I am currently wearing a John Morrison t-shirt

Is it an "I'm gonna eat your lunch" shirt? Because that was easily his best, most thought provoking one.

Thanks to Barbosa I've gotten back into Deftones.

I'm sure Incubus will be next since I'm traveling down this path.

Not sure whether "you're welcome" or "I'm sorry" is in order.

Not a fan of them myself. Occasionally decent tunes but too much incomprehensible/unnecessary screaming.

Change (In the House of Flies) is the only song of theirs I would say that I like.

I like screaming vocals if they're done correctly. Some sound like the failed abortion of a banshee and the ears bleed accordingly from them.

Right now I'm listening to their new album Koi No Yokan, so far through 4 songs I'm digging it. It's one of those albums so far that all the songs seem to fit together like a puzzle, you barely notice when one song ends and the other begins.

All sounds like shite to me.

That is far too intricate an analysis of music for me.

I went through a 5 year stretch where I was deep into the Hardcore Punk/Thrash/Black Metal/Screamo (true screamo, not the shit they try to call screamo nowadays). I'm not that heavy into it any more but I still listen to a number of bands from those genres.

That is far too intricate an analysis of music for me.

That wasn't even a skin deep analysis of the album.

That tells you how superficial my 'appreciation' of music is.

I either like it or not. I don't care why I like it or not or how well crafted a song/album is.

I noticed that you like Kylie Minogue, so you must be a fan of pop techno/house.

That's understandable. I grew up in a family that has deep roots in music. My grandfather was a phenomenal guitar player, my great uncle was an excellent strummer as well, I have a cousin out in Portland who's indie/folk esque band got signed to a label, two other cousins and an uncle who play guitar as well. My dad doesn't play any instruments, however my mom was a damn good saxophone player from what I've been told.

I intend to pick up the guitar again one day and relearn how to play, I took lessons when I was younger from my grandfather but I never followed up. I do know my music comprehension score was off the chart even when I was only 7 years old. I believe I was the only to ever score perfect on the test in my school's history. I had the opportunity to play saxophone but I turned it down like an idiot because I didn't know any better.

Long story short, I grew up around musicians, learned how to study music, have taught myself how to pick out certain elements of songs, but yet I have never taken up a musical instrument full time. I'm not particularly great at singing, but I can rap a little bit. It's not intricate rhymes or anything but I can stay with a beat pretty easily.

I can like individual songs and not like an entire genre. Actually, the last song I downloaded was a dance song and I hate dance 'music'.

Complete opposite in my family.

I have never played an instrument of any sort.

Just got home from seeing Gangster Squad, awesome movie, tons of action, which is exactly what I wanted form this movie.

Also Josh Brolin would make a good choice for the next Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Either of you 2 heard the cover of Change by a British (I think) singer called Emma's Imagination? I posted about it in another thread recently, might be worth a listen.

How would you feel if they opted to do a Batman Beyond movie as the reboot instead?

1- I think they make more money doing a straight reboot, since more people are familiar with the traditional Batman characters & world than they are with the Batman Beyond characters & world.

2- That's not my Batman, so if I heard that's what they're going to do with the Batman Reboot then my interest level immediately drops. I've only seen like two episodes in my life & just never found it as interesting or fun, it's basically like them saying lets make Batman & kid but give him a suit like Iron Mans, that's full of weapons & gadgets. While I wasn't much of a fan of Batman Beyond I do like the theme song, so much so that I made it my ringtone.

Punk-Rock has been utter shit.

Your face has been utter shit.

And Punk/Rock has been okay. It hasn't been Cena/Rock, but that's because at the end of the day Punk isn't as good as Cena, and Rock and Cena are a much better match than Punk and Rock are (though Cena/Punk is likely the best of the three).

Still, Punk's first promo a couple weeks ago, the ridiculously long one, was good if not ridiculously long. The Rock's promos have been lacking, but The Rock concert was good for a few laughs. Besides, we all know he only has to say a few catchphrases to "electrify" the audience.

As bad as you think Punk/Rock has been, Ziggler/Rock would be an absolute disaster. Ziggler can't talk half as well as Punk and he's far and away a worse wrestler than Punk.

The build for Rock vs. Punk has been like watching two school yard bully's picking on each other. Rock has done just about nothing to make me think "Man, he's a pretty good guy" or want to cheer for him, instead he's coming off as just as much of an asshole as Punk does.

When you say wrestler I hope you don't mean only in matches. Ziggler is a much better in-ring performer than Punk. Punk-Rock could have been great but the character they have Punk doing right now is one of the most egregious wastes of talent I have seen in a long time. Booking Punk as the guy removed from the people up in a skybox vs the Rock is some of the most ******ed ass backward logic I have ever seen in wrestling. If they want a true face vs true heel match then Ziggler Rock would work much better. Punk and Rock just don't mix well right now. Rock tearing up Ziggler's posse on the mic would be great entertainment and when it comes to the match I defer to Orton in that it is hard to have a bad one with Dolph.

I think that the main thing that Punk/Rock has been somewhat lacking is that there has been no real reason given for why the Rock was given a title match months ahead of schedule.

It just once again makes Punk sound like he is right with all his criticism of backstage politicking and the preferential treatment that the likes of Cena and Rock get and the heel basically having the 'high ground' is not a good thing.

That said, I actually expect Punk/Rock to be a better match than Cena/Rock. Not a better spectacle as Punk is not Cena and Royal Rumble is not Wrestlemania but just a better match to watch. Doesn't help that Cena/Rock did very little for me in terms of the action.

The only good thing about Ziggy/Rock would be that when it failed the draw the number of buys WWE would be expecting, they would put all the blame on Ziggy, which would lead to him finding himself in the dog house for the next year & half, by which time they would hopefully forget about any push they ever wanted to give him.
