TNA President, Dixie Carter has posted a message on TNA’s official website promising a major announcement and this Sunday’s No Surrender PPV:

"In the course of history, there are defining moments that change the fabric of a company forever. These are moments that are spoken about for years, not days, and serve as benchmarks in the annals of a company’s growth. And on occasion, those moments transcend the individual company and re-write the history of an industry. This Sunday at the NO SURRENDER PPV, an announcement will be made that will do just that. You will not want to miss the NO SURRENDER PPV

TNA actually having Impact and the other PPVs all over the country instead of just being in a studio in Orlando? It's nice to see that Bound For Glory is in Detroit but they need to start going around the country, they will get more fans if they promote it the right way.

TNA's great but I don't think that this announcement will live up to the hype. It can't possibly be the return of Austin Starr. If they signed Kurt Angle - which I heavily doubt - I'll faint. That'll be the equivalent of my favorite NBA team acquiring LeBron James...

Kurt Angle would be awesome. But what would be even better.... This is garanteed not to be it, but imagine its a statement saying that TNA will air on Spike for 2 hours every Monday night baybe.

they probably hired Angle and its going to be the big announcement when in fact Angle is nothing more than a knock off of UFC's Ken Shamrock. so if the bringing in of Kurt Angle is the "huge" announcement, its not going to matter, because when he went to ECW, he couldnt handle it, what makes you think he can handle guys similar to the ECW roster? just in a different company. its probably going to be Angle, who cares, he sucks.

It's not Kurt Angle because he is has that no-compete clause which will last until November.

It will possibly be more house shows for them.

more house shows? that is so not a major announcement, they have house shows all the time and to no fanfare whatsoever unless ur a internet wrestling fan u would have no idea. Why would they start glorifying them now, makes no sense. Chnage the face of the industry is either a HUGE acquisition - like only Kurt Angle could be or a prime-time 2 hour slot. I just hope it isnt Goldberg that would be a disapointment IMO.

i believe the three things it could be are
1. 2 hour tv slot, mabey prime time too, the last i heard tna have been talking it over with spike for a while so it might very well be(i hope).
2. Kurt angle - just for the name value and the short time between wwe and tna but i REALLY doubt it, he has a lot of issues he needs to sort out including injuries so he could be gone as soon as he starts!
3. Goldberg - they are in a 90 day lets talk contract so this could be really likely.
Out of the three i hope its the 2 hour shows, that is exactly what tna needs to help grow as a company, if it were the other 2 i would be dissapointed.

I agree with everyone else who says that the major announcement will be a two-hour time slot. A major announcement that will change the face of the wrestling world could be the beginning of a new Monday Night Wars.

TNA's current timeslot isn't too good. They don't even have to move to Mondays. They can move to Wednesdays from 8-10. With the proper advertisement TNA and Spike TV could see a HUGE hike in ratings. Especially with Wednesday night network TV not being as strong as other nights. TNA in Primetime on SpikeTV could definitely do better than the programs currently in primetime. SpikeTV should give TNA the ball and TNA should run with it.

To be honest I dont see them moving to Monday Nights, at this point for TNA it would be near suicide for them to do anything that would have them compete directly with the WWE. I think it could and will be the 2 Hour Timeslot Announcement, I mean what else could it be without going out on a limb and talking about Angle or Goldberg. To be honest though Angle would probably be their best move, and although his no compete clause doesnt run out until November, they could still have signed him, and be Announcing it at that PPV. But thats just speculation, like I said 2 Hour Timeslot.

i think it won't just be one announcement. i think, and hope, one is indeed the move to a 2 hour time slot. and i also hope that goldberg is another announcement. but more so then any other, i hope tna is starting a new talent initiative like smackdown. instead of just bringing back all the wcw guys i really think it would help tna to do that AND bring in new, young, creative talent. that way they have to old, well known, well respected faces to lean on, and they can then place the new guys in there a little bit at a time. look how far carlito has made it, regardless of your feelings for him, the guy has sprouted as a superstar

Calling anyone...let alone Kurt Angle a cheap Ken Shamrock knokoff is laughable. To my recollection, Shamrock never won a gold medal, especially not with a broken neck. Shamrock's wrestling skill is nowhere close to being on par with Angle, either. Now, as far as what TNA's major announcement will be, a two hour timeslot would be nice, but I'm not sure if Spike wants to hitch all there wagons to this horse quite yet. It'll probably be the acquisition of some has-been like Goldberg. Yay

I'd have to say it's going to be the annoucement of the 2 hour show. Since this would be the last PPV before the time frame that I was given for the 2 hour shows to start. I had heard from a good source that the 2 hour shows would start towards the end of Oct. at the earliest.
