365 day music challenge

Uncle Phatso

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Wrestlezone, I am here to unveil you my master plan. With the 30 day challenge going as well as it did I have found another. Something that will be the longest ever in the music forum. As the title reads it will be a 365 day music challenge. Yes that is right one year. One year of fun, one year of being annoyed, and one year of randomness.

If you can't find something that goes along with the day, just post a song that you want to post for that day. Try not to let it happen two days in a row. But if it is just a random find this type of song, just post your thoughts.

Remember this is a non spam zone so give reasons! No spam and no Bullshit! Lets do this the right way, this is 365 days of fun.

Some days might have the same thing, or may even be the same. Sorry 365 days is hard to keep up with, but just have fun with it

Day 1 doesn't apply to me because I don't have a car yet,but I'll still post a song I wish to play in my future car while cruising.

Ah,I love this song. I can't wait to listen to it as I cruise the freeways at night. It took me a couple of years to find this song because I heard it during the dying days of a local radio station and since it's all instruments I couldn't do a lyrics search. I actually found it by accident late last year and was able to buy it off iTunes. It's so peaceful and for some reason vividly reminds of Streets of Rage.

Day 1. A song that reminds you of your first car:
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven

This is a song that I can remember being played in my dads car alot when I was younger. It's one of my fondest memorys of him, I can remember him liking Led zep and Jonny Cash. That's really it.

But I also like Rox don't have a car of my own right now. But when I get a car this is the first song I want played in my car. It will give me a feeling I haven't felt in a long time, but most likely just bring back old memorys as I am driving.

A song that reminds you of your first car:

This is indeed the song called "No Handlebars" by Flobots. I have no car of my own but I really look up to my older brother a lot, and I remember him driving me somewhere and having this song cranked. He was usually into songs of the dubstep variety which disgust me, but this one surprised me. I was tapping my feet easily to a beat that was very easy to follow, was belting lyrics and just having a good time. Loved that they mixed it up instrument wise, and I love that the lyrics are so easy to pick up once you've heard a verse or two. When and if I get a car, and if I haven't crashed it already, I'll be riding in my minivan with this cranked, looking so gangsta. No, but it sounds insane blasting through any cars stereo system and while I'm not usually into it, having the car rattling because of the sound is just that much more fun. That's all I've got but with a strong connection to my brother, fun lyrics that make you look cool, and everything else, it was the only option.

Day 1: A Song That Reminds You Of Your First Car

Jibbs- Chain Hang Low

:disappointed:
I'm so disappointed in myself. I used to listen to some terrible fucking music when I was 17-18 years old. I got my first car that didn't even have a CD Player, so I got a portable one and hooked it into the tape deck. I used to bump the hell out of this song all the time. Good Lord I should have been ashamed. This song is just fucking ridiculous.

Day 1- A song that reminds you of your first car

I remember seeing a guy in the year above me cruising out of the school car park with this song playing, and I thought it looked so fucking cool. I decided there and then that that would be the song I would play immediately after passing my driving test.

To motivate myself to do well I made a compilation album and obviously put "Regulate" on there. When the time came for my driving test, I passed 1st time with just 2 minors, and as soon as I got home, I got into the Fiat Punto I was sharing with my Mum and stuck my CD in and went for a long drive. It was awesome, I felt great.

Day 1 - A song that reminds you of your first car.

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out

My first car is still my current car, so there's really any number of songs that I could use that remind me of my car; but this one is really one of the first songs that really make me think of my car.

I had probably had my car for a couple years at this point, but I had just graduated from high school and this song really reminds me of of that summer between high school and college. Great summer filled with great music, and this song, and the entire CD for that matter still provide a soundtrack of memories for one of the favorite summers to date.

Day 1: A Song That Reminds You Of Your First Car
The Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight

Now forgive me, but I'm cheating here slightly. I have never owned a car and have no immediate plans to purchase a car, so I'm choosing the first song that I heard in a car owned by a member of my family. My dad's to be precise. He thought he was one sly 'cat' as he put it (yes he did say that) and pulled out a CD, pushing it into the CD player, and on came this song. It's a personal favourite of mine. I really do love it. It's early hip-hop at it's very best. The Sugarhill Gang are legends and this song shows why, as they display their immense rapping skills. They made it something hip.

2. A song that reminds you of summer:
Eazy E-Boyz n the hood

This is a song that reminds me of last summer alot! My friend Jarren and I would fucking blast this song in his old pile of shit before we would play basket ball. Allmost every time before we went to play at the local courts we would roll up with this song playing. So much in fact that people knew who it was just by hearing the song. I don't know why but we allways picked this song to play when going to the park.

Day 2:Songs of Summer

Summer before I went to sixth grade was the last time we had cable(until recently). MTV used to play music videos ALOT,and one video block they had was called "Shore Thing" and it stuck with me forever. These two videos were on heavy rotation and will forever be associated with summer in my mind.

Two summers ago, this song was big as ever. It's one of the big semi recent doozies from Kid Rock that is a rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama". We were in the car for a long time, and music was the one thing that kinda gave us our quiet time and this one never stopped coming on. It relates back to my last song in the way of its lyrics. They're again, very simple. You pick up on them soon, and are belting them in no time. It also gives the country feel which I don't mind when a Taylor Swift is doing it, but rarely after that does any song from that genre catches my attention. This one did though, without being too generically country. He obviously didn't write it from scratch but he did improve it and that's always good, isn't it? Either way, because of the trip and the obvious inclusion of summer in the whole thing, I've always associated this song exactly with the greatest season.

2. A Song That Reminds You Of Summer

Tech N9ne ft Big Scoob, Glasses Malone, & Irv Da Phenom- Keep It 1 Hunit

This song reminds of the Summer because, well, this album came out last Summer and it was the number 1 thing in my CD player during that time frame. This song happens to be one of my favorites for no other reason than I like the way it sounds. I love Tech N9ne and I listen to him more than any other rapper on the planet. Irv Da Phenom is another favorite of mine, but he's nowhere near Tech's level.

Day 2: A Song That Reminds You Of Summer
Pato Banton ft. UB40 - Baby Come Back

This, for some reason was my all time favourite song as a child. I'm not even a huge reggae fan, but I'll be damned if I didn't love this. It also happens to be the first single I ever owned, and it was purchased in, you guessed it, the summer. It's a nice song with UB40's pop influence and Pato Banton's reggae appeal putting this at the top of the charts for a good few weeks. It's something that reminds me of lounging back, reading a book as it plays in the background. A personal favourite and a song that makes me think of the summer every single time.

Day 2- a song that reminds you of summer

I only discovered this song recently, but FUCK does it make me think of cruising in my car in summertime! So smooth, I can just picture myself in a few weeks when the nice weather comes, pumping this tune out of my BMW as I cruise the streets.

It will be awesome

3. A song you listened to as a kid, that you thought made you cool. Real Cool:
Eminem - The Real Slim Shady

This song to me is still tities, but when I was younger this was one of the biggest. If not the biggest. I remember playing this song in my moms car, and getting yelled at for it. For my birthday she got me a the Lp with this song on it. I have no clue what I tried to be cool to it. But it cought my ears, and still today Em remains one of my favorite rappers.

Yeah, I know. It had still been out for a while but I had to listen to this song as much as possible, it made me look gangster. Haha, but it was really easy to learn. I'd sorta go on a dance break during the rapping parts and it was just fun. My parents would laugh as they watched me, I thought I was so awesome. It still shows up now and then and I don't dare move and I cannot believe what I did, but yeah. I'm still surprised that Vanilla Ice looks not half bad, and I will never avidly be a fan of a home renovation show, but yeah, he was my idol back in the day.

Day 3: A song you listened to as a kid, that you thought made you cool. Real Cool

TLC- No Scrubs

When I was in the 5th Grade, I was way off base with what was the current music scene. I pretty much only listened to old school hair bands and Guns N Roses. So when everyone would ask me questions about the music that was on MTV, I had no idea what anyone was talking about. So one night, I actually sat and watched a music video. This was the only one that I watched and I thought I was the shit for knowing the song, even though I didn't really like it. I still pretended that I did just thinking that I'd be thought of as cool for it.

I really wasn't though.

I'm really not sure if I'll be able to keep up with this, but it seems like fun, so I'll give it a go.

Day 1: A Song that reminds you of your first car.

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

Well, like many here, I haven't actually started driving yet, but this song reminds me of car journeys when I was a kid. My Dad loves Queen and on every single car journey, he would play the exact same Queen CD. I can't remember what CD it was, but I know it had Don't Stop Me Now on it, as it was my favourite Queen song by a distance, hence my choice of song for Day 1. It is very much my plan to make this the first song I drive to when I eventually start driving.

Day 3: A Song You Listened to as a Kid, That You Thought Made You Cool. Real Cool
Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5

Who could ever forget the cool styling’s of Lou Bega? I thought this song was the bee’s knees back when I was a kid. Thought it was absolutely cracking. It was the sound of 1999 as far as I was concerned. It was great as a kid’s party anthem. It was a slightly non-PG song with all the hip things a kid could want. You had to love it. Hell I liked it so much I even had a plush toy who would sing it if you pressed his hand. Loved it. I continued to love it long after it was popular and was told I was too 1999. Lou Bega never really did anything else, but his song about Cola's pretty nifty too.

Day 4: A Song You Like From A Movie Soundtrack

Seasons After- Cry Little Sister

I'm not sure if this actual song is featured on a movie soundtrack, but it's a remake of a song that was made famous from a movie soundtrack. It was originally made by Gerard McMann and Michael Mainieri for The Lost Boys soundtrack back in the 80's and while I am a fan of the original version, I just happen to think that this version kicks ass. I used to listen to the free Windows Media Player radio shit at one of my old jobs and this song used to come on quite frequently. I'm not usually a huge fan of the screaming shit, but when it's coupled with someone who actually sing, I'm all for it.

That is exactly the same as my pick. I would definitely say that was the song that made me cool (or so I thought). The swearing in the lyrics and knowing how much the teachers at school and my parents hated it made it THE song that everyone wanted to listen to.

Still one of the catchiest songs out there, and I never tire of hearing it.

Day 4: A song you like from a movie soundtrack

I would say this is probably the song that made me fall in love with G'n'R and is probably still my favourite song by them even today. I love the official video for the Terminator 2: Judgement Day soundtrack where Arnie looks at Axl at the end of the video and desides that killing him would be a waste of ammo.

Its really cool how it was also used in the latest Terminator movie too, I love seeing little things for the fans like that. Really cool, and an absolute classic track

Day 4: A Song You Like From A Movie Soundtrack
Hearts on Fire - John Cafferty

The video is the entire montage from Rocky IV (complete with 'DRAGOOOOOOOOO!'). After 'Gonna Fly Now' (the Rocky theme) and 'Eye of the Tiger' it was always going to be difficult to equal them, but Rocky IV seems to do that with this. It's not really the song itself, but the montage. It's a damn cool montage as you see the new vs. old aspect in full effect here as Rocky goes back to the very basics trying to defeat the younger and far more dangerous Drago. With the knowledge that Drago killed one of Rocky's best friends, Balboa is spurred on to try that extra bit more, hence his heart being on fire.

Day 4-A song you like from a movie soundtrack:
Megamind soundtrack- Highway to hell

I loved this movie, it was funny when it needed to be. That was pretty much all the time. But it also told us a story we don't get to see that often, and that was that some villans really can kick ass. It was a kids movie, but I went and saw it with my friend and his little brother. It was a pretty good time, and it was a really great movie.

Day 5-A song that you quote to people:
The Beast In Me-Johnny cash
7WVCG6xxtmY

The beast in me
Is caged by frail and fragile bars
Restless by day
And by night rants and rages at the stars
God help the beast in me

The beast in me
Has had to learn to live with pain
And how to shelter from the rain
And in the twinkling of an eye
Might have to be restrained
God help the beast in me

Sometimes it tries to kid me
That it's just a teddy bear
And even somehow manage to vanish in the air
And that is when I must beware
Of the beast in me that everybody knows
They've seen him out dressed in my clothes
Patently unclear
If it's New York or New Year
God help the beast in me

The beast in me

This is a very simple but powerfull song, I've never really quoted it to people. But I have showed it to two people to help them like it helped me. We all have issues but my beast was anger. This song sort of reminded me that even though it can come out at any time, we can control it. That's what I've been trying to do, and for the most part it works. We all have to work on our beasts, but only we can truly keep them in check.
