PPV quality matches, plenty of Cena, and the main event was solid too. Could have used some more HHH/Heyman stuff since Trips beating on Heyman never ceases to crack me up, but otherwise a solid episode.

The movies were better than the newer episodes. Not that the newer episodes were bad or anything. They just weren't as good as the movies.

There were a few of the new episodes that were pretty fantastic, like the one where Fry, Bender, and the Professor get stuck in the time machine that only goes forward, but those movies are pretty hard to beat.

Even in black and white those steely blue eyes cut right through me like warm butter.

Definitely sad to see it go again, but Futurama's been on borrowed time ever since Comedy Central picked it up. The episode you're talking about was great. My personal favorite of the new batch was the episode that was cut into 3 segments, each animated in a different style.

If they do make another movie, they should do a crossover with The Simpsons, a la The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones.

Tigers swept the braves, thats about the only thing going well for me besides weight just falling off of me, right now. I want some pasta.... fucking carbs

J, have you seen the trailers for the new Iron man, Thor, World war z, or Fast 6? I'm a pretty big Iron man fan, Thor isnt my total favorite, but who can't like a kick ass super hero movie.

But WWZ is somthing I have to see. I've read the book over a dozen times, and I see that i'll basically be nothing like the book, but I think its going to be a great zombie flick. Something we've never really seen before.

And i'm just a fan of cars and guns in general, a TANK, J... A fucking tank bro...

Also might be buying some Naga J hot sauce. Haha, I'm gonna die. I've been on the habenero sauce for too long, this stuff is a whole new ball game though

Don't worry, pasta gives you cancer. I'm not sure if that's entirely true, but considering everything gives you cancer, it probably is.

Iron Man looks good, but they're not showing enough of the bad guys in the trailer. I'm a big Guy Pearce fan, though, so I have no doubt that he'll be stellar as Iron Patriot, and Ben Kingsly is probably more talented than Robert Downy Jr. (okay, definitely more talented), so he'll be good too.

As for the other two, I'll pass them up, maybe check out WWZ if it's on Netflix or something. I just have no interest in the Fast and Furious franchise. I liked them when I was in middle school, but I really don't care about cars all that much, and there's a reason Paul Walker and Vin Diesel aren't in anything else. World War Z just looks boring. Remember War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise? It looks a lot like that to me, and I really hated War of the Worlds. The zombie apocalypse has been done to death, and you need to put a unique spin on it if you want it to be any good. 28 Days Later, Zombieland, and I Am Legend all did that and are all generally well received. World War Z's trailers don't do anything to lead me to believe it will follow suit.

See I'm a huge zombie fan so I think this is a big spin on it. Every zombie movie sort of tells you the world is fucked, but the spin with this, is you can see the whole world fighting it off. Outside of maybe less than 50 survivors.

I'm excited for it, it can either be good. Or it canbe shitty on the level of war of the worlds like you said.

Funny enough, I hated zombie land. It just tried to hard to be a funny zombie mmovie. Shaun of the dead was kind of Meh, but had somthing that sort of clicked for me. 28 Days, and weeks later were good. I've heard of a 28 months later to finish it off.

I am legend is a fantastic movie, but i'm not to big into calling it a "zombie movie". The monsters share traits with the zombie "virus ". I've yet to read the book, but iI've accepted 28 days later virus zombies. But I'm an old school Romero zombie fan. Clock them in the head, and they are dead. If you put to much into what the zombie can do, it loses the charm of it for me. One or two zombies sshouldn't be massive brezerkers holding a brezerker dog.

. Mindless humans, in a swarm, slowly eating the world just does it for me. I know the zombies are smarter in some rRomero movies, and they look fast and smarter in World war z. But a small amount of spin never hurt. There was just too much spin in I am legend for me being the zombie purist at heart, to call it a full blown zombie movie.

I thought Zombieland was pretty good, funny and sweet. And there was still no shortage of zombie killing if that's what you're into. I liked Shaun of the Dead too.

The zombie genre is pretty loosely defined now. It used to be the dead that have risen from their graves, but in a world where science is quickly replacing mythology, audiences want somewhat plausible explanations for why a zombie outbreak happened. That's one of the reasons why 28 Days Later was so successful: it was scary because it felt plausible.

I Am Legend is NOT a fucking Zombie movie.

Yes it is. They might not be called zombies, but it's still a zombie movie. The mutants only come out at night, if they infect you with the mutation you turn into one of them. Let's not forget the infected attempt to eat the flesh of humans, dogs, or anything that's living. If I Am Legend isn't a zombie movie than Walking Dead isn't a zombie TV show.

I will eat my own testicles like over-ripe grapes if World War Z turns out to be anything but a big pile of CG-augmented shit.

In other news, I made a poster for Pacific Rim and would like to know if it's any good:

It references some stuff in the latest trailer, so here it is for context: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EZ-u457Igo

It's okay. I get the jokes, they're amusing. I wouldn't want to see the movie based on it, but it would make a pretty decent alternative movie poster with a little more variety or something, maybe adding some colors.

I could give that movie a try, I'm simple when it comes to movies. I still like to read and use my imagination more than go to movies, haha! I have no shame, that's why I never try and talk movies. I just want to be entertained, but if Bay fucks up the Turtles, and he will... I'll be pissed...

I was thoroughly entertained by Pain & Gain.

Loved that scene where Rock's co-conspirators got to literally smell what he was cooking.

I'm going to do Pain and Gain as the second part of a double feature tomorrow after I see 42. Glad to see it prevailed over your discriminating tastes, Coco.

Pain and Gain was indeed very enjoyable, it went from pretty funny the very dark towards the end though.

Oh and thoughts on these GTA fans?
