Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I was reading in Game Informer today, ME4 is in production. They are gauging fan interest to determine if it will be a prequel to ME1 or a sequel.

While the idea of a prequel is interesting, I can't see it being as entertaining.

What the fuck would the Jets do with Vick anyways... really.

Play him at quarterback, I'm sure.

One of Mass Effect's biggest appeals is the decision making. How can you make decisions when the outcome is already determined?

I was thinking about that, and the only solution I could come up with is if it takes place during the battle that made Shepard famous. Even then, how would it play out with the choice you made at the beginning of the original when you choose if Shepard was the lone survivor, a war hero, or the ruthless soldier?

A Mass Effect sequel could be really interesting, but it would be tough to pull off if they intend to import ME decisions. A prequel would be cool if it took place in the deep past. Like before there were even humans. Maybe even go all the way and let you do alternate history, like decide on whether to implement the genophage or not.

My Facebook wall is about to make me the happiest man in the world not banging Emma Watson.

Speaking of celebrities I find very attractive, I can't be the only man that finds Rashida Jones to be absolutely beautiful. I've been watching a lot of Parks and Rec lately, and I find myself frequently jealous of her current fling.

But the geneophage was implemented in canon, so where's the fun in choosing?

I think with a sequel they'll have to do a reboot of sorts, much like they did with the Grand Theft Auto games. All the events of ME 1-3 will have happened, but they'll all have gone according to Bioware's script. I predict that both the Quarians and Geth were saved, the Rachni were spared, the Geneophage was released, and control was chosen so that EDI and the Geth are still characters available. I can't think of too many other decisions of large consequence that were made.

I think the game will feature a new slate of characters from top to bottom, though I wouldn't be surprised to see old friends as characters that you talk to on missions or something, but not crew members.

Ehhhhh let's not go that far. Just because Newman and Brando are dead doesn't mean that acting is. Don't discount Tom Hanks, Gene Hackman, Clint Eastwood, or Jackie Chan. Especially Jackie Chan.

If i wasn't so damn tired right now i would explain in detail to you why Daniel Day Lewis blows all of these people out of the water and how the only possibly actor close enough to surpass him is Gary Oldman. Alas I am seriously exhausted and have a couple of assignments due this week that need completion. My response time could take up to a week.

Wild start the season off 2-0!!!

suck it nightmare! ;)

I aint mad. The Wild have their shit together this season. Great lineups. Was a fun game to watch.

I like the Stars & am excited for Jagr being around, but they arent my favorite roster the team has had. Most of the guys are hit and miss. Plus this crap with Benn is starting to piss me off.

Not like the days of Modano, Carbonneau, Hatcher, Nieuwendyk, Sydor, Zubov, Lehtinen, etc... That roster back in the day will always be my favorite.

Every year this time I come into this thread and I can't understand what's going on:

American sports

My head

Oddly enough the sport being discussed here is hockey and not (American) football, which is two weeks away for the Super Bowl. The NHL did have a lockout this year, though, so instead of starting their season in October like they normally do they started their season in January, which is why many of us are very excited about hockey.

The Minnesota Wild are a team from Minnesota, home of Justin's favorite baseball team, the Twins, and least favorite football team, the Vikings. I guess his Twins love has carried over to the Wild, who are a very exciting team this year as they brought in two of the league's best players in Zack Parise and Ryan Suter.

nightmare likes the Dallas Stars, whom oddly enough used to play in Minnesota as the North Stars. In the late 90s/early 2000s the Dallas Stars were somewhat of a powerhouse in the league and won a Stanley Cup, though they were defeated by my New Jersey Devils in the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals in spectacular fashion. Since then they've been up and down, but nightmare is excited about the team this year.

Does that clear things up for now? Would you like me to explain to you what's happening in football?

Not only do I think Dolph Ziggler has the second best odds of winning this year's Rumble, but I'm hoping he does.

Have a nice day, JGlass. :)

Is it odd to say I'm a fan of both the Wild and the Stars? I grew up being a Stars fan since they used to be the North Stars but also a Wild fan since they're inception.

I suspect your summation will be along the lines of "THE PATRIOTS ARE NOT IN THE SUPERBOWL! WOOHOO!"

I'm actually more happy that the 49ers are in the Super Bowl than the Patriots being out of it, especially since the 9ers won that crazy game whereas the Ravens pretty much locked the thing up early in the 4th quarter.

But yes, I'm quite happy the Patriots are not in the finals.

Feel free to school me on the football too seeing as we're getting close to the Superbowl.

There are two conferences, and AFC and the NFC, that are part of the same league, the NFL. Each conference has their own playoff to determine their champion and then each conference's champion meets in the Super Bowl.

On the NFC side we have the San Francisco 49ers who had a first round bye and beat the Packers and Falcons to become the NFC Champions. They are lead by quarterback Colin Kaepernick who took over for Alex Smith towards the end of the season. Kaepernick is unproven in the playoffs, but he has a strong arm and is a good runner which makes him a constant threat to defenses. The 49ers biggest strength, however, is their defense. They allowed the third lowest yards per game this season and ranked 4th in both passing and rushing defense, meaning relying on either one strategy spells doom for their opposing team. Perhaps more importantly they allowed the second fewest points per game with 17.1.

On the AFC side we have the Baltimore Ravens who beat the Indianapolis Colts handily in their first playoff game, an OT game against the Denver Broncos that had the entire Chesapeake Bay holding their collective breath, and finally defeating the New England Patriots in a game where few people gave the Ravens a chance. The Ravens are lead by one of the most charismatic players to grace the NFL, Ray Lewis. Lewis plays middle linebacker for the team and is widely considered to be one of the best at the position of all time. This is his last season, making this unexpected playoff run an even more compelling story.

Unlike the 49ers and their impressive stat line, the Ravens were just average on both sides of the ball this regular season. They ranked 16 in total offense and 17 in total defense, putting them in the middle of the pack in both categories. Their success in the playoffs can be attributed to their quarterback, Joe Flacco, playing much better than most folks give him credit for and the hard work of wide receivers Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin, as well as the no-quit work ethic of both his running backs, Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce.

The 49ers are our friend NorCal's favorite NFL team (unless he's more of an Oakland Raiders fan, but I think he likes them evenly), but IC25 will likely be rooting for the Ravens as the 49ers eliminated his favorite team, the Packers. I will be rooting for the 49ers because they are my favorite NFC team (I'm a Jets fan, and they're in the AFC).

Any questions?

And face Del Rio or The Rock? Want to bet on it? I have a great name/gimmick for you.

Somewhere, D-Man is wearing Coco's skin as a suit.

That's a terrifying image.

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the ice hockey on Saturday night.

It certainly helped that I had been on the drink for most of the previous 36 hours (the pictures of my group wearing ice hockey jersies, sombreros and fake moustaches provide further testimony) and that the Belfast Giants beat their Nottingham rivals to close the gap at the top of the league.

I like to imagine that Irish hockey is mostly fighting with a few minutes saved for goal scoring and what not. Please don't correct me, I'd like to hold onto this image.

There were no actual gloves off fights but Belfast's opponents on the night, Nottingham Panthers (it is a British league after all), are a 'physical' team to say the least. Plenty of big hits.

Ahhh of course, I should have realized it was a British league. I do, after all, play as Nottingham Forrest in FIFA08, a team that boasts Steve Nasri at CMF and Dimitar Berbatov as a striker.

Yeah, but a lot of the original North Star fans felt betrayed when the team moved from Minnesota to Dallas. The Red Wings and Wild haven't committed that type of betrayal.

I would've likely been a North Stars fan they still been around when I started getting into hockey, I've been following the Wild since they came into the league.
