Xfear, I hope you read the following, because guess the fuck what?
Donnie Darko came on Starz last night and I figured what the hell, that I'd give it another shot. And I'm glad I did, because I absolutely LOVED it.
However, come to find out, the version I watched was the Director's Cut, not the original. The original was the one I saw back when I was in high school, and the one that left a bad taste in my mouth all this time about the movie (though that can most likely be attributed to the fact that my taste in film back then was shit).
Anyway, got a question for you X if you read this... which do you prefer, the original or Director's Cut of Donnie Darko?
I plan on checking out the original in the next couple of weeks myself so I can properly compare the two. But for now, I couldn't have enjoyed the Director's Cut more, man. I thought it was a BRILLIANT film and I'm becoming more of a fan of Richard Kelly with each passing day.
