Mr. Artistic guy
Better Off This Way
Problems with what Todd says (apart from the grammar)
1) Generalising. You have consistently produced these lavish statements such as 'Cows get their insides torn open by pixies who dance around with them and then put back in the wrong order'. Who fail to say after most of these statements should be the phrase the a tiny minority of cases. ie cow's get their heads stood on by cruel people in a tiny minority of cases. This is a good start.
2) Misinformation. Humans are omnivores for a start, the statistical information that you posted above even proves that to your contrary. Milking a cow is not rape. If for nothing else, milking doesn't even involve the sex organs of the given animal. If for something else milking a cow is not akin to rape because it is actually a release for the cow. The cow wells up with milk and is relieved of it by these machines, in most cases to a reasonable degree.
3) The fatal mistake of thinking that where you draw your line is where everyone ought to draw theirs. Don't worry, you aren't alone in this. Humans are omnivores, you yourself have already helped to establish this. That means it is reasonable for anybody to have meat as a part of their diet whether you like it or not. The methods can be questioned certainly, but not the motive. You might think it's a crazy example, but why do you not lamour similarly about the rights of the common garden vegetable? It was once alive, could have lived for far longer and is instead sliced open and eaten before it's time. The answer: because that isn't where you draw your line. Some people could put a serious convincing argument across that plant mistreatment is rife, and a bigger issue by scale than animal, but you'd probably think their radical. Welcome to other people's points of view.
Todd, I think you're issue is not the one you think you have. There is something to discuss deep beneath the surface bullshit, but it's hard to reach through all of that. I think it pretty much sums up everything you say, you fill it with so much crap and excuses and lies and falsities that the message underneath, if there is one, takes a backseat. It's not as much your information, it's that you don't really seem at all sure what it is you're trying to say or how to get it across. I think there is an issue with regards to the standards of living that some of these farmed animals endure, it's a smaller issue than you make it out to be, but the standards are very low in some areas to try to maintain the demand. I think that is something that can certainly be debated more evenly than some of your outlandish statements, with people on either side of the fence. I think that's what you're secretly trying to say, you just aren't quite sure how. Oh Todd.
