It was always my dream when I was a kid, unfortunately it never came true. You are a very lucky man. I remember stealing so many cards off people lol that was fun.
Funny story (this was the worst thing i have ever done) I was in primary school and loved Charizard hated Pokemon but loved Charizard. A kid in the next class over had that card wich apparently is or was the rarest?. I went into his bag and stole his cards 200 all up with Charizard as the only one i wanted. I felt guilty all day thinking i was going to get caught i decided to go home sick. The next day i went to school and started talking to the Kid asking him if he had any spares in pokemon cards his reply was I dont have any cards any more i went on an Excursion yesterday and they must of fell out of my Bag. The next day I had a change of heart and decided to sell his old cards back for ten dollars. Minus the Charizard. The funniest part was he didnt realise that they was his. I am really ashamed at this now. But i still have that Charizard card i have kept it and will for another five years or to to um... Remind me of the bad thing i did.

Lol Sparky don't feel guilty, I stole a shitload of cards too. I never sold cards for money though, that is downright sad

There was a lot of money in those cards. Shiny ones were worth a few squid. Never got my hands on the rare and elusive, but i got something like £7.50 for a Moltres once.
Those were the good old days, people used to sit down and inspect those cards like true connosieurs, negotiating trades and sales like there were soccer players. Some hardcore traders even worked as agents between deals.

The funny thing is, while I had so many rare and cool Pokemon cards, I never actually played the proper game with the cards. I had no idea how to play the game, I just found trading really fun.

I had Yugi-oh AND Pokemon cards. Still have em somewhere. They got packed away somewhere. I haven't seen em in at least four or five years lol.
And yeah, Charizard was the shit. But actually not the rarest. I believe Alakazam was the rarest of the original set. You can tell because (and I don't even remember how I learned this) the numbers in the corner not only indicate their number in the set, but how rare they were. Alakazam was no.1 in the original set, therefore that was the rarest one. I think Charizard was actually only number four, behind Alakazam, Chansey, and Mewtwo.
I've said too much. Ah, my repressed, nerdish, bully-filled childhood is rushing back to me! After I had worked so hard to forget everything between 4th grade and my freshman year of high school.

Magic is shit. Every year at summer camp, my friends would try to teach me how to play. But it made absolutely no fucking sense. Still after all these years, I cannot figure out how to play at all. What the FUCK is Manna?!? Why would a dragon require Hebrew nourishment in order to fight?
