ECW Mania Options

There aren't really any. The title should be defended. But I still stand by what I said about Swagger not being a necessity with regards to getting on the show. He will somehow, but what match is their for him?

A Money In The Bank spot isn't going to do much for the credibility of the belt. He's facing Finaly at Now Way Out & Miz & Morrison are almost everywhere other than ECW. Burchill is probably the only regular wrestler that frequently appears on ECW. Only problem is he's a jobber and he isn't even slighly over. Same for Tommy Dreamer really.

Boogeyman is on the show each week. But would they really use up a spot on him & Swagger? Singles matches are hard to come by. They did it several years ago, but I think that was more just to get Booker T on the card.

Maybe the best option is a Smackdown vs. Raw vs. ECW Challenge match.

I think its going to be Miz v Morrison v Swagger. Thats if they are breaking Miz and Morrison up. If not just have someone from Smackdown or Raw turn up and challange him because theres no-one else. Unless they go with Dreamer.

Swagger vs Dreamer or FInlay os all they can go with really. Whilst Miz and Morrison are the best on the brand, they are above the ECW title. I think they'll both be in MITB.

Mysterio to ECW?

He would walk out of the WWE.

You say it like it would be a bad thing

What I would like to see is Kennedy moved over to ECW and then have him challenge Swagger for the belt, but that likely won't happen, my guess is they'll do the same shit they did last year, have a battle royal before the PPV then the winner gets a title match on the actual show

It would be a bad thing. I maintain that he should front the new cruiserweight division.

And they should do an extreme rules match for the title, but with the PG rating, probably won't happen.

Well, the more likely choice if the title is defended at all at Mania, would be Swagger vs. Dreamer, in what would pretty much be an early culmination of the Dreamer storyline, or it would at to it anyway. Think of it, Dreamer picks up pace and earns a few wins, and says he feels that he is ready to take on Swagger at the biggest stage of them all, bam sets it up. OF course Swagger would retain and the Dreamer/Retirement angle would continue until he retires in June.

Of course they could do Finlay vs Swagger in a Belfast Brawl match, that doesn't seem to far fetched.

There are a few things they can do, but I have to agree with Jake in that Swagger having a title defense against anybody that's currently on ECW makes no sense to fill up the WrestleMania card. Swagger/Finlay, Swagger/Dreamer, Swagger/Boogeyman, Swagger/Noble, Swagger/Ortiz....give me a break. All of those matches aren't even close to the quality that WrestleMania should be giving us.

Option 1) MVP or Kennedy challenges him and beats him for the title, seeing as how they have a lot of people that could be thrown into the Money in the Bank this year (Kingston, Bourne, Punk, Kennedy, MVP, Shelton, Miz, Morrison, Kane, Finlay, Umaga, R-Truth, Kendrick, JBL, DiBiase, Rhodes, Mysterio, Knox, Kozlov)...so its not like having Kennedy or MVP challenge for that title means that they're strapped for MITB contenders.

Option 2) They bore everyone with Swagger vs Dreamer, which I can't see them doing now that they're starting the angle off with him being a complete and utter failure by losing to Henry, losing to Burchill, and then being berated and laid out by Morrison and Miz. Plus, his contract expires in June, the day before "Extreme Rules", so I doubt they'll pull the table cloth this early on that storyline.

Option 3) Swagger just has no place on the card. Doesn't get involved in anything. Really, is he so important as a newbie that he needs to take time up in WrestleMania XXV over the veterans that won't be here in 3 years?

Option 4) Swagger vs Bourne. He's the only credible face on ECW at the moment....and even with that, he's still inactive haha. That's how sad and pathetic ECW is right now, wherein an inactive guy is your top contender.

I'd like to see an Extreme Rules Three Way Dance

Swagger v. Dreamer v. Bourne

Wrestlemania XXV - Jack Swagger vs MVP - ECW Championship.

Winner - MVP (New Champion)

Do I need to say more?

Well it's the spam zone so nope, but personally I'd rather see MVP win MITB, and go after the WHC or WWE title sometime later in the year like after SummerSlam, have Kennedy challenge Swagger for the ECW title, and carry on with the feud for a couple months, win or lose the feud would benefit both guys

Yeah I'd be happy either way.

It's bound to be Dreamer if anyone. He's the only ECW original other than RVD and Tazz who got a decent run in WWE, while his friends around him were ditched after a couple of weeks or were ditched after jobbing relentlessly, he puts on decent matches, has a decent following, and you know if they say this is Tommy's retirement match that the crowd will cheer him throughout and really stick it to Swagger.

They kept the guy around for a reason, why not let him go out in style like Flair did?

If you honestly think this even has the slightest chance of actually happening then... wow, just wow, Dreamer is not nearly over enough to even deserve a WM match, they've had him jobbing to everyone under the sun for god knows how long, if they were going to give him a push for the title they would have start winning matches, not continue jobbing

They kept the guy around for a reason

Yeah to job a put over the young talent, nothing more

Ok well A.) he's not even close to being in the same league as Flair, and B.) Flair was one of the biggest legend in the business, he's a household name, the only people who even give a shit about Dreamer are the ones that watched him in the old ECW, Dreamer is simply not big enough to deserve an exit from the business like Flairs
