Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I read four posts of a 60+ post long thread in the TNA section.

It reminded me why I don't post non spam anymore. Dear God, it's awful. Aren't spam sections supposed to be worse? It's the only place to get any decent opinions anymore.

I still need you buy a new Skyrim disk. I got WWE '13 and Far Cry 3 yesterday so it may get put on hold a bit, but I had barely gotten into the latest DLC.

I'm going to need you to get into Far Cry 3 ASAP so we can talk about it. The game is absolutely ridiculous, but a lot of fun. I just responded to your post in the video game thread with some input on the game.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Homeland yesterday. A little slow in the beginning, but a pretty good show.

I hope it's good, it won a shit ton of Emmys.

Alright folks, need to start a new series & the choices are down to 2. Haven or Eureka? Thoughts, ideas? Which is better?

I couldn't really get into Suits, but I do see the appeal. I'm not generally interested by law shows I suppose. Now there was a solid month a year ago or so when they showed Royal Pains after Raw, and I really enjoyed that show, probably because of the sexy Indian chick.

Royal Pains was pretty solid from what I remember. Never been a huge TV watcher outside of various forms of animation. Really need to pick back up on Breaking Bad. I stopped during one of the first episodes of season 3 because of school kicking my ass and forgot what episode I'm on, and now my PS3 isn't connecting to the internet so Netflix is less convenient than it was.

Plus right now I'm WAY into Virtue's Last Reward. I encourage anyone with a 3DS to pick it up, as well as the game before it in the series, Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors. Intense and thrilling piece of work. Of course, that's if you like a lot of reading, though VLR did include a damn good voice track for the "novel" bits.

Well, since Haven has Edge and it gets the JGlass\NorCal seal of approval- thats the choice.

Trying to get into Boardwalk, but its somewhat slow in the first few episodes. Steve Buscemi is quite good though so far.

I've been reading some of the match of the year threads, particularly those discussing Meltzer. Is it just me or do people give out 5* ratings far too often?

Considering a 5 star match should be reserved for matches that are considered to be the best wrestling matches of all time, yes. In fact, I don't think there's been a single 5 star match this year.

I'm inclined to agree. There have been some fantastic matches this year, but I can't think of any off the top of my head that I will probably still remember vividly in a couple years. There have been moments I will remember for a long time, but a single moment doesn't make a match great.

I've never been a fan of Meltzer's ratings. People put too much stock in them. I get that he's one of the few reputable journalists in the field, but his word isn't iron-clad.

I won't say that I don't rank matches, but the entire idea of it is sketchy anyway. What one person likes won't necessarily be a reflection of what another person thinks. I read KB's reviews, but I use them as a gauge of if something is great, good, or shit. If I want something more concrete than that, I'll watch it myself.

If you have a kid that gets into wrestling about 10 years from now, are you going to tell him about Cena vs. Lesnar at Extreme Rules? Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus at Extreme Rules? Triple H vs. Taker in HIAC? Or are you going to tell him about Cena vs. Punk at MitB and Joe vs. Styles vs. Daniels at Unbreakable 05? The first three matches I mentioned were great, but the latter two were EPIC.

Haven was inspired by a Stephan King short story, & has Edge, plus the girl playing Audry in the show is pretty hot. I haven't watched Eureka since ECW was on Syfy so I really can't say much more than the first few season were pretty decent.

Suits is currently the most solid show on USA Network. Everybody on that show is just so damn cool.

No it's not, both Burn Notice & White Collar are far superior in just about every way.

The first season is relatively slow, but it establishes all the characters roles really well and allows the second season to up the ante when things start kicking off. Stick with it though and you'll be rewarded with a second season that always has at least one moment of "What the fuck just happened there!?" (in a good way) in every episode.

Glad to seal me seal of a approval means nothing to you.

Pretty much the same for Homeland, except substitute Steve Buscemi for Damien Lewis. It took about 5 episodes before things started to pick up now the show is starting to get really interesting.
