A Few Factoids About KB - TV/Movie Version

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
1. The theme song from the Wonder Years disturbs me.

2. I liked Batman and Robin.

3. I've never seen an episode of Married....With Children. I think that's known already.

4. I've never seen an episode of any version of CSI, Law and Order or NCIS.

5. I've never seen Shawshank Redemption, Se7en, Silence of the Lambs, Full Metal Jacket or Apocalypse Now.

6. I've never watched any Star Trek episode or movie of any series.

7. I haven't seen The Wrestler.

You need to sort the film situation. And I like the TV shows, they are a good watch but not everyone's cup if tea.

You present yourself in terms of what you have not done. Interesting.

I have a table of contents of reviews here plus a second of ones I've published on my website. I think we've covered what I've done. Also my obsession with I Love Lucy episodes is well documented here. Also you weren't around for my "Watching" series were you?

Some of these aren't so bad. I've never watched Redemption, Lambs or Jacket in full either, and the only Star Trek show I watched was the first half season of DS9. I'm a bit surprised by the CSI/L&O/NCIS and The Wrestler ones, but meh.

The Married With Children thing still shocks me though, as does the Transformers/Thundercats one. But then I'm a mark for animated shows and I've watched a surprisingly large amount of cartoons from the older eras. (Speed Racer anyone?)

I'd say give the Trek films a viewing. Just a note though: most of the odd films suck, evens are great but if any of the films containing the main cast singing is doomed. If you do watch them go with this order: II, III, IV, VI, Generations (only for where it sits, it's not a good movie), First Contact and (2009).

The first film is basically trying to be Kubrick's 2001 and fails; V is an abomination; Insurrection is more of an extended episode of TNG, but if you haven't seen the series you could watch it; Nemesis helped kill the film franchise, so if you want to watch how not to make a film then you could justify that.

Series wise, I can help you with 51 essential viewings from all the series:

In a nutshell, TOS is decent but the other series have expanded so much on the concept and improved on it since. TNG/DS9 started slow but picked up from Season 3 onwards, I'm more of a DS9 fan as I just love how it works as a series and goes to some limits. Voyager basically was bad in general but got some perks between Seasons 3-6 and some good episodes here and there. Enterprise was terrible but picked up when it too late.

Phoenix, you'd have to throw in "Datalore," "Decent," "The Naked Now," "Brothers" and "Time's Arrow." All great episodes and required viewing for anyone who hasn't seen any Trek.

Star Trek Nemesis had Tom Hardy in it, I was pleasently suprised.

I also thought Nemesis was ok

Nemesis wasn't bad. Didn't like how they ended the Data character, since I thought he was the best element of TNG. His quest for humanity (much like Spock's quest for balance) was always the most intriguing ongoing storyline. B-4 was cute, but even if he joins Starfleet, he isn't Data.

Also really enjoyed the Remans look as well as the Scimitar.

First Contact was very cool. But Wrath of Khan is one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies ever made, as far as I'm concerned.

First Contact and Wrath of Khan are so good that a couple of my friends who hate sci-fi think they are great.

There are plenty of 'classic' TV shows and movies that I have not seen.

I haven't watched Only Fools And Horses despite living in England for the better part of my life

We watched CSI together! You definitely have seen it, I was laid with you while it was on!

I'm pretty sure you were, at least at first. It was CSI New York, the last time I was there. Now whether you were paying attention is another matter entirely, you likely started reviewing something. As you did, you know, every day I was there.
