Edge the new WWE champ

Edge being the new champ is alright, I guess. If RVD didn't do what he did, he'd still be champ though. Actually I thought there'd be a nice long title reign for him otherwise (perhaps till late 2006). Anyways, better Edge than Cena. Hopefully he'll hold it for some time as well. Cena's had his time with the belt, now its Edge's turn to shine. Hopefully he can shrug off all those 'transitional champ tags' that make people think that he had one of the worst title reigns since Kane's one day reign, cause it was only intended so Cena would get pops back.

Also, doesn't anyone else think it's funny/ironic that RVD got busted for drugs, since he did a shoot of some sort on the first ECW ONS basically saying that he didn't want his vocabulary to be limited to words such as 'cool' and 'dude.', Didn't he want to distance himself from the gimmick of a hippie stoner-what with all the marijuana and overall drug references in his promos. Yet he is caught with drugs out in the real world. Oh the irony!

Firehawk, It's not the weed...it's the pain killers. Pain killers had a huge role in the death of Eddie Guerrero along with a lot of other wrestlers.

Oh yeah, I know, the Vicodin... but, I mean... painkillers and sports is just one of those things.
Given the spots that RVD and most of the wrestlers do, I'm sure they're all taking them.
If they're not allowed to mellow out on pot or take painkillers, or take steroids, then maybe they need to cut back on the house shows.

I dunno, maybe I'm just too much of an RVD mark, but I don't want to see him get fired or even buried over this.

Since RVD is going to lose his ECW Title before SNME, and also get his ass fired before then, they should put in somebody like Kurt Angle, who actually DESERVES a shot at the WWE or ECW Gold. Tomorrow night, and I'm just speculating, Edge is going to unify the ECW and WWE Championships, then desacrate and discard the ECW Title, and then go on to SNME and have to face Cena and lose the WWE Title. That way, RVD will be out of the picture, ECW won't have to feud with RAW any more, and, sadly, Cena will continue to become the face of the WWE again, forcing Edge to be an upper-midcarder, which means Triple H and Shawn Michaels will have to split up, and Triple H will then become the 11-time WWE Champion. (This will all take place within a span of around 6 months). Then at New Year's Revolution, Elimination Chamber time. Interpromotional. ECW vs. SmackDown vs. RAW. All three Titles on the line. These will be the participants. Cena & Triple H (For RAW), Batista & Kurt Angle (For SmackDown), and Tommy Dreamer & Big Show (for ECW). That's how the year will play out I'm Guessing.

Oh yeah desacrate and discard the ECW title. That will help ECW, cmon at least maybe give it to Foley or something but not discard it. ECW is doin a little better than what it was doing the first couple of weeks. I don't know what Vince and his "extreme" creative team have in store for us today but there must be a way to punish RVD and save face of ECW at the same time. I don't want to see ECW destroyed, and would like this run to continue. I may be naive but maybe Heyman can convince Vince to let him run things and see how they go. We need the ECW Heavyweight Title to stay in ECW and we need them to be given a chance, the real ECW, EC'Fn'W not WWECW.
I know you guys are going to fire back but I hope the Philly crowd tonight is packed with ECW fans and show Vince how passionate they are about this.

Edge should work great as a champion. With Hunter in DX,John Cena needing an Image overhual and RVD 1.) being in ECW and 2.) getting caught with drugs on his person there isn't really anyone else,Kane needs to shake off the "Kane vs Kane" thing before he can start the push(that I'm sure he'll get before he retires) to the championship. But please let it last a bit longer,the guy deserves the chance to show whether or not he carry the Raw brand, I'm sure he's up to it.

He's my favrorite wrestler's favorite wrestler? WTH are you talking about? Kane is my favorite wrestler and last I checked was a HUGE Undertaker fan. In addition, Kane is considered a leader backstage in the Raw locker room and Orton is well...not.

Let me tell you what's wrong with him.

He's AVERAGE in everything that he does. His wrestling is ok, his mic work is ok (his promo on Monday was really bad), and he's 25 and been given opportunities that more talented veterans have not been. When given those title reigns, he was terrible. His IC reign and his WHC reign were among the worst I've ever seen. Now, after nearly getting fired for doing something apparently terrible backstage, he comes back and will get to face Hogan at Summerslam. He should be jobbing for the next 6 months. Fact of the matter is that he's HHH's boy and he's getting fed everything with a silver spoon, despite the fact that he's just not that good. Any objective person could see that Edge is far better than Orton, yet HHH refuses to work with Edge and will work with Orton. It's all politics.

We live in a age when whoever is the champ becomes the most criticizied man in pro wrestling. Here are the last few champions:

WWE
Eddie Guerrero - Didn't draw
JBL - Can't wrestle
John Cena - Can't wrestle
RVD -High on drugs
Edge - Average

WHC
HHH - Politics
Batista - Musclehead
Angle - Transitional champ
Rey - Too small

So it doesn't matter who's champ, the fans are never happy.

Kane says that because he is a company man. A hard-working leader who goes out every day and does what he's told without complaining. Sure, he's lost a step, but he's a very large man and nearing age 40. The tragedy is that Kane is not a multi-time champ at this point. He certainly should be and is/was popular enough to be. No reason they can't build him up to be champion anytime they want to but they never do for whatever reason.

And that's what gets me. A lot of the new dudes come in and think that they should be champion and some of them HAVE been. Then when they lose it, they think they deserve it again. Look at people like Kane and Booker, young guys. THEY are the ones that are deserving and THEY are the individuals with the attitudes that keep the company going.

You know what gets me when some young talent come in the wwe and they push them so they become champion in 4 years or less when they couldve push a more better super star like kane who has been working for longer years.
