General WrestleMania XXIV Discussion

Despite WrestleMania being indeed the biggest show of the year, I also believe that $70 is completely absurd, even when you have such things as the prestige historical factor and high definition present. In my opinion, the show's cost on PPV should AT MOST be $60, and nothing more. I do understand where they are possibly coming from with this, with all the supposedly hard work (only time will tell) that the stage crew has put into transforming the Citrus Bowl into a 'perfect' WrestleMania setting, but still - it's just too much. I can't remember the last time in which one particular program on television required for the person to take so much money out of their pockets - I mean, it's one or two months worth of cable (bill) that we're talking about here!

If $70 is to be, then this WrestleMania should be worth every cent of it, every second of it - basically, worth it all because if it's not, then ouch, can't say that it wasn't a "crime" that was committed.

You guys are incredibly harsh. How can anyone say this is a bad card?

MITB-Whether or not you like MITB, its an awesome spotfest and this year will feature the most athletic and exciting athletes in the business. Plus, nobody knows for sure who will win. Thats exciting. And to uncle jake...I'm a bit shocked that you're calling a ladder match filler. I guess you were waiting for the wrestlers that light themselves on fire and blow one another up match. That's on another PPV.

ECW Title- Whether you like his character or not, Chavo is an extremely athletic guy. I'm assuming he'll be in there with kane or Dreamer which will be a good match. Do you guys remember the days of matches like Earthquake v. Adam Bomb? If this is the worst match (sans Bunnymania) I think we'll be ok.

BunnyMania- Utter shit. They always are. However, I thank Vince for giving me a few minutes to smoke a bowl take a piss and ready myself for what's next. Plus, those of you who think this will last longer than 3 minutes in the ring, rent some old Manias They never last long.

Umaga v. Batista- This match could steal the show. Why? because nobody expects it to. These guys are good workers and right now Umaga is in the midst of a nice push. It will be a good match. Mark my words.

Belfast Brawl- Um, so the storyline sucks....maybe its just because I'm not 11 anymore but i just don't care about storylines. All i want is gnarly chair shots, broken tables and an awesome brawl and these guys know how to deliver. When you're on your 3rd or 4th beer and having fun do you really care about the origins of this story?

Flair v. HBK- If this match doesn't amaze I will eat my words. It has been well built and Whatever HBK touches, turns to gold. Flair will no doubt have his best possible match as it is his last.

Mayweather v. Bog Show- No this won't be incredible but it could be good and who knows what will come of it. A boxing match, a wrestling match, a brawl, interference? this match has been built well.

Edge v Undertaker- These are the two biggest and most talented stars on Smackdown and those who think Edge looks bad aren't watching. last week he destroyed the Taker. At the Survivor Series he detroyed the Taker. Edge and Taker will tear the fuckin' house down.

Cena v. Orton v. HHH- Who will win? Some say cena, some say HHH. when was the last time a Mania main event was this unpredictable? They will impress.

What do most of you want? These are great matches and Wrestlemania has been amazing just about every year except last year.

Well I called Directv today about WM24 and in HD it cost $64.99 and I would say thats a little steep compared to last years what $50-$55. But I guess I wasn't to far off on the $70 and who knows some places might be charging the $70 or more. Like with UFC PPVs they charged $10 more for the same standard PPV from Dish to Directv ( I think its changed since though).

Really think WWE could of picked up a huge buyrate if the price was $50 or less considering I think alot of boxing fans are interested in it with Mayweather. But who knows lol.

welp see, there you go. 65 $ is what it costs, and I defy someone to come in here and truthfully say their cable provider will be charging more. I juuuuust doooont belive it LOL. The numbers and stories on the news site are about as inflated as the numbers WWE uses in kayfabe.

Here is what I think should happen:

24 Man Battle Royale
I think, for storyline purposes they should add The Edge Heads to this, in place of the Duece and Domino. At the end of the match I think it should come down to Kane and The Edgeheads with Kane overcoming the two on one and advancing to the ECW title match. I also think they should try to fit this on the main card.

Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero
I think this should be a short match with Kane dominating then The Edgeheads hang around to cost Kane the match as he diverts his attention to take care of them and Chavo should win with a roll up and grab of the ropes cheating his way to victory. This match would simply set up a foreshadowing to the WHC match later.

Money In The Bank
CM Punk, John Morrison, Carltio and Shelton Benjamin haven't been pushed enough prior to the PPV to win this match. If any of them do can you really see them looking as a threat to any of the two main champions over the next 12 months. That leaves 3. Chris Jericho would not need the Money In The Bank because fans except him as a headliner anyway. Out of the remaining two MVP would stand more to gain than Kennedy who is slightly more excepted as a possible headliner. I think MVP should win here and on his celebration the next week on Smackdown! should be interuted by Matt Hardy. Whom he should drop the US title to before cashing in.

JBL vs. Finlay
I think Vince McMahon should get involved in this fued again. When it appears Finlay has JBL beat Vince should run in and interupt. Hornswoggle should then appear from under the ring with a cain but just as everyone thinks hes gonna help Finlay he should turn on him, helping JBL get the win, and form a Dr Evil-Mini Me style relationship with McMahon.

Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels should win and shake hands with Flair in the emontional final match of his career.

Edge vs. The Undertaker
I think Vickie Guerrero should make this match no DQ to allow outside interfearence. Here is how I think the finish should go down. The Undertaker has Edge in the triangle choke when The Edgeheads run in and attack Taker just has he battles back Chavo should blindside Taker with a shot with the ECW title and follow up with a frog splash. Edge then rolls into a cover but only gets a two. The Edgeheads should then hit Taker with the conchairto as he gets to his feet. Cover again. Two again. Now as Taker gets to his feet, Edge drills him with a huge spear. The cover but still only two. Vickie then orders Chavo and The Edgeheads into the ring to finish the job. But before they cn a huge explosion goes off in the enteranceway and down comes Kane. He delivers chokeslams all round to chavo and the edgeheads. Edge then tries to blindside Kane with a chair but only succeeds with getting the chair booted into his face followed by a chokeslam for good measure. Vickie then makes the mistake of trying to stop Kane and is chased trough the crowd. Back in the ring now its down to 1 on 1 Taker gets a 2 off kane assault on Edge, the two can go back and forth for a minute or two when edge finally sucumbs to the dreaded tombstone.16-0.

Umaga v. Batista
The stipulation they should add to this match if that is Umaga beats Batista then Batista must go to RAW and vice versa. Batista should win here but Umaga should win the rematch to move on to a fued with Undi'.

Ashley/Maria v. Beth Phoneix/Melina
This match should be interuppted before its even began by Santino. The farmilar sound of breaking glass should then cause an eruption in the arena and Austin should give Santino a stunner and have a mania beer celebration

Big Show v. Floyd Mayweather
Rey Mysterio should come out during this match and distract Show allowing Mayweather to pick up the win.

Randy Orton v. John Cena v. Triple H
I hate him too but I think John Cena should win here, to keep his wrestlemania undeafted and always leaves with a title streak going, which ends next year against The Undertaker. Triple H should eventually win the fued as he has more options, he can turn heel after hes beaten Cena at Backlash or Judgment Day and done his fued with the last heel he has to fued with JBL. Then turn heel on HBK and have fueds with the RAW returning Batista, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and eventually drop it at next years Mania to a babyface Kennedy. Cena can go to Smackdown and set things in motion for his Undertaker fued at WM25.

Ok guys, Wrestlemania is upon us! Here are my predictions:

24 Man Battle Royal
I really hope Kane wins the Battle Royal. He deserves to have a World Championship

ECW Championship Match
As much as I want Kane to win however, I think Chavo will retain via DQ.

Playboy Bunny Match
Dont really care about this match but Maria and Ashley will win. I hope and expect Santino to make his presence felt in this match.

Batista-Umaga
I think this will be a better match than people think it will be. Batista gets the win with the Batista Bomb.

Belfast Brawl
I think will be a very fun match to watch. JBL excells in stipulation matches such as this where we he forced to brawl. With the help of Hornswoggle, Finlay wins.

Money in the Bank
Before Jeff Hardy was suspended, he was my pick to take it. Now who knows? I expect another great MITB, with Shelton stealing the show. As for who will win it, I think it will Mr. Kennedy. If he doesnt win, CM Punk will.

Show-Mayweather
I am curious to see what happens in this match. I just cant see Mayweather losing. I think he will cheat somehow to beat Show.

Flair-Michaels
IMO, this will be the match of the night. HBK will put "Old Yeller" out of his misery.

Edge-Undertaker
16-0, enough said. Taker new champ. I just hope Edge doesnt get him DQed.

HHH-Cena-Orton
I'm pulling for Orton to win this match. He needs it more than both guys. However, thats not going to happen because he will be the guy getting pinned or tapping out. At first I said Cena, but because hes filming a movie, im going with HHH to win it. Should be a great match regardless of who wins.

I think this will be a great Wrestlemania, better than last years.

In a perfect world, the following would transpire at Wrestlemania 24...

24-Man Battle Royal
Tommy Dreamer wins and goes on to challenge Chavo to an Extreme Rules match for the ECW Championship. Nice showings for Kane and Elijah Burke however, who would be runner-ups.

ECW Championship: Extreme Rules
Tommy Dreamer vs. Chavo Guerrero
Dreamer defeats Chavo via pinfall after a sick DDT through a table.

Money In The Bank
CM Punk manages to get the briefcase after Matt Hardy delivers a side effect on MVP from off the top of the ladder. Wait for it...

JBL vs. Finlay
A good brawl with nothing on the line. Doesn't matter who wins.

Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels superkicks Flair into retirement, they hug, cry, so on, so forth.

Edge vs. The Undertaker
Edge gets himself disqualified. Edge keeps his title, Undertaker keeps his streak. Pissed off, Undertaker chokeslams and tombstones Edge then leaves. Then all of a sudden... CM Punk's music hits! The crowd pops. He's cashing in his MITB briefcase. Punk delivers the GTS, pins Edge, gets his revenge and wins the World title! Why not? It'd be unexpected. Besides, this won't be the headliner anyway, they can be as crazy as they want. This is what I would do.

Umaga v. Batista
Umaga demolishes the no-talent hack to cement the obvious; RAW is the flagship show.

Ashley/Maria v. Beth Phoneix/Melina
Not much can happen that would be exciting other than a wardrobe malfuction.

Big Show v. Floyd Mayweather
If Big Show loses, any way, don't care who interferes, there is no justice.

Randy Orton v. John Cena v. Triple H
Orton retains because the world doesn't need another Cena or HHH title run.

My predictions for this year's biggest event:

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H

I am really looking forward to this match. No, it probably won't be "great," but I think it will be very good and very entertaining. The match has been built well, in my opinion, and I think this match will do its job and give this year's WrestleMania a pretty good close. As for who will win? Its obviously down to Cena and Triple H, but I wouldn't neccisarily count out Randy Orton completely. Orton may still win, but very unlikely. I will go w/ Triple H though, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Cena win either. And I highly doubt anyone will be cashing in any Money in the Bank after this at all.
WINNER - Triple H

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge vs. The Undertaker

For the first four weeks of this rivalry, it wasn't really built properly as others have mentioned. However, I think the last two weeks on SmackDown! have intensified the whole match a little bit. These past two weeks probably should have occured two weeks sooner, with two more weeks of build. But, never-the-less, the match will still be good. A classic? Probably not, but maybe. I think what will, or at least should happen, is that Edge should somehow steal a victory, or maybe wins by DQ or count-out, or tons of interference; but right when Edge is about to leave, the match is ordered to restart, and then 'Taker ends up getting the win via the Tombstone (I hope to God 'Taker doesn't win using that new submission hold...). I think this type of ending will really surprise people in that they will think for a minute of two that Edge has actually ended Undertaker's undefeated streak, only to have the match continue and Undertaker wins his 6th World Title.
WINNER - Undertaker

Battle for Brand Supremacy
Batista vs. Umaga

Should be a decent match. Nothing special, but nothing too dull. The superior brand is obviously RAW, but on this night, I think SmackDown! will be winning. I've heard that they have plans for this feud to continue past 'Mania, so I could see a controversial finish of some sorts, as in Umaga having Batista beat but the ref is down, or something along those lines. And than when the ref is back up, Batista takes out Umaga and pins him. Either way, I see a Batista victory, with Umaga giving a strong showing.
WINNER - Batista

ECW Championship Match
Chavo Guerrero vs. Winner of Battle Royal

I want Chavo to lose the title, and I think he might. I want Chavo to lose the title to Kane....but I think he won't. Originally, I was with everybody else that said Kane would be beating Chavo for the title, but now I think Kane won't. As much as I wish it would happen, I don't think Kane will ever hold any world gold again, but hopefully I'm wrong. I could see Kane winning the Battle Royal, and then being screwed over during the Title Match....which is a shame, in my opinion. But beside all of that, I highly doubt that WWE would have all three Champions drop their titles on the same night. But, I wouldn't mind it at all, personally.
WINNER - I guess I'll go w/ Chavo Guerrero.

The Biggest vs. The Best
Big Show vs. Floyd "Money" Mayweather

Originally, I was not really wanting to see this match...but now, I think I really do. The match won't be "good" by any stretch of the imagination, however I think it will be pretty entertaining. Probably won't last too long, which is a good thing, but I think it will get the people in the Citrus Bowl to make a lot of noise. As for who will win? Mayweather, in some way. I absolutely do not see Mayweather losing, as he is the celebrity guest. But on Wrestlezone.com today, they said something about a "big swerve" in this match that "nobody will see coming." That only makes it all the more interesting, but don't ask me what the swerve will be because I honestly don't really have any idea.....which is a very good thing.
WINNER - Floyd Mayweather, somehow.

Belfast Brawl
Finlay vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield

Some people have said that they don't care at all about this match, but I personally can't wait to see it. The storyline may be a bit stupid, but it has served its purpose in that Finlay and JBL have a ton of bad blood now. I wanna see a lot of blood, chairs, and other shit in this match because I think as long as this match is a blood bath, it will be just fine. And I think that is the route they are gonna take with it. I just hope its extremely violent and graphic, if not, than this match will fail miserably. I think it was a poor choice to leave McMahon out of the last few weeks of the storyline, but I think he will still make an appearance during this match along with Hornswoggle. Hopefully this ends the entire storyline....though, I wouldn't mind seeing the storyline continue AS LONG as Mr. Kennedy came down to the ring and aligned himself w/ McMahon and JBL, claiming that he is McMahon's real son. But, other than that unlikely scenrio, the storyline should end here.
WINNER - Finlay

Career Threatening Match
Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels

I can't wait to see this. I think of all of the matches, this may be the one I am most looking forward to. No, Ric Flair isn't anything like he used to be, but with HBK in there, I'm sure the match will be pretty good. At least decent...but that's not the most important thing. The most important aspect of this match is the crowd reaction, the drama, and the magnitude of it all. Will The Nature Boy's career end at WrestleMania 24, or will he live to fight another day? Personally, I hope to GOD that Flair retires at 'Mania. I think it is entirely fitting and appropriate for it to end on the grandest stage of em all, and I think it needs to. If Flair wins, which I think he may actually end up doing, I think that that will be a big mistake. Ric Flair needs to retire now. He is already 10-15 years too late, but to go on any further just wouldn't be fair. I hope HBK and Flair steal the show tomorrow night, and I hope HBK wins and Flair wrestles his very last match. I hope Ric Flair never wrestles again after tomorrow night, but I know that there is a chance he may, even if he does lose. At first, I thought Flair was pretty much guaranteed to lose this match, but as the weeks have progressed, I think he actually stands a pretty good chance of winning (not that I want him to). So let's hope Michaels gets the job done.
WINNER - Shawn Michaels....but if Flair won, it wouldn't surprise me (though it would disappoint me).

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho vs. Carlito vs. CM Punk vs. MVP vs. John Morrison

This one should be interesting. Not only is this the most unpredictable match of the night (in my opinion), but it should be highly entertaining as well. I don't see how it couldn't be. I hope this match is given around 18-20 minutes, just like last year, but I think this could end up being the best MITB Ladder Match in history. As for the winner, its down to four in my view: Jericho, Kennedy, MVP, and CM Punk. Some people have said that Y2J doesn't need this victory to challenge for the title, and while that may be true, I don't know if the WWE would actually do that these days. I wouldn't put it past them at all to go ahead and give Jericho the Money in the Bank so that he could challenge for the title. But, who knows. Jericho is my second choice to win, because my first is.....
WINNER - ...CM Punk

BunnyMania
Maria & Ashley vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina

Who honestly gives a shit? But on a side note, am I the only one that isn't really attracted to any of the four divas in this match? Maria in Playboy doesn't tickle my fancy one single bit.
WINNER - Beth & Melina

Unlike what many people have said, I think this year's WrestleMania will be bad-ass. It has all of the ingrediants for a good show. Will it be the best WrestleMania of all-time? No, not even close. But I still say it will be highly entertaining. Most of the matches are at least intriguing, and I think I will be happy that I've ordered the show. Most people on these forums just choose to be negative about it, and since there's no HBK/Angle, or no Hart/HBK, or no Rock/Austin, people just choose to think that this show will be complete shit...when I doubt that's the case at all. But even if this show is the number one greatest show in the history of performing arts, people on these forums will still complain about nearly everything. And that is a fact.

So, the bottom line for me is, I am looking forward to seeing this year's WrestleMania, and I think it will deliver a really good show. For those of you that absolutely refuse to even try to enjoy the show, well, that's your problem.

Ok so just over 17 minutes ago, the countdown for WM on wwe.com was at 24 hours away, which over here in the UK would mean WM starting at 10pm tommorow, but if i'm not mistaken it starts at 12am and finishes at 4am, anyone care to help me out on this? :S

It starts at midnight for us in England. Ive already ordered it and the start time says midnight. Its a rinse on America, £15 normal or HD, which would be like $30 for them? Cept they pay more, funny eh.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE has learned that TNA Wrestling has plans of flying an airplane over the Citrus Bowl arena tomorrow with an attached banner that reads something along the lines of "Watch TNA Impact."

While WWE has already informed their cameramen and production crew to make sure the banner is not shown on television, the 70,000 plus fans in attendance will be able to read it. According to Meltzer numerous incidents have occurred over the weekend involving TNA and WWE.

Im sorry, but how desperate are TNA? They have to attach themselves to the WWE to get their name across? Thats just low. Ive lost all respect for them, but to be honest, I hardly had any to begin with. Im not spamming here, just laying into TNA. Just my opinion. It's a classless act IMO.

TNA is as classless as WCW was when putting out WWE results on TV. TNA think people will tune into TNA from seeing a banner. TNA thinks that no wrestling fan knows who TNA is. In this day in age of TV, TIVO, & The Internet, every wrestling fans knows about TNA and they know that TNA sucks. And to use Wrestlemania as your one big shot isn't going to work as most people in the stands will be watching the show in the ring and the banner will never make TV so TNA great money move.

Back to Mania, more and more the event is growing me as a whole. Its like the superbowl in it that it doesn't matter who's playing or who's wrestling Its Wrestlemania and it alone should be a reason to see it. Hell in the superbowl your team may not be playing, but you tune in. and I was thinking about just waiting for the results, but I'm ordering it in hope like any superbowl, the event shocks me & is good.

For the record, I find Melina and Beth Phoenix hot. lol

On a more related note... the banner thing? I have to say, ballsy move from TNA's part and like you said, it's not anymore classless than WCW spoiling Monday Night RAW. And if anything, it may help more than hurt, unless Vince McMahon re-hires Muhammad Hassan to hijack the plane as it flies over the Citrus Bowl.

The banner thing will have no effect, think about it, its being held in Orlando, thats the home of TNA, so they will already have a large fan base on there, there are what 70,000 people there and if you are paying money to go to Wrestlemania, you are a big fan and already know about TNA. Its not going to air on the broadcast, so it doesn't mean anything, I mean what will it really accomphlish?

Regarding Mania' as a whole, its going to be great, Mania' always is, i am really looking forward to it, every match should be entertaining in one way or another and its Ric Flairs last match, at least most likely, so that makes it even more special.

My thought on this years Wrestlemania is that its going to be way greater than last years one, and i think its going to be enjoyable and good. Every match except the bunny mania has got me interested in one way or the other and quite frankly every match except the bunny mania should be good in one shape or form, so this WrestleMania should be great and im looking forward to it.

WWE Championship:

This match wont be the best main event ever, but its got three guys, that i think, work well with each other, and it should be enjoyable as a result. I dont wont HHH to win the title as i think he doesnt need anymore title reigns to his resume, so i think Orton should retain or Cena to win. Cena should win, cause he didnt lose the title in the first place, and it would keep his undefeated streak at mania in tact, it could come in handy in years to come. But i think Orton should retain to cement his place as one of the top heel champions.

World Heavyweight Championship

This should be a great match considering the particpants. now the build hasnt been that great, and lets just hope they can fully deleiver their potential, both Undertaker and Edge in this match. If they do that, then this should be the best match we have seen in years, really looking forward to it. Undertaker wins though no doubt and goes to 16-0 to face HBK at Wrestlemania next year in Houston.

Mayweather Vs Big Show

Now this match isnt exactly worthy of anything, let alone Wrestlemania, but im interested in seeing what WWE has in store for us. And plus, Mayweather's manager has stated something will happen in the match that will shock the world, What can it possibly be? Should be interesting, and i see this match ending in chaos, as i dont see them letting Mayweather lose or Big show getting embarrased against a little guy in front of 70 000 plus.

HBK Vs Ric Flair

This is one for the ages, i dont care what anyone saids, doesnt matter how old ric flair is, this match should be exceptional. Ric may be old, but if this is his last match he is going to give it everything his got and hbk always delievers at Wrestlemania, so there is no doubt in my mind this is going to be great and emotional. I say Ric loses cause the all the hall of fame stuff is a send off for him, he has to lose, i will be very suprised if he wins. I also see a draw as the ending, with each men hugging and then Ric saying this is his last match, his done it all, and this match has capped it off for him. Should be great none the less.

Smackdown Vs Raw

Now this could be a another suprising good match, as Umaga has potential to carry Batista to a good match. Should be a good sleeper, and i think Umaga should win but i highly doubt it as they always let Batista win. I think though, that this will end in a no contest as willian regal will keep ordering umaga to finish him off and that will tick umaga off and he will take out Regal and go to Smackdown.

Belfast Brawl

Now i think this will be a good old fashioned brawl and were defiently going to see blood in this match. If they play it right, they could repeat the brutilness of the edge foley match from WM22.The outcome of this match i think might be a swerve, Hornswoggle i think will come out to help finlay, but instead cost him the match and side with Vince. But they probably wont do that, but it still should be a good hardcore match.

ECW Battle Royal, ECW Championship

Now, i live this idea with the battle royal, but why take it off the card? This would of gave everyone a chance to be on the card, but they took it off, bumber. I think Kane or Dreamer will win this and which ever one wins goes on to win the title. I think dreamer should win and win the title as he is the only ECW orginal left.

Playboy Bunny

Stupid match, Faces will win after roll up, pretty predicable but the onyl thing that can save this match is satino marella and snoop dog if they do some comedy shit, but if this doesnt happen, everyone go to sleep for 5 minutes!

Money In the Bank

Now this match is what im looking forward too, 7 great talents in a ladder match, this will be very good. U got shelton who will steal the show, Jericho whose experienced in these type of matches, Morrison, Carlito, MVP, kennedy omg this is going to be great. And the unpredictabitly element is great aswell, its hard to predict who will win. I see Matt hardy coming back and costing MVP the match, and i see Jericho or Kennedy winning it. Kennedy could win it to build his character up more, as he has become bland and has really slipped down lately, or Jericho could win and feud people for both his briefcase and IC title, too hard to choose. But what i do know is its going to be a hell of a ladder match.

Overall, im excited for this years Wrestlemania, And because its in a staduim, it adds to the excitement. If the matches reach their potential, this will be the Best mania since WM20. Cant wait!

This is gonna be one of the best mania's ever if booked right. The two title matches will be great, wwe title match has 3 of the best workers in it and it should go 25+ mins.WHC match is one i have been looking forward to since edge cashed in on smackdown last year, taker still a great performer and edge the best heel in the business and a great worker. flair-hbk will be awesome this should go atleast 20 mins evenmore depends on flair, mitb 4 will be the best mitb so far with a lot of sickbumps, benjamin to be the standout star and also morrison to come out looking good and maybe carlito because i dont know why they put him . Only reason i can think of is because he had a good ladder match with jeff so he might pull off a few cool spots. Bunnymania not bothered unless something with santino. Umaga-Batista will have a great match, batista has improved and umaga is a amazing performer for his size. Belfast brawl will be stiff and enjoyable. Ecw chavo to keep against either kofi, noble or burke.Mayweather-show someone to interfere on show with floyd going over big show getting the chokeslam afterwards. There you have a great show.

This year's WrestleMania is definately gonna be a great event. Lucky for me, I'm ordering it on a TV for the first time (I had to order the webcast since 21, I believe). Let's run down the card:

RIC FLAIR vs SHAWN MICHAELS-CAREER THREATENING MATCH

I put this first because it should rightfully be the main event, right after Edge-Taker. Regardless of all the hype, this is the big draw of the night, not Mayweather, and most certainly not the Triple Threat Match. Ric Flair, although he is quite the old fella, can still go for a while in the ring, and will most definately step it up tonight at 'Mania. If this is his last match, he's gonna wanna go out the way he came in: stylin' and profilin'.

HBK, on the other hand, has been consistantly good at 'Mania during his entire stay with WWE. No matter who he's paired up with, he always steals the show. I mean, even his match with McMahon at 22 was pretty good. I don't see them having HBK go over with the Sweet Chin Music, and I don't think they'd have him win with that Figure 4 variation he's been using as of late. I think the end will come when HBK, who has been dominated by Flair for the second half of the match, will counter the Figure 4 Leglock with a small package variation. HBK will be in tears after the pinfall, so will Flair. They hug with HBK apologizing, but Flair will tell the fans he had an amazing run, and leave. Or, they could have him drop down and give HBK a big low blow out of rage. Either way, a great match to end a great career.

UNDERTAKER vs EDGE (c)-TITLE vs STREAK FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Like I said earlier, this should be above the Triple Threat Match. The story behind this one isn't to complicated-Edge screws Taker (twice), Edge wins World Title, Taker wins Number 1 Contendership, and thus, we have a match for the ages. Both men have never lost at WrestleMania (and I wouldn't say Edge lost MITB last year, since he was taken out of the match), and both men want the World Heavyweight Championship.

Edge, since returning from his injury at Survivor Series, hasn't had the most amazing of matches, but like Taker did with Batista last year, I'm sure he'll be carried enough for the match to be great. Undertaker, since returning from his injury at Unforgiven, has still been that same ol' great Taker we've all come to know and love. Just like HBK, Taker seems to always do great at 'Mania, so we can expect a pretty big match-up here. I see Edge spearing Taker and Taker kicking out at the last second. Edge will set up another spear, and Taker will counter it into a Tombstone for the pin. I don't see the Edgeheads being a part of this match, but I do see another big Druid-filled entrance for Taker.

TRIPLE H vs JOHN CENA vs RANDY ORTON (c)-TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

Now, here is what's being billed as the "Main Event" of WrestleMania 24. Now, although this three way feud has a lot of story to go with it, the match won't be great enough to be the final one on the show. HHH vs Orton goes back to No Mercy, where both men won, and lost, the WWE Championship, but Orton ultimately walked out with the gold. Of course, this wouldn't of happened if Orton hadn't taken out current champ John Cena with an injury that would keep him out for a year.

Fast forward to Royal Rumble, and our number 30 entrant happens to be none other than John Cena, who is completely healed up from some fast rehab. He wins by eliminating HHH, and he's going to 'Mania-sort of.

Instead, Cena wastes the opprotunity at No Way Out, where he beats Orton-by disqualification. Yet HHH comes up with the goods and wins in the Elimination Chamber (again) to go on to face Orton at 'Mania-sort of.

Cena somehow weasles his way into the 'Mania Main Event the next night on Raw, and we now have a Triple Threat Match. Now this match has had great bulidup, but I just don't think it'll deliver. Sure, it'll be at least 20 minutes long. Sure, it's got three of the biggest names in WWE today. But remember, big draws haven't always been the most talented wrestlers. I see Orton RKOing Cena, but Triple H landing a Pedigree on Orton right after that for the 1-2-3. This way, Cena never lost and stays hot, Triple H gets the title, and Orton can feud with him until Cena is officially back after shooting his movie.

THE BIG SHOW vs FLOYD MAYWEATHER, JR.-THE BIGGEST vs THE BEST

Another big celebrity match-up this year at 'Mania, but unlike Mr. Trump's envolvment last year, the celebrity will actually be IN the match this year! The official match type hasn't been confirmed yet, but it looks like it will be a "MMA" match. This way, Show can use wrestling moves, and Mayweather can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Apparently, there's supposed to be a big shocker during the match, which will probably be Oscar De La Hoya and Rey Mysterio run ins, which will leave the match at a draw and the feud going strong for a possible second match at Backlash. But then again, maybe the big shock could be Show actually going over. If there's one thing WWE won't do in this situation, it's make Floyd look weak.

WINNER OF PRESHOW BATTLE ROYAL vs CHAVO GUERRERO (c)-ECW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

As far as the Battle Royal goes, I think Steven Richards is gonna win. He's been on fire lately and really deserves a shot at the title. If not him, than Kane. Now the match could go two ways-if Stevie wins, expect him to win the gold as well. If Kane wins, Chavo might possibly go over somehow, or Kane will get himself disqualified. I do see the Edgeheads getting involved here. I don't have much to say about this one, but it'll be good if WWE books it right.

JBL vs FINLAY-BELFAST BRAWL

This one's been building up for some time now. I expect Finlay to go over here, but not without the help of Hornswaggle. I see him Tadpole Splashing JBL through a table, then Finlay hitting the Celtic Cross on a chair or ladder or something. This will be a good end to this far too long McMahon illegitimate child storyline, that in the end had nothing good to do but push Finlay and make JBL look like a devastating heel. This match will be good, and it is the perfect environment for both superstars. Vince will definately be involved with this one, maybe even Shane.

MONEY IN THE BANK MATCH

Not going to go into too much detail with this one, but it will definetely steal the show. I see Matt Hardy as a surprise qualifier, taking his brother's place. In the end, I think either Kennedy or Punk will take home the briefcase. But since Punk has had a bit of an attitude lately, I see Mr. Kennedy.....Kennedy becoming Mr. Money in the Bank......Bank again.

BATISTA vs UMAGA-SMACKDOWN vs RAW

Absolutely no point to this match, but I think both men will deliver the goods here. 'Tista will probably go over clean, but expect a huge multi-brand brawl afterwards, featuring all the lower talent not included on the main card.

BUNNYMANIA MATCH FEATURING SNOOP DOGG

The biggest downside to an otherwise superb card. Just a ten minute advertisment for Maria in Playboy, so expect her and Candice to go over. Snoop will probably punk out Santino, who will definitely be a ringside.

Best Mania, no I've seen better: Wrestlemania X8, Wrestlemania XX two descent shows OVERALL..

I have a feeling Orton will win, I dont know but it sure looks like it.

I know Taker will win to extend his streak..the question is will he win the title? (one hint: win via disqualification)

It would nice to see HBK/Flair in the main event slot..I'd want to see it last

SVR: hmm does it matter lol?

According to Dave Scherer of the Pro Wrestling Insider website, AJ Styles, Team 3D, Earl Hebner, and Kaz all showed up at WWE's Fan Axxess Tour at Universal studios and told fans to attend the TNA taping over the weekend.

This is just one of several incidents that have taken place this weekend in Orlando between WWE and TNA. WWE officials are already angry over the incidents and have warned their talent to avoid public situations with TNA workers. However; as we have been reporting there has been more than one occurrence of WWE superstars hanging out with TNA workers.

Now this is quite pathetic lol. How sad TNA has become such a low level promotion they resort to this to get some kind of attention. But I suppose that happens when you have a 1.0 rating on your last show (which was live which makes it even worse.)......

Any hoo, I am excited at the prospect of Matt Hardy possibly making his return tonight in the MITB match tonight. I think that would very awesome and what a time to return at Wrestlemania of all places. I mean to come back at Wrestlemania and win the MITB would be a great comeback for him.

If Matt Hardy doesn't come back then I see CM Punk getting the win. This should be an interesting match as pretty much every other MITB match has been. Should be interesting uses with the ladder and a lot of high flying action going on in this one.

I also can't wait to see Taker extend his streak to 16-0 this year and win the belt. He deserves the belt and hopefully will hold it for a long time. Plus I just want to see him kick Edge's @$$. He really needs it, that guy sure is one good heel.

I would love to see Kane win the battle royal tonight and take Chavo's belt for him. I know the ECW title isn't thought of as significant but Kane should win it. Then he should turn heel and destroy all of the ECW locker room. Become the monster he was and go through anything and anyone that gets in his way. He needs to become the Kane of old. Why they took this off the card was just plain stupid. If you are going to take a match of the card why not take Finlay against JBL off or the playboy bunny match thing off? That just proves what WWE thinks of ECW. What a waste.....

Obsidiana, it's not pathetic, it is SMART! They are doing Guerrilla Marketing at a definate target market. This is marketing at it's finest.

WWE should have known that having Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando would attract the TNA folks, they have to lie in the bed they make. As it is they are taking co-brand fratranization FAR too seriously. But it's just TNA capitalizing on a rare opportunity, and I hope it works. More wrestling = better product for all fans.

Tonights WrestleMania is shaping up to be one of the best WrestleMania's ever!

I personally can't wait. The card is solid, and the matches look awesome.

Mayweather vs Big Show is gonna tear down the house! It's been SO hyped up, even here in England! Heavy advertising for it over here.

WWE Title Match is going to be awesome. Orton to retain!!

Y2J to win MITB!! He could start an awesome fued.

JBL to win aswell!! That would be shocking

Undertaker to win!!

Flair to win! Lmao, nah HBK. Flair will retire tonight. Should be the main event.

Thank You Vince, Thank You For WrestleMania.

Hmmm...everybody promoting the ideea that matt will interfere and cost MVP the match.. It may happen , i clealy think WWE isn't going to leave this to 7 guys , i say there's a small chance that Jeff himself could be the 8th guy but that only if , and i repeat ONLY if they had a big picture with Jeff winning the MITB and they don't want to change it.I don't see any reason they should bring back hardy if they don't give him the win .
Also they could have a Chris Harris in this match as he's not in the 24 man battle royal , but same as the hardys i don't think they're going to put an 8th guy in the match unless that guy wins.

Hope they finish with Flair match , but if not , maybe someone will cash the briefcase tonight.

Anyway looking forward to a mania where the results aren't as predictable like last year.Like nobody knew Lashley , Cena & Taker were going to win.

Cheers !

Mania 24 has been the best of the post-attitude era...IMO.

_JBL v. Finlay_

-Pretty decent opener until JBL just ended the match abruptly w/ CLFH...didn't really resolve any kind of angle either. And this angle NEEDS resolved...quickly.

_MITB_

-Even though Punk won the thing, John Morrison was the real winner of that match. He showed that he has got what it takes to fight in bigger matches and was easily the most entertaining figure in the match. It was a pretty gutsy move to have Punk win, not necessarily because of Punk...but what does this do to the other guys in the match?

*Kennedy...who knows what will become of him now. He kind of got squashed by not making good on his "guarantee." His highest points might be behind him.

*MVP...honestly, he had a lot of momentum going into the match. He's over enough that he will bounce back, but when? He has to drop the US strap to Hardy at some point...so, I'm just wondering when.

*Jericho...honestly, what does he do now? Lengthy IC title run? That would be disappointing. Did he not demand anything big in his contract? Hopefully he didn't request an Orton squashing, JBL feud, and lengthy reign at the mid-card.

*Carlito...ha, who cares.

*Shelton Benjamin...hopefully he's still alive from that ladder fall.

*Morrison...so impressive. Better than Punk, IMO. I would be highly surprised if he did not have the U.S. Title around the waist within the next 6 or so months.

*Punk...is he over enough to go after the WWE strap? I don't think so. Not yet. He got beat legitly by Chavo at the last PPV...the guy who got freakishly squashed by Kane...so where is his credibility? He couldn't lace up Taker's boots. Not even close. So that puts WHC out of reach for awhile....as Taker's reign should be lengthy. If he cashes in MITB on ECW title...well, that would just be freaking dumb.

_Batista v. YOU-MANE-GUH_

-Stupid match. YOU MANE GUH dominates the whole freaking match, then Batista spinebusters him and throws out his back doing a BB for the win. Dumb. ECW>Batista.

_Kane v. Chavo_

-I actually liked the way this worked out. If Kane is going to be a good World Champ, he needs to be a monster again. Nothing like a chokeslam and a pin to look like a monster. Chavo's legitimacy is flushed though. But I don't care.

_Flair v. HBK_

-Possibly the best match of the night. Flair had one pretty good one left in him, and they both worked phenomenally together. HBK has to be somewhat injured from that table shot he took. Rumble 98 much? Perfect ending to the match. PERFECT.

_Bunnymania_

-Um, I unsuccessfully scheduled a piss break there, as I had to go during the promo before it. Pooooop. Oh well. It was somewhat decent, but mainly just a good time to relax after an exhausting Flair-HBK bout.

_Oroton v. Cena v. HHH_

-Really glad Orton retained. I couldn't pick between the evils of HHH and Cena. I don't like either of them. Absolutely surprising ending, as I thought Orton was legitly injured in the knee from a botched Trips move in the bottom right turnbuckle. He was clutching it throughout the match, was lying on the mat most of the time, and even spent some time on the floor. Trips had a Hogan tan going too. Needs to take it easy a bit. Meh, this probably means a Backlash rematch though...eck.

_Show v. Mayweather_

-Stupid. I hated this angle from the start. No way you let Mayweather win that match. I don't care what you're getting paid. If you get paid 20 mil...he should have enough sack to put Show over.

_Taker v. Edge_

-Loved this match. Best Taker entrance ever. I loved the jacket...it was attitude Taker. I thought the match kind of lagged at the beginning, but it picked up toward the end and started being unpredictable. I thought there was going to be a DQ when the edgeheads came out, but I'm glad it was a clean win. Exciting finish that was really exciting.

Overall: 9/10

Exceeded my expectations and then some. Good job, Vince. Pyro was awesome. Stage was AWESOME. Only complaint is Mayweather, and maybe Punk and JBL.

TheOneBigWill's 'take' on Wrestlemania XXIV (24)

The Opening: So, the opening pyro honestly was horrible. With such a wide open option available to them, they went for more fireworks than actual stage pyro. As a result, because there isn't a dome to inclose the sound, the pyro didn't come across on Pay Per View as anything big.

John Legend opens. Why Lilian can't just sing this song herself is beyond me. I understand Wrestlemania needs big names to boost the star power, but no way is this guy better at the song than Lilian.

The Matches:

Belfast Brawl: Finlay w/ Hornswoggle v. J.B.L.: Overall, the opening match is the one expected to be the most hard hitting of them all. Hornswoggle is brought out by Finlay, as the match gets under way with Finlay taking it to J.B.L... until he decides weapons are needed.

Honestly, the match was not what some said it could be equalled to. Some claimed the match had a heated rivalry to equal that of a Foley/Edge hardcore match. I can honestly say, this match was not anything special. I got more humor out of watching J.B.L. take random shots and Hornswoggle than I did anything else. In the end, J.B.L. picks up the victory with a clothesline from hell. So, in the end, good doesn't always win? And the ultimate understanding.. its okay to beat up helpless midgets and get away with it in the end. Nice.

Money In The Bank Match: Mr. Kennedy v. C.M. Punk v. Carlito v. Shelton Benjamin v. John Morrison v. M.V.P. v. Chris Jericho: By far, the best Money In The Bank match to date. Even (unfortunately) better than the one Edge won, in my opinion. This match was filled with tremendous spots that made me jump out of my seat, simply saying nothing more than "Holy Shit!"

John Morrison was clearly (to me) the star of tonight's match, as he had the most spots that made people take notice. Shelton Benjamin was the subjected target for pain, as he took the broken ladder spot from inside to outside of the ring.

Matt Hardy made his return to a nice ovation, delivering a twist of fate to M.V.P. taking him out of the match. Finally, when everyone figured Chris Jericho had the match wrapped up, C.M. Punk came in, sweeped Jericho's leg into the ladder, and took the match.

Brand War: Batista v. Umaga: They allowed the Raw General Manager (William Regal) & Assistant Manager (Teddy Long) introduce their respective Superstars. Overall, the match wasn't as great as I had hoped but it was more or less what I expected.

It was some nice back and forth action, although they didn't seem to give them too much time to work with. Umaga barely hit any of his spots, and in the end Batista likely destroyed his back on that wicked Batista Bomb to Umaga. Batista picks up the victory in the end.

E.C.W. Championship: Chavo Guerrero v. Kane: Ladies and Gentlemen, 5 seconds. Chavo enters via the E.C.W. General Manager announcing him, Kane's music hits, he enters behind everyone.. Chavo turns around, the bell rings, Chavo rushes, Kane grabs and delivers a thunderous Chokeslam, makes the cover and becomes the NEW E.C.W. World Heavyweight Champion.

All in all, I hope this is what Kane needs to light a fire within him to be a better Superstar, because like it or not, hes the new guy on top of E.C.W.

Career Threatening Match: Ric Flair v. Shawn Michaels: Staged or not, Shawn Michaels in all likelyhood busted the **** out of his ribs. The early moonsault spot to the announcer's table could've easily shaved years and several monthes off of whats remaining in Shawn Michael's storied career.

Overall, the match wasn't anything completely special, but given the opponent, Shawn did what was exactly asked of him, which was give Ric Flair an ending match that the world would remember. I wasn't a huge fan of the semi-ending, where H.B.K. went for the Superkick then stopped. All in all, I understand why, but it just pisses me off that he knows and had knew all along going into the match what was at stake if he were to win. So why suddenly get second thoughts in the middle of the match.

Only to then lock in your own version of a figure four, in which had Flair tapped it would've ruined his entire career.. or rather ended it in irony. Again, great match.. just bad spots.

BunnyMania: Beth Phoenix & Melina w/ Santino Marella v. Ashley Massaro & Maria: The greatest part to this match was when the Power went out. :lmao: Apparently Orlando doesn't care about the Divas anymore than the rest of the Wrestlemania audience. hahaha

Seriously though, giving Beth & Melina the victory shocked me because the match was built around Divas instead of female wrestlers, but I'm happy they didn't crap on the talented female's for the playmates. Santino, Jerry Lawler and Snoop Dogg all played stupid roles in the match.

W.W.E. Championship: Triple Threat Match: Randy Orton v. John Cena v. Triple H.: SHOCK OF THE NIGHT! Randy Orton walks out of Wrestlemania with his Championship intact. And to beat all else, he pinned John Cena to do it! What does this say to everyone?

1. Triple H. didn't win the Championship like everyone assumed. 2. John Cena is NO LONGER undefeated at Wrestlemania. 3. Randy Orton just became a legend, for being one of very few heels to walk in and out of a Wrestlemania with his Heavyweight Championship.

The match itself was very good for as far as Triple Threats go. They had great action between all of them. It was pointed out to me that Randy Orton may of injured his knee, or he sold it really greatly. Either way, I'm happy for the shock that I received as I never seen Randy Orton leaving Mania with the Championship. Hell, to be completely honest I was never sold on him entering with it.

The Biggest v. The Best/Anything Goes Grudge Match: The Big Show v. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather: The announcers pointed out that at some point during the WEEK, this match was turned into an Anything Goes match. I must have missed that memo.

In my opinion, this was the worst thing to happen to the W.W.E. as far as seeing them as completely fake is concerned. Big Show, in complete honesty, should've and would've likely killed that little bug. Mayweather acted completely cocky and like a prick at the beginning of the match. I have NO clue when the roles of heel and face were reversed, but everyone was cheering Show and booing Mayweather. Furthermore, Mayweather was acting like a heel, while Show was fighting off everyone like a face.

This is nothing more than a new/next generation version of Lawerence Taylor v. Bam Bam Bigelow.

The Promos:

Kennedy Before MITB: Kennedy cut another lack-luster promo, prior to MITB about how hes going to become the first guy to ever win back-to-back MITB matches. I'm pretty sure its average promos like this as to why Kennedy didn't walk out the victor. Then I remember who actually did, and still scratch my head.

Snoop Dogg & Santino Marella: Mr. Snoopy the Dogg. Santino is a genius! And why on earth was Snoop Dogg hanging out with Festus to begin with? For them to have Snoop claim Festus was a lot like him, was basically having Snoop openly admit to being a braindead pot smoking moron. Great decision on W.W.E.'s part. Snoop had NO clue.

And Foley with the blinged out Socko.. another beautifully done segemnt.

Raven Symone/Make a Wish: HOLY CRAP! Raven made a wish for big f*cking tits and definately got a wish granted, if you ask me. SWEET MOTHER she could feed a 3rd world country with those jugs!

Outside of adding to the list of reasons why I'm going to hell, for scooping an underage (she is underage, right?) girl's huge breasts.. I laughed unbelieveably when she proceeded to ask the Make a Wish children (most of which were in WHEELCHAIRS) to stand up.

Edge: The Wrestlemania sized promo of all promos, if you ask me. Edge sold every bit of it. He recalled being an innocent child who immortalized Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania VI. A child whos innocence and dreams were shattered when the Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan before his very eyes.

Edge said somewhere in the audience, was another young child who immortalized and innocently loved and dreamed of the Undertaker going 16-0. Edge then said it would be his pleasure to destroy that child's dreams.

Attendance Record: 74,635 in attendance. Next year, we hit Houston.

Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship: Edge v. The Undertaker: Maybe its because I'm one sided in this, but Edge's entrance was a lot more big time/Mania filled than the Undertaker. Taker didn't have the usual breath-taking moment he typically does, but Edge was (like always) filled with emotion and his pyro was definately on top for being one of the best of the night.

By far the greatest match of the night. It started slow, and went kinda average until the middle when things began to finally pick up. Once it finally did pick up, it didn't slow down or stop. Edge made the biggest mistake of all, in trying to defeat the Undertaker with a Tombstone, in which Taker reversed into his own. At which point, the official had to sprint down the runway which almost looked like he was running in place for the longest period of time ever.

The match continued after a kick out, then followed by the Edge Heads making a run-in. Edge picked up a spear and it looked to be completely over, until Taker kicked out. Edge sets up and drills Taker with another finisher, but remains in between Taker's legs, as Taker uses all he had left to lock in his submission finisher and ultimately made Edge tap out, allowing Taker to officially go 16-0, and become a 6 time World Heavyweight Champion.

Overall: As a fan of pure action overall, I enjoyed the night as it was definately filled with some great moments. As a fan favorite of selective wrestlers, this was quite possibly the worst Pay Per View I've ever witnessed.

First, John Morrison stole the show (in my opinion) in the MITB match, especially when the ladders were locked and he ran up the upside down one. He honestly should've won with that alone, it was one of those "holy shit whats he doing" moves, where you would've never seen it coming. Secondly, C.M. Punk ends up with the ultimate victory? :wtf: WHY?! Morrison has been and definately is WAY more over than he is. Think back to the E.C.W. Championship wars they've had, the fans were more into Morrison than Punk.. so why does W.W.E. think Punk is ready for the next level.

If you look closely you could actually see a plane circling over head during the MITB match. You couldn't make out what it said, but I'm likely assuming that was the big T.N.A. interruption moment.

Shawn Michaels' rib busted moonsault almost had me shit myself, simply because I thought the man killed himself with internal injuries. I would NOT be shocked if he comes out tomorrow on Raw and explains to the world that he'll need the next 5-6 monthes off to repair major internal injuries. The overall H.B.K./Flair match didn't have me as hyped as I felt I was going to be.. but that move alone had me worried more than anyone, to think it was completely real and he was completely hurt badly.

I laughed incredibly hard when the lights went out during the Diva's match. Especially when the announcer's had to fill in the blanks with the classic.. "Its too early for the Undertaker to be coming out." line.

Randy Orton winning was definatey the shock of the night, next to C.M. Punk winning MITB. And the bigger shock was when Punk cashed in.. Oh, wait.. thats right.. THEY BLEW IT! W.W.E. had the best opening to give Punk his legit shot by doing the reverse role of a face cashing in on a heel.. but no, instead, congrats should go to Punk for becoming the first MITB winner to win it, yet not become a World Champion. (Kennedy doesn't count - Edge took it from him)

I was more than a bit pissed that the W.W.E. jobs out the Big Show to some good for nothing punk ass boxer, who's being billed as "the best" in the boxing world, when hes won 39 f*cking matches. Son, talk to me when you've won triple digits. I've met amateurs who have more knockouts then "Money."

The night capped me out furiously when Edge had the single greatest chance at defeating the Undertaker after absolutely little to no build at all. His spear to Taker after the Edge Heads interference was the best opening. Followed by him actually connecting on the second spear. What they should've did, was had Taker's shoulders pinned to the mat for a 3 count, RIGHT as Edge taps out. Now THATS how you should end a f*cking show!

Instead, they did the typically figured plan with Undertaker winning in the end, and seeing how long he can go before reinjuring himself only for Edge to save their ass again.

Overall.. as a fan of wrestling in general, I give it an 8 outta 10. But as a fan favorite of selective guys, the show was horrible for me.

WWE Wrestlemania 24 Reveiw

Belfast Brawl, Finlay Vs JBL

Not as good as I expected outta this, and not with the emotion and drama I expected from it, but still not bad. Pretty funny spots with Swaggle, specially when he got whacked by a thrown trash can from JBL. Nasty ass lookin clothesline to end it.
3/5

MITB
Very entertaining, and creative match. Its amazing how they still manage to come up with this shit. If it wasnt for all the botches, and near botches, it wouldve been even better. The spot were Benjamin crashed thru the ladder, while looking extremely obviously choreographed, was still nasty as hell. Ugly lookin thing when Lito gets knocked off the ladder, and whacks his back. Morrisons moonsault with the tiny ladder wouldve been much better had he actually hit someone LOL. Well done, albeit very predictable run in from Matt Hardy. A little confused as to what they will be doing with CM Punk with this win, although I think RAW is the obvious destination for him. Pretty well done by all, probably the second best MITB. Wish Shelton couldve been showcased more. 4/5

Batista Vs Umaga
I was correct in my inference that this match was recieving the initial CM Punk treatment (everyone says itll be underrated and a show stealer, and it ends up not being that great). Fairly ugly, power driven contest, nothing special but not bad, and fairly run of the mill huge hero face Vs beastly heel match. I kinda liked the botched Batista bomb, it almost made it seem more realistic LOL 3.5/5

Kane Vs Chavo, ECW championship match
This was fuckin awesome, and done about perfectly. Rather predictable, but didnt take away from how much ass it kicked. Sort of impossible to assighn a rating to, so ill give it a middle of the road rating of 3.5/5

Ric Flair Vs HBK
gosh damn. were to start. Both mens entrances were amazing. All I can say, is this match was beautiful, and was what pro wrestling is all about. Ring phsycology, emotional involvement, storytelling. They can be done no better than in this match. Everyone in that Arena, in my house, and im sure all over the world was on the edge of their seats. Flair cheating. Busting out ever last signature move he has ever had, the low blow, the eye poke, the double underhook suplex, pulling the tights on the rollup, even the old school eye poke. everything. HBKs hesitation in pulling the trigger. seeing HBK do SO many subtle things to try and help Flair on various rollups, slams, and many other times during the match was just an absolute thing of beauty, and once again, what this buisness is all about. And the finish. holy fucking shit, the finish. Im not sure if a finish could be done any better, and if you want an example of what its all about, watch the last 30 seconds of this match. Flair on his feet, dukes up, crying already. HBK is crying, and mouths "Im sorry, I love you" Flair crying after the Sweet chin music, not really selling it becuase he is overcome. I cried too. HBK jumps out of the ring, and gives Flair his time. Fucking incredible. 5/5

Bunnies Vs meanies
Firstly, Ive got to say that Snoop Dogg probably looked the most absolutely comfortable in a WWE setting than any celeb ever. He worked the mic, the crowd, and a clothesline all extremely well. All the divas looked bangin. The match was pretty laborious, but it couldve been worse. Snoop clotheslines the FUCK outta Santino LOL 2/5

Randy Orton Vs Cena Vs Triple H, WWE Championship
These guys just really dont have great chemistry together. At least with Orton mixed in. Pretty good job by everyone, with a few fun spots. Cenas selling was shit, and they botched a lot more than the supposed best three guys in the biz should have, and certainley too much for a WM headlining match. Sweet spot were Trips uses a crossface. Fucking huge shock when Orton wins, I REALLY wish they couldve made that kick look better. 3.5/5

Floyd Mayweather Vs The Big Show
I dont give a fuck, ima say it...this, for what it was, was pretty damn entertaining. show whipping ass on Mayweathers whole crew was fuckin hilarious, and the whole match was pretty damn funny. The people in my house and myself were marking out when Show was taking the chair shots. Honestly, with the people involved, this really couldnt have been any better. 3/5

Undertaker Vs Edge WHC
While it started off extremely slow, this match was still very, very good. If it had been built to make Edge seem like a bigger threat, this wouldve been GREAT, with the amount of reversals that happened. If they had made anyone belive in the least that Edge had a shot at this, it wouldve been extremely suspensefull and amazing, instead of just really really good. Although I will admit, I thought Edge has a chance right before he was locked into that submission. Great reversals, good action, damn good ending. 4.5/5

Atmosphere
This atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Im not sure how it will ever be topped. It was by far the most amazing setting, and set, I have seen in being a fan of wrestling for over 17 years. Being outside, the set, the stadium, everything, was just fucking incredible. Triple H, HBK, Flair, MVP, and Edge, all had absolutely amazing entrances and Pyro. Undertakers was sick, but they fucked up on the camera shot. and to be totally honest, on the second veiwing, Cenas entrance with the college band was pretty badass. The setting gave EVERY match a huge match high profile feel. Kennedy cuts a pretty funny, good promo, Edge cuts an AWESOME promo. 5/5

Overall
Honestly, about as close to perfect as WWE will get in a show. the booking was great for the most part, the matches ranged from good to great (sans the Bunnies match, but duh) and they even got the order of the card down right. taker and Edge got to go on last which was a SHOCK, and a great decision. Im giving this WM an A, and I will steadfastly say that it was just as good as ANY mania, ever. It may have lacked in some areas, but The Flair HBK match, and the great atmosphere make up for lacking areas. One of the best ever, that will stand the test of time. WM 24

One of two things, I think, will happen as far as the Money in the Bank goes.

1. CM Punk cashes in Money in the Bank at One Night Stand against Randy Orton for the WWE title. I say this because I believe, as a secondary plan to Jeff Hardy's suspension, Punk's win is a boon for ECW, perhaps a way to revive the brand. Something like Rob Van Dam's win at 22. It's all parity anyways.

2. CM Punk is challenged by Edge for the Money in the Bank briefcase and pulls the same stunt as he did against Mr. Kennedy. Edge wins the briefcase and after a Big Show-Undertaker World title bout, in which Undertaker wins, Edge cashes in and takes down the Undertaker regaining the WHC -- full circle. It's all parity anyways.
