Candice Michelle Injured!

The following was taken from wwe.com.

Candice Michelle was injured after falling from the top rope in her match against Women's Champion Beth Phoenix on Raw. She was rushed to a local medical facility where it was determined she suffered a cracked clavicle.

Further tests are currently being conducted to rule out any other possible injuries. Candice will be out of action 6-8 weeks.

While serious injuries are nothing to joke about, & everyone in Professional Wrestling knows the risks, my question is this..

Does this injury hurt, or help W.W.E.'s Women's Division? Allow me to explain my theory.

You see, many people on this board feel as if Candice Michelle never belonged in the top face spot, for the Women's Division, as she didn't get decent pops from the crowd. While her matches only continued to get better, the crowds just never seemed to get into them. So.. with that being said, Michelle is likely out for 2-3 monthes, if not longer barring more injuries to be found.

Therefore, I'd assume this would help the Women's Division, as you'd have to push Mickie James (assumably) as the top face, to feud with Beth Phoenix. Outside of that, you have Maria. Therefore, I can also see some possible heel/face changes, perhaps Melina v. Beth?

What are everyone's thoughts on the injury & the possible outcome of the future of the Women's Division because of it? Also, who should get the push against Beth with Candice being out? Try to give as much detail as possible, thank you.

The injury wont affect the division at all. Candice has had her time as champion. For the time being at least. That match was the last in there series anyway. The winner of the Dive thing that's happening at Cyber Sunday will determine the new challenger. If it's a battle royal it'll likley end with Mickie James (my guess) eliminating Phoenix.

As for the injury. Well I'm glad she didn't break her neck. But I believe that's what happens when your wrestlers don't have enough training. It was accidental but I think somebody with more experience would have stopped themselves. Although I was drunk when I saw it so I might be wrong.

Here's a hint, how about the WWE actually make a wrestler as their champion? Such a foreign concept. But no, we get a bikini clad, plastic filled unathletic model strutting around and stinking up the joint. These injuries keep happening, because we have people in the ring that shouldn't be in the ring.

I'm only sorry she didn't land on her nose, because I'm dying to see what her new nose would look like. Candice Michelle is going to look like Michael Jackson after all of the plastic surgery.

I really don't think this will hurt the divisions at all. Like Jake said she had her time as champ and most likley that match was going to be the end of the feud anyway... granted she wouldn't win the battle royal. However it's never a good thing when somebody gets injured. I hope Candice gets well soon and I am relived that she'll just be out from 4-6 weeks with a broken collarbone and concussion. From the looks of that fall, it could have been much, much worse. As far as the division is concerned. I'm looking to see Mickie start feuding with Beth, that is unless the WWE decides to bring someone random over from SD!

I always believed that Candice was just fine when she was only eye candy. WWE put her in the ring too quickly and expected her to blossom the way Trish Stratus did, but that is not the case. She took a nasty bump and WWE has reported that she will need 4-6 weeks to recover. She is lucky that anything worse never happened to her with a fall like that, I thought she was going to be gone for months when I watched RAW last night. If she wants to continue wrestling and has passion for the business after this, than more power to her, but she needs a lot more training before she is put back on RAW IMO.

Just use her as a manager or something, theres too many women wrestlers in the division anyways, and they dont even push the ones that can actually wrestle.

I think the injury was beth's fault, she ran into teh ropes before candice was ready it looks like... and her being a 'model and not a trained wrestler' has nothing to do with the fall, that wouldve happened to any wrestler male or female.

also, this goes to show how you need to build up more than 1 star ( see cena injury).... who else can contend as a face for the womens title? ... maria cant wrestle, jillian is a heel, melina is a heel, and mickie hasnt had much of a roleon tv the past few months

i wouldnt be surprised if candice doesnt wrestle much longer, this was a nasty fall and could have been a lot worse too... she might realize she doesnt need this shit, and do something else

Personally i don't think it will hurt the woman's division because it can't really be more hurt that it is now but it might hurt Beth Phoenix's reign as champion because she was responsible for the injury. I watch it a couple of time and Beth is responsible for the injury, she went way to quick for that move and candice didn'T have time to get ready for the spot. I don't think that the inexperience of candice would have prevented the injury because a lot of more experience diva's got injured in the ring in freaks accident like this one so it's a mishap and it could happen to anyone of them. I'm just happy that she only broke her shoulder because the way she landed, it could have been a lot worst, so i hope she recover quickly and come back better then ever and gets her revenge on BEth.

I don't want to start a war with other people on this board but yet again, the more experience diva's injured somebody. It's not the first time that this happens and it won'T be the last. My take on this is that if your the most experience wrestler in the ring, it's your job to protect the more inexperience competitor in the ring. I'm sure that it was an accident but if Beth is more experience in the ring, she shouldn't be missing spot like she did last night. She went to quickly for that move and Candice got injured because of it. That's to bad and accidents happen and Candice is lucky that she only injured her shoulder but the fact is that i'm pretty sure that's Beth'S push will stop soon because of this and that's to bad because she a pretty good wrestler even if sometime her timing in the ring is bad.

I believe that injury could happen to any of the superstars. No matter how long they've been trained.Look at Triple H,same leg injury as once before. We all know he is a seasoned vet in the ring.So bottom line is it could happen to any wrestler at anytime.

Ok, this isn't intended to be a long post, but, knowing me, it probably will morph into one, haha, so get ready...

First off, who's fault was this? Both. Beth acted too quickly for Candice to react and on top of that, Candice apparently botched this move during a house show so she should've realized that she doesn't know how to execute it properly.

Second, how will this affect the Women's Division? Not very much. Candice wasn't being built up to take the title back from Beth, so its not like they're without a champ. As for "a lack of talent" or "it'll be boring now", the women's division sucks anyway lol. For the most part, even the most talented wrestlers they have can only put on a match that's as entertaining as two jobbers.

Third, who will fill in the spot? As we've been seeing recently, the WWE has liked to balance out their Raw women's roster with 3 faces (Candice, Mickie, Maria) and 3 heels (Beth, Melina, Jillian). With Candice gone and Maria lacking in technical skills, Mickie can't hold up the end of the spectrum by herself. What we may see happen is that, if the injury is withstanding long enough, Michelle McCool (who has been receiving a push over at Smackdown) may switch brands to balance out the scales or they'll turn Melina/Jillian face. Since Jillian is supposedly having a storyline coming up with Lillian Garcia (ie, the girl who can't announce but still has a job for some reason), and Melina has nothing to do but has been much more tame lately (Hornswoggle storyline) plus has the necessary ring skills, I could see them turning Melina face. Melina+Mickie v Beth+Jillian balances it out a little, as Maria could easily be left out and used as a "mentor" for the new Diva Search winner. That gives them another wasteful backstage segment that they're so keen on these days and their top 4 girls are still going at it with something new.

While i see what you are saying Boogey i think HHH's injury is a bit different his weren't caused by other people it more to his legs being overused and are more like freak injuries. This was caused by someone doing their part of the spot too early causing the other to finish the spot when not ready.

Back to the point of the thread, i also believe this won't hurt the division candice did become a better wrestle recently, but no one really care about the division anymore. Maybe by putting say Mickie against Beth they may be able to put some good matches togather and get some reastions to that division again.

WWE can finally have the Mickie-Beth fued that was cancelled whenBeth got uinjured and went back to OVW. Shame Trish won't be involved in the rivalry this time, but at least we'll see wrestling and not porn for a change.

first of all did anyone see no mercy? you can't say that candice has no skill that match with her and phoenix was probly the best technical match of the night... all the other "PRO'S" stunk up the ppv. second of all accidents happen if you watch the video, you can see she lost her balance... who hasn't done that before in their life... get an awkward bounce and fall... it freakin happens man. candice was becomming a great talent to watch, yea she ws hot, and yea she uses her body but as a male viewr watching a hot girl that can actually pull off some decent and sometimes crazy moves is refreshing.
so before you start saying that they didn't know what they were doing in there, think about all of that. Plus if anyone needs to be harped it's that SHE-MAN thing that decided to grab her by her head and grab her injured arm and drag her for the emergency pin... let's focus on that one instead.

Sorry but that just isn't true. Experience has nothing to do with it. Some of the world's greatest wrestlers have made that mistake. It was just an unbalance and bad timing and Candice just fell. There isn't much she could've done. There isn't much that anyone could've done!

Saying Candice should just go to manging (this is to other posts!) is just plain dumb! Sorry, but it is. Why would they stick her to managing?? Her and Beth were doing great last night and just when the end of their feud was going to happen, this went and occurred.

I think that this has just added more fuel to their feud. I don't think this feud is anywhere near being done now. I think Mickie vs. Beth might occur but we'll defiantly see Candice vs. Beth again when she gets back, no doubt in my mind.

But it was nice to see the people interested in the match last night. They were hot for it and Candice actually earned people's respect last night for it.

Just because it was a botch doesn't mean she's a bad wrestler. It doesn't mean anything. It was an accident and it should be simply left at that!

How was Candice going to stop herself from falling? By the time Beth hit the ropes the only thing for Candice to do was to fall, and I don't think there's anything she could've done to stop that. It was a good thing that Candice managed to twist so she landed more on her shoulder than her neck.

Isn't Beth Phoenix the champion? And yes, she's a wrestler right? Been wrestling for 7 years.

Okay so I think you're probably talking about Candice.

I hate to break it to you Paul... but Candice is a wrestler. Yes- I know, it's sounds like an absurd thing to say! Candice Michelle- A WRESTLER? Of all things! A model has never become a good wrestler before!! Wait a minute... they have. Last time I checked Candice doesn't wear a bikini to a ring... and even if she did, I doubt that would have anything to do with her ability as a wrestler. And this is the first injury that Candice has had since her broken nose, which wasn't even her fault. Divas haven't really been injured the last few months have they? Hmm...

I didn't mean to sound so sarcastic, but sometimes the way people respond to Candice frusturates me. I used to hate the girl (and I mean I used to DESPISE her), but at least now I can admit that she's a decent wrestler. Everytime Candice does something in the ring people completely overlook it and they stick to the image of Candice in 2005, not the one in 2007.

I wish Candice a safe and healthy recovery once again, and hopefully she comes back better than ever.

Hmmm.. didn't read this post! But last time I checked, I didn't see any porn going on in the ring! What I saw was wrestling. Not Joshi Japenese Wrestling or SHIMMER Wrestling (which Echelon got me liking! :p ) but damn it, it was something. I'm sorry if you carelessly skip over the women's matches, especially lately, but there hasn't been a bra and panties match or as T&A match in a long time! Instead of saying something erroneous like that, why not watch it and you'll see it's better then it's stereotyped to be!

melina and mickie team up as the raw diva faces? yer i dont really see that happening.
Melina is such a good heel turning her face in my opinion isn't a good idea if turn anyone face turn jillian she's been face before and was ok at it (and it might stop her lame pop-star gimmick)

Actually Melina could pull off a face turn. She and Beth get into an altercation and Beth turns on her making Melina face. She's very over with the crowds, and getting pops is no problem as she gets them as a heel!

Jillian's singing gimmick is awesome! I love it. She really entertains me and alot of others as well. I wish she'd have a better wrestling role but hey, she could've been released a long time ago!

I'd push Mickie James before Melina. Micke is the far better wrestler and she's been without a push for far too long. But as far as Candice, that fall was brutal. I'm thankful that she's okay. That fall could have been a lot worse and thank god it wasn't. Mistakes happen and as much as we'd like things to be different, they happen. Look at Ashley when she broke her leg. Triple H's muscle tear. The list goes on. Candice comes back from this and she will, she's got my respect hands down.

I feel bad for Candice, first she had that grusome nose injury and now this. As said shes not the strongest or most athletic diva but she hs shown she can go in the ring. Which is more you can say about the other divas.

It's kinda weird but it took an injury for people to take Candice Michelle seriously as a competitor. I've been reading a lot of negative post about Candice Michelle before her injury and now for the most part those negative post have become positive. I'm just happy that Candice is getting is being seen more as a wrestler now by the fans because she did work hard to get were she is and i'm glad that she's going to be o.k. and that i only got to wait 2 month before seeing her in the ring again and she she her grow as a performer.

I hope that all this positive Candice cheering isn't just out of subconscious pity. If you're a fan, that's more than ok, but I see a lot of people saying "you're wrong because she's a good wrestler", which isn't an argument, its just the same as saying "you're wrong because my opinion is A and yours is B". I personally don't think she's the best wrestler out of the women's division - though she's not the worst, which would probably go to one of the Extreme Expose girls or something - but this changes nothing for me. I don't respect her anymore for getting knocked out just as I won't start marking out for Chris Masters now that he has a messed up shoulder or elbow or whatever he recently got. She signed a contract knowing that this was the possibility as did everyone else. The only thing coming out of this is that I've lost a little respect for Beth Phoenix, and I think everyone can agree with me that her pulling Candice's hair for the pin seemed like a childish panic mistake. She should've known better, especially if she does in fact have 7+ years of experience like someone previously mentioned.

No one has ever claimed for her to be the best, or anywhere near it, because facts are, she's not. The fact that the women still got up after taking a serious fall shows she is strong and shows she's not embarassed by what happened.

Also, when she does return it shows that despite such a career shaking move, she's still there to wrestle and entertain the fans. She could easily just quit and say she doesn't want to risk it anymore. She nearly faced death Monday and even with that, she'll still return and do what she wants to do and you're gonna tell me that you have no respect for someone who will still put her life and body on the line just to try and get you to respect, like, accept, her etc? Come on!

Beth was simply doing what was asked. She was unsure of what to do. What would you do if something like that was to happen right in front of you?? Obviously you'd leave them alone but what if you were in a match and you were told to quickly finish it? Also Beth was in character and she had to look like " The Glamazon" she says she is! Going out of character would destroy what she has been built up to look like!

lol, ya, funny the same thing happend to cena... wonder why...

anyway, i just saw raw today, and man was that bump nasty, i was breathless after i saw how she was after she hit her head, did any1 see how her hand was?? it was just so wierd, man i was really afraid something really serious happend to her... and i cant belive stupid beth went and pulled her! u cant move some1 that was just injured like that, she should have just pinned her already.. dumbass

hope candice comes back soon and that nothing happend to her..

as for the womens division, i dont think it will affect it that much, they have plenty of other talents to compete for the title...

I'm really suprised her injury wasnt more serious than it is. I have watched the video over quite a few times and it looks like she got banged up pretty bad. I'm not a personal fan of hers, but I hope her well and will see her in about a month and a half.

wow! i fell asleep during raw and just now saw the footage! she really took a bump on that one! did anyone see the backstage footage on wwe.com? steph looked worried for real! i wish her well, as she was the most improved wrestler in the wwe IMO.

i think this will shake up an already crappy womens division. she was the main woman they were pushing and now shes out. beth phoenix thankfully won the title before her injury so there wont be any problems there...id like to see a melina vs beth fued (since im forced to watch a womens division) and maybe an influx of new womens wrestlers. seeing maria in the ring for example is just doing a discredit to the business, as no one believes someone that small could ever throw someone else into the ropes...

so beth phoenix...its your time to shine girl. i hope she comes thru with something impressive in the ring because her mic skills and facial expressions are not too convincing.
