Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Tree Hockey. I dig basketball during the playoffs. I just can't stay invested through a 82 game season. I'll watch highlights, but once Football goes into the off-season I usually don't watch ESPN at all until August.

I just watch a few select teams. However I will watch the playoffs with vigor. I will follow an entire season of NASCAR if I can.

I can't argue with any of that. You know football more than you let on, you know. I never really see you talking about it.

Lulz, I remember getting the same reaction from IDR and Lowdown last year during the Devils/Ranger and Devils/Kings fiasco. I guess I rarely talk about sports here because I primarily come to this forum to talk wrestling and interact with fellow wrestling fans. I also have a big interest in film and television, but I'm still a stranger to the movies and TV forum. I'll talk about it with friends and stuff, but given the nature of internet forums to heat up even the most innocuous of conversations, I'd rather not get sucked into some of the endless debates around here.

The only sport I actively follow is Tennis. Mainly the women's side, because although the quality's probably lower, there are more than four relevant players and games don't last forever because nobody's able to hit a winner.

Shame about Serena being boringly dominant though.

Who's your preferred team, Nate? I'm a Rams fan at heart, but it's hard to devote my time to their garbage. You support any of the Missouri teams?

I don't follow tennis myself, but I'm always happy to watch it when it's on. I find both men and women's tennis equally entertaining, though the women's side is definitely more competitive throughout the tournament where the men really only you having guessing in the finals, as even the semi-finals can be pretty one-sided.

He'd almost definitely get the number one slot in Cleveland, Oakland, Denver, Jacksonville, 49ers, Ravens, Steelers, St. Louis, and Miami. He'd be a potential number one for teams like Seattle, Washington, Indianapolis, Tennessee and San Diego.

Cleveland,, Oakland, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Miami for sure. Hell he was arguably the #1 when he left Pittsburgh.

I'd give him the slight nod over Seattle's guys, same with Tennessee.

I'd put him on a similar level to a healthy Garcon in Washington, and Malcolm Floyd in San Diego.

Baltimore I'd take Boldin and possibly Torrey Smith. Denver I would take Demaryius Thomas. San Fran, I might take Crabtree if they had consistency at QB. Indy I would take Wayne, and I might take Austin Collie if his umpteenth concussion/destroyed leg hasn't killed him yet.

Edit: Damn I missed the bulk of the discussion. Oh well my point stands.

What it really boils down to is how good do you think Santonio Holmes is. If you take his stats in his days in Pittsburgh and factor in the fact that he's likely at the tail end of his prime (which I suppose is a debate in and of itself), you have to imagine that he'd be a considerable threat if he had a better QB throwing to him and was in an offense designed around the pass. With two games left in the season and Santonio Holmes having bigger years early in his career than most of the guys you mentioned are having this year, I'm sticking to my theory that he'd be a number one option on anywhere between 10-12 teams in the NFL.

Santonio Holmes, I do not like that man. Just one of those guys I could do without. I think he could be a borderline number one receiver, but I think he fits more from the two spot.

Watching SD and for some reason I dig Sexy Ref (aka Brad Maddox). I can't put my finger on why, but I just like the dude.

You gotta be KIDDING me. He's my number one least favorite thing in the WWE right now. Yeah, I hate him more than Ziggler. Every second he's on my television is time I could be spending doing something more worthwhile, like seeing how many staples I can hammer into my arm before vomiting.

That's how I feel about Santino, Barrett, or Gabriel.

He is vastly loved by the majority of my friends. I don't know if it is due to the fact that he is "sexy ref" and we referred to him as that instead of his actual name. I don't care if he does anything or not, but I like the guy. I'm easily amused. I also love the Primetime Players, those guys get me going.

I fucking love Santino.

guys get me going.

Santino rules, now you're just embarrassing yourself. Though I do understand how giving someone a silly nickname can make you like them more. I don't hate Delberto anymore. In fact, I practically nothing him.

I just got my grades for the semester back: C+, B+, A-, A+ for a total of a 3.33 GPA. Sadly, that brings my overall GPA just below 3.5 to 3.497, which means if I want to get it back above 3.5 I need to get at least one A next semester. That shouldn't be too difficult, though, as I'm only taking two classes and their both film classes, which is my jam.

I prefer jelly to jam.

I just found this little snippet in the Shelton Benjamin thread. Wanna guess which esteemed mod posted it?

I wasn't a fan of the "World's Greatest Tag Team" either, that name hardly fit them as I can think of at least a dozen other teams who were far better.

I wish someone had the time to go through all of Dagger's worst non-spam posts and make a thread in the GSD that highlights all his shortcomings as an intelligent person. You know, just for fun.

My mom was watching some TV show her very very very evangelical Christian friend recommended to her. My mom is religious, but she doesn't go to church or anything like that, and she has no issue with gays or anything of that sort. She called me in to watch with her for a few seconds as this old fat preacher was giving his sermon.

In the ten minutes I was there he mentioned how God would punish that Muslim Obama for being behind the Syrian embassy attacks, how no one who lives in Germany will get into heaven because all Germans are responsible for the Holocaust, how the US is offending God by not attacking Russia and taking out possible Anti-Christ candidate Vladimir Putin, how the Jews deserved what they went through in the Holocaust, even though the Germans would also be punished for it, and then he went on to talk about how we should invade Iran to take away their nukes and show them the light of God, but only after we kill the majority of them.

How do these people get on TV?

You got yourself a movie.

If I could find just one level-headed non-idiot to talk with about wrestling with in real life, I might never come back here.

A tall task. Not because it'd be a difficult to make a case against his intellect. But because of the sheer volume of his unintelligent contributions to the forum.

Is it impossible for people on this forum to love wrestling? The Wrestling spam threads are absolutely ridiculous and my opinion about Haiku Hogan has changed dramatically, i don't give a shit about buyrates, i don't give a shit about ratings and i certainly don't give a shit about how good or bad one year was compared to another. Stop being so fucking bitter and try to enjoy the product.

If people want to debate this stuff, and they regularly do on the internet, the only real way to measure success and objectively win the argument is the bring up money. Not seeing the problem here.

Want to enjoy the product? Enjoy the product. But don't pretend that anyone ought to follow your example. And don't you dare cast aspersions on my love of wrestling. People can show that love in different ways. Get off your high horse.

Basically, if you don't give a shit, nobody's forcing you to stay here.

I think some people genuinely enjoy the structure that professional wrestling provides, and part of that structure is pushing the top drawing stars to the moon. Hell, even I am a fan of the structure and patterns that one sees in professional wrestling; it provides me with an enjoyment similar to how I enjoy seeing winning patterns in other athletic competition, or even film and television.

If this is how people enjoy professional wrestling, who are you or I to say they're wrong for enjoying it that way? Were ECW fans wrong for enjoying blood and hardcore? Are CHIKARA fans wrong for enjoying ridiculousness in wrestling? Everyone finds different aspects of wrestling enjoyable, so let them enjoy it. I'm just glad we're part of a forum that is generally accepting of various different types of fandom.
