Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Yes I am. He's ordering a watered down, uglier drink.

He's a secret agent who is typically on a mission when he's ordering his drink of choice, you ever think that perhaps he orders a more watered down drink on purpose, so he he doesn't get fucked up as quickly & is still able to focus?

Just saw Zero Dark Thirty. I had a sneaking suspicion they'd get Osama in the end. It was a very good movie though, 4/5 stars from me.

This just might be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life

I have a friend and I that often discuss super hero football teams and who you would put there. The few positions I'm solid on are Wolverine at linebacker (assuming he can't use his claws), Flash at running back, Cyclops at wide reciever, and Hulk as your o-line. We frequently debate about where to put Juggernaut, and he's not as sold as Colossus being a D-end as I am.

I just had a martini. I martini with a chocolate rim. I feel so ashamed.

Having a martini is fine. Having a chocolate rim martini makes you a woman. Nothing wrong with either thing.

Stirred, or the bartender's an eejit.

Plenty of people like their martinis stirred, it's not up to the bartender. Sure, you're supposed to assume you want it stirred, but if they order it shaken it's not like you're going to tell the customer no.

Question, how many other cocktails do people express a preference for its method of mixing?

Mostly just martinis, but most drinks you automatically shake, especially if it's in a Collins glass. The only other drink I think you would even think about asking for stirred (besides a few coffee drinks) is a Manhattan/Rob Roy, but that would be an amateur request since you're not supposed to shake dark liquor.

I thought the general rule was shake things with fruit juices and stir everything else.

And yeah, Bond's an idiot and people copied him in asking for vodka martinis shaken, not stirred.

No, you shake things with sour mix and cream too, as well as with soda. Plus, a lot of one alcohol+juice or soda drinks don't get mixed, like a Screwdriver or a Cape Cod. You usually don't even have to stir those unless you're only pouring one alcohol at a time.

I just got home and this was on my Facebook and made me laugh.

You ever have a little too much to drink, then every time you burp you taste alcohol? I've yet to decide if that is cool or not. Cause sometimes when I have a sweet flavored drink, like whipped or vanilla vodka it tastes good, but if I have had other stuff it isn't good.

Oh I saw a shooting star on the way home.

I once read something that said Metropolis is within driving distance of Gotham and since most of the landmarks in Metropolis are based on NYC landmarks, that would make sense. Poor Flash has to live in bum fuck nowhere middle America Central City.

Who here knows about the expanded Star Wars universe?

Is there not a bad ass character out there with lightsabers grafted on his armor? I could have swore I read that somewhere and now I cant remember where.

Indeed, there is and he was brought up in this very thread.

I do find the arguments regarding how Darth Vader was one of the most powerful individuals in the SW Universe rather funny. Sure, he was feared and a dangerous fighter but as with every other show/film/series there is always someone or something stronger.

Even in the realms of Jedi/Sith, Vader is easily surpassed. Check out this dude.

Born Irek Ismaren but later to take on the role of "Lord Nyax," a Corellian boogey-man legend, and long rumoured to be Emperor Palpatine's son (he wasn't), he had similar Force-talents as Anakin Skywalker and became a strong Dark Jedi. However, in training with his master, he let his anger overpower him and his Master was forced to stab him through the head with his lightsabre.

However, despite severe brain damage, he managed to survive and had the added "benefit" of removing virtually all of his memory and mental faculties except for his ability to draw on the Force, which was also greatly enhanced, and monomanical hunger for more power, which he got by accessing the Force Nexus belong the old Jedi Temple on Coruscant (after which he could fly). To achieve this, he demonstrated the ability to project his monomania onto a large group of people so completely that they did nothing else other than want he told them - some would die from exhaustion and lack of food or water rather than stop working.

But as you can see, not only was he a monomanical psychopath with Force powers greater than virtually all, while recouperating from his stabbing, his mother had overseen his conversion from a Dark Jedi into a genetically enhanced killing machine "possessed with immense physical strength, having been medically altered to grow well past a normal human size [and] 8 lightsabers (whcih could not hurt him]... surgically implanted into his body along with sub-dermal armor pads."

It took three Jedi - Grand Master Luke Skywalker, Master Mara Jade Skywalker and Tahiri Veila - a Yuuzahn Vong army and a fleet to bring him down, and even then it is not confirmed that he is dead.

Obviously I mean no disrespect to Kermit who comes across a nice guy, but even though I expected to lose, honestly thought I should've won that one. Not the first time I've sighed and muttered bullshit under my breath, but the most prominent, except when that guy won even though I'd spent the majority of my RP pretending to be Hollis Hicock.

Meh, mayhaps I think I am better than I actually am.

I'm not sure why you lost that match, but the good news is that I don't think it's too much of a bad thing. I realize that it's easy for me to say that on the outside looking in and if I were to lose my match this week I'd be pretty pissed even though it might not be such a bad thing (if New Church also loses), but it looks like S.H.I.T. will be getting a feud with Empire, and possibly specifically Constantine.

I thought it was a bummer that you lost after writing what I took to be one of S.H.I.T.'s more important RPs in his history, but there's a silver lining here.

If it is any consolation the last time I lost a match that I thought I should have won was Strikeforce's loss to TNC, and that has lead to a solid feud right now.

Oh yeah, plus the whole thing looked set up for the "serious" Chris K.O to go over the two "wierdo's" in Krypto & S.H.I.T. The outcome made sense in terms of booking because it helps K.O after a dissapointing cycle against a character who like Kane I guess doesnt necessarily need a win, must be two months and counting now, Worlds Scariest Jobber. It also puts a fued over, against two or three people that I am going to struggle against.

But in a fed that doesnt really work like that and goes from the strongest RP, one has to wonder what one has to do? Attempt to be creative with mad scientists? Or go back to before, RP'ing week to week to get one over on my current opponent and end up with the same RP every round like most other people? I still retain faith that there isnt too much favouritism in there and the votes didnt come because of who`s involved, so I must accept that at least 4 out of 6 people disagree with my asessment that my RP should crack my top 3 while his shouldnt crack his top 10. Or worse, maybe they do agree.

Oh dont mind me, just stuck in a rut. The saving grace being the result makes sense from a "real booking" standpoint, and I've started something thats potentially given a character on its last legs a new lease on life. Doesnt mean I have to like it though.

TLDR: Losing this round was fucking annoying but I get there positives.
