You know the John Cena hate has gone too far when....

For starters if Cena is doing it for publicity(i don't think that) who cares, i guarantee you that every single one of those kids that he spends time with don't think that, he has made their dreams come true. As a soldier I tip my hat to John Cean, total class act.

Nobody said anything about the Connor the Crusher video that Daniel Bryan was a large part of.

The IWC thinks Cena buries young talent by beating them, sooked about Bray getting beat at mania. Defended Jericho

The IWC thinks Cena buries young talent through his promos. Didnt say anything when Daniel Bryan call Bo Dallas a 'BOner'

I'm not a cena fan, but surely anyone can see when they look at it objectively that the man cops a fair bit of unfair criticism

People come out and hate on cena cause he's the same for the last 10 years. This man gives up great matches with his 5 moves of doom, he cuts good promo's, he's not the best but he gives it his all every week for the WWE universe, love him or hate him, you gotta respect the man for all that he does. What I don't get is how you can hate a man who goes to see kids who are dying, he goes to cheer them up and give them hope. I enjoy Cena as a part of the whole product called WWE. Those who hate Cena should think why they hate him so much when he has a good heart and he goes to be with those sick people. Quite frankly I don't see any Cena haters going to visit kids with Cancer. Visit the Troops over sea's. Give hope to people who need it badly.

One last thing for all you Cena haters. if we didn't have Cena then Randy Ortan would get alot more air time and i dont know about alot of you but my head would explode. I just can't stand Orton.

I think you're getting confused with how people feel about Cena the wrestler and Cena the person. Haven't seen many who don't like him say he's wrong for doing the charity work he does, and they respect him for it. At the same time they don't have to like him as a wrestler and a lot don't. Reason being he's boring and stale. And in the last 10 years hasn't changed. Not all his fault, some of the blame has to be put on creative for the storylines he's been in.

Yes he gives up good matches, but there is always someone else in that match as well. His promo's used to be good, but put him up against a Bray Wyatt (who cuts some of the best in the business) and it's like night and day. Wyatt will come out give one of the best promo's you've ever heard, and Cena will come back with "LOL you smell like poo." or some stupid thing like that. Makes him look juvenile at best.

He visit's a lot of terminally ill kids, because he's the one they want to see. Never had anyone go through Make a Wish to meet me, and would be stunned if that ever happened. Visiting the troops is part of what the WWE does and has done for quite awhile now, so it wasn't Cena's idea to begin with. Yes he goes, but so does most of the roster. You can't contribute that to him alone.

Do agree with you about Orton though, he does my head in as well most times.

There's no point in even discussing to be honest. Those haters will NEVER be convinced otherwise and they will ALWAYS hate him no matter what. It's time to bury the hatchet and just let it die. I am tired of arguing with these "anti-Cena" marks who just won't give ground when it comes letting go of the hate they have a for a "TV character" and respecting "the man" John Cena.

I am a HUGE John Cena fan but I am willing to listen to sensible arguments and gripes about how the WWE book the character. Whether you are on the Cena train or not, it does not mean you have to dislike the man and hate the things that he does outside of the ring.

For some "amateur" Cena-haters, validating their hatred by grasping at any stupid excuse to hate on him is about all they can come up with.

I don't care why John offers his time to terminally ill children, he does it at all and that's good enough for me. I don't like his style and I hate the fact that he became the top guy based on reasons that I won't mention so as to not distract too far from the subject.

I'd ask you to provide examples of hatred offered to John regarding his charity work, only I've seen it first hand and had to back away from looking like I agree with those people.

I'm willing to forget the fact that I've hated what he brings to the show ever since his Prototype days, he's using his fame in noble ways and my hat's off to him for that.

I wonder what Cena would do if he actually attacked people back.

I imagine that if John took the time to consider any of my harshest criticisms regarding his character on tv, his immediate reaction would be to stop banging Nikki Bella from behind while counting stacks of hundred dollar bills on her back and stomp over to my place so he could try to unconvince me of my hatred.

Matt Striker said in a shoot that some people think negatively about Cena because he's somewhat of a loner backstage. According to Striker it's because wrestlers constantly want stuff from Cena. They want to run programs with him to help them elevate their position or they want him to give them ideas on how to get more over.

According to Matt he sat down at a table with Cena and asked him how his day was going and John said "You know what? No one ever asks me that."

Striker said that after that he and John weren't "friends" but John would actually talk to him and stuff.

Take that for what you will. Obviously Striker could have made the whole thing up but I don't know what he would benefit from it.

As far as the topic is concerned.

One of the stupidest arguments I got into on the front page was someone arguing about The Rock doing charity stuff and the WWE not showing it on WWE television.
Somehow the person was blaming Cena for that and saying of course WWE will show Cena doing it but not other wrestlers.

I've also seen people actually claim WWE only does the Susan G. Komen stuff because they want to make Cena look good and claim it was his idea.

Bottom line is people are idiots.

I can well believe Striker's story... I mean being in Cena's position does isolate to an extent. Everyone WILL want a piece of him for their own ends, be it to get that match or just ingratiating. One of the things lots of people said about Hogan was he was someone who would chug a few beers with the guys and not have the "dressing room" at first, but as time went on he withdrew... I would imagine Cena faces the same thing now... on a daily basis it's easier to have that distance rather than spend any time at all filtering out the "friends" from "frenemies". A lot of those guys he came up with are now his direct competition but not really there all the time Randy Orton, Batista, Brock... all of them are guys Cena was in OVW with so if he has "friends" it's likely to be them... but they are also the other "top 4" but not really there all the time.

Perhaps the reason Cena does so much charity is he knows the kids and parents of all the Make A Wish or other charity events are genuine... he doesn't have to worry if he can trust them, or likewise have to play politics to protect his own position... like Matt's story of asking how his day was, it's a pure interaction rather than one dominated by business... when you work as many dates, media etc as Cena does, you would miss that interaction... In reality I think that is what also did for Punk in the end and why he married AJ etc so quickly... Now he has to be a husband and listen to her tell the tales, but he doesn't have to do the fake "friends"/Shaking hands BS himself anymore to guys who want him gone/into his spot.

Maybe I should explain afew things on why I say people shouldn't hate Cena. I was at Payback in Chicago. I watched Cena Vs Waytt live. I was by a group of people that were chanting Cena Sucks. Had the shirts on and booed Cena as he came out. Now I call a lot of Cena haters hypocritical, not all but most because they boo him and talk smack about him, first remember he's the one who gets in the ring for the fans, love him or hate him he's the one in there. The cena-haters I was by were cheering for Cena before it was over and acting like they loved him when he finished off Waytt. A guy like Cena might not be the best. There are better then him in the company but he is like those others who wrestle, they do it cause they love Wrestling. Fans have the right to like and hate who they want and it was said, your not gotta change a haters mind on anything. I won't try and change them, im just calling them hypocritical since i'm sure up to 80% cheer on cena by the end and just wanna B**** about him.

Huh? Who is hating on him for doing charity work?? I imagine it would have to be 18 year old too-cool-for-school kids, not quite adults yet, dumb as a bag of hammers, but figuring they alone know what's going on in the world. (Been there, done that.)

Seriously, whatever. This is the Internet. You could save the entire planet from nuclear destruction and still you'd have a bunch of nincompoops call you a socialist nazi asshole for your efforts. The Internet means a bunch of anonymous douchebags with no filter can say whatever they want without regard for consequences, logic or common decency. That's the price of freedom of speech: You have to put up with a lot of bullshit. So it's best not to sweat it. It's not like those dumbasses or whatever they have to say matters.

As for Cena - I am not a fan of (most of) his ring work, I am sick and tired of seeing him on top and when he leaves for Hollywood I will be glad to see him go.
That said, I got nothing but respect for the man. He carried the WWE for 10+ years and kept them in business through tons of hard work and personal sacrifices. He seems a smart and decent man in real life and his charity work is amazing. And if anyone feels like sending me hate mail over this, feel free to. Keep it coming. :icon_mrgreen:

I think hating him as a person is beyond stupid! :p I hate his character, but you can't hate him as a person. Especially when he's been with the company for a solid decade plus now, I love heels way more than faces but this isn't about his character >< honestly, he's probably one of the nicest guys if you give everyone 10 years of being #1 or #2 in rare situations. I mean imagine having 50% of people love you and 50% hate you for 10 years seeing thousands of people! Not too mention how many sick kids he's a hero to and he's done that for 10 years.

The exact reason people hate his character is why you should admire him as a person
