WWE Survivor Series - Team Cena VS Team Authority

Jack-Hammer

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
It was announced on Raw last night that we'll see a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match at this year's ppv. Over the course of the next several weeks, we'll probably see John Cena gather his troops together to combat The Authority. While nothing's official, at least not that I know of, it seems that Dolph Ziggler will probably be on Cena's team after last night.

As for Team Authority, it'll probably consist of Rollins & Kane at the very least. I hope WWE doesn't go the route of putting Noble & Mercury on the team, a couple of guys we haven't seen wrestle in years and seem to be filling the roles of Patterson & Brisco as The Stooges. If Randy Orton doesn't turn on The Authority in the next few weeks, it'll probably happen at Survivor Series. It's possible that Orton could ask to be on Cena's team so he can get his hands on Seth Rollins though, if I had to guess, I'd say they'll weight and spring Orton's turn for Survivor Series, possibly helping cost Team Authority the win.

So, I'm pretty thrilled about this. I can't possibly hate a traditional Survivor match at Survivor Series, even if it means no title match until at LEAST TLC, which means no title match until Royal Rumble.

I can't decide the captain of Team Authority, yet, though. Is it going to be HHH in a managerial role? Is it going to be Rollins, furthering the jealousy from Orton? So, Rollins, Kane, Orton, Cesaro, The Miz? Rusev? I can't pick a 5th here.

Team Cena is even harder to put together. Cena, Ziggler, Sheamus, and... RYBACK! But I can't for the life of me think of a 5th without breaking up another current feud.

Either way, if we have to go through another PPV without a title match, this is how to do it.

Of course they're going to allow an Orton face turn at the PPV. One reason is that it's in St. Louis. Another- why ruin whatever little surprise, by already indicating that he's a face by having him be a member of "Team Cena" ? Besides, after all the back-and-forth verbal war between him and Cena, it'd also taint his individuality and character, not entirely different from the time when he was nothing but a member of "Team Ryback", by that participation. And finally, the turn in the main-event of the PPV, the anger on HHH and the Authority's faces, only means Ratings for the first segment Post-Survivor Series.

I haven't actually been this excited about any WWE angle in a long time. And yeah, Orton and Cena have been around for so long that there's nothing unique about it anymore. But considering how ruinous and disastrous the sense of continuity, linearity and coherence of WWE has been in 2014(Batista returns. DB WM win. DB is champion. DB Injured. Shield breakup. Batista vanishes. Roman Reigns is the future. Roman Reigns injured. Seth Rollins is the future. Brock's the champion and he won't be around for months.), this story seems to appear at the end of the circle, almost like it began with it. Randy Orton will turn face or at least anti-Authority at SS. Unless of course they're dumb enough to ruin this as well.

Growing up watching Wwe, Survivor Series was always my favorite PPV. Last night when I heard that the traditional elimination matches were coming back this year I was pretty happy, especially since its participants/feud isn't just throwed together.
Team Authority has lots of possibilities, as you could have Triple H/Steph lead in a manager role, Rollins lead team Authority, or Triple H allow Orton to lead the team as a way to make Orton happy. What I want to see is (since SS is in Orton's hometown) Orton vs Rollins and Team Authority lead by Kane with Triple H/Steph managing...........
I don't know.....? Maybe not? Unless they play the angle were everyone in the locker room rescents Cena or don't want to get punished for helping Cena by the Authority, and ......IT don't Know.
I will leave the booking to Wwe, I am just excited that Traditional Survivor Series is back. Hopefully however they do this angle, I hope that they use this feud to get someone over other then Cena/Authority. (Maybe Ziggler since he was first to run out to help Cena, though it was probably just for payback from earlier in the night)

It looks as if anyone could be on either team, especially since the locker room filled the ring to end Raw last night. If I could pick the members of the teams, I would go with:

The CeNation – John Cena, Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler, United States Champion, Sheamus, and the Usos, Jimmy and Jey
Vs.
The Authority – Mr. Money In The Bank, Seth Rollins (I’d prefer WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar), Cesaro, The Miz, and the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Goldust and Stardust

I can only hope that the undercard will all be traditional Survivor Series matches.

Randy Orton is going to be the most dynamic element in the build up to Survivor Series. With his position in the Authority in flux, there's a lot of elbow room in how he can be logically booked up to and in the match up. I'm eager to watch Orton in the coming weeks.

I hope Ryback isn't in the match, and it's for his own good. He won't be as over as he was with his initial push. His popularity disappeared with his invulnerability. If they put him in this match, he has to at least survive, or if he is eliminated, it has to be via disqualification. The same goes for Rusev; don't throw away his dominance in an elimination match unless you have Roman-Reigns-Last-Year sized plans for him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Jericho on Team Cena. I'd be pleasantly surprised, however, to see him on Team Authority. Jericho did right by Bray Wyatt in their feud, but he was most entertaining when verbally sparring with Triple H. That's a position he could fill on either team.

I also wouldn't write out Daniel Bryan. It seems the report on his injury changes every other week. I'm not expecting a return, but I can hope. A far more likely injury return would be Bad News Barrett. As lasarino said in the SS General Discussion thread, he's got a natural spot on the team opposite Ziggler.

While Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose begin their feud, what of the "set free" Harper & Rowan. Perhaps a spot for them on one team or the other?

Here's my predictions/hopes for the match;
Team Authority: Seth Rollins (c), Kane, Randy Orton, Bad News Barrett & Luke Harper
Team Cena: John Cena (c, duh), Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho, Sheamus & Cesaro*

*Save for a surprise returning Daniel Bryan, can't think of anyone, really.

Of course, this doesn't help the ongoing problem of lack of title defenses on PPV's. Without Lesnar, they may need Sheamus & Ziggler elsewhere on the card.

Fully expecting a Roman Reigns return to join Team Cena - his interview comments last night foreshadow a feud with Rollins, I think it (re)starts at Survivor Series.

Orton's face turn at SS is a red herring - it will happen, but closer to Wrestlemania I reckon

This is perfect to call up The Ascension and have them work for The Authority.

Rollins, Orton, Kane & The Ascension (Maybe Batista if Orton's face turn happens earlier)

vs

Cena, Ziggler, Ryback & The Uso's (Orton instead of Ryback if Orton's face turn happens earlier)

This would also be the perfect scenario for a Orton face turn in his hometown by costing The Authority the win.

It's difficult to say who will fill out the teams. A lot depends on injuries and possible returns. I'd love to think Batista will turn up and Reigns will be healthy but I'm not sure.

Team Authority will definitely have Rollins and Kane. The other three could be Triple H, Orton and one other. Possibly Cesaro.

As for Cena's team; we know Ziggler and probably The Uso's. The fifth member could be Sheamus, Ryback, Orton or Reigns.

Realistically: Rollins, HHH, Kane, Orton and Cesaro vs Cena, Ziggler, The Uso's and Reigns is a damn good match. Orton can play both sides and maybe cost Rollins his elimination. Reigns obviously dominates and gets to pin HHH. I think there is a lot of potential there with still plenty of names left to fill out the rest of the card.

Well it appears as though Big Show and Mark Henry are going to feud. Why not put them on Team Cena and Team Authority respectively?

It looks as if anyone could be on either team, especially since the locker room filled the ring to end Raw last night. If I could pick the members of the teams, I would go with:

The CeNation – John Cena, Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler, United States Champion, Sheamus, and the Usos, Jimmy and Jey

I can only hope that the undercard will all be traditional Survivor Series matches.

To add to this, I’d like to see:

Brie Mode vs. Fearless
The Crazies vs. The Anti-Divas
The World’s Largest vs. The World’s Strongest
The Vipers vs. The Demons
The Lunatics vs. The Eaters of Worlds

Using Team names again for the Survivor Series would be awesome…coming from a fan since 89. I think this would make this year’s Survivor Series fun again.

I'm happy about this. It won't draw but I'm not a shareholder so guess how many fucks I give.

The Authority should have Noble & Mercury in their team. Why? Because they were both put on the shelf far too soon in my opinion. If Ziggler is on Team Cena he can face them for a bit before each quickly eliminated.

Ultimately Cena wins because Orton turns on Rollins. Or Rollins causes Orton to lose.

so many options with this but personally I like the sound of

Team Authority : HHH, Rollins, Kane, Orton and Bad News Barrett
Team Cena : Cena, Dolph, a lower carder like Ryder. Then there will be no one else brave enough to step up to the authority until Roman Reigns returns on the last raw. Then at the PPV have the last team member revealed as .......... Adrian Neville

I would imagine Randy Orton will be the surprise 5th combatant on Team Cena. They'll make a big deal out of him not being able to find a 5th and having to fight a man down. So it'll definitely be Cena, Ziggler, Orton vs. Kane/Rollins.

What matches will definitely take place at SS? They need to have some singles title on the line, so without the WWE Title and the IC title on the line, the US should be on the line.

Sheamus v. Rusev would be a good story line.
Bray Wyatt vs. Ambrose seems to be penciled in.

So who can be used in this match?

I'm thinking the Mark Henry/Big Show feud could be a part of the Cena vs. Authority feud. If it is its own separate match, I'm not sure how to fill out the rest of the teams.

Authority contenders: Cesaro, Miz, Mizdow, Mark Henry...Harper/Rowan return?

Cena contenders: Swagger (if Cesaro is picked), Ryback. Not sure what storylines they pursue here. Ziggler was a great choice and Ortion will be the last second surprise 5th man.

Uhfgh usos are stale as fuck!!!!'
Team cena: cena ziggler Ambrose sheamus ryback
Team authority: Rollins Kane orton miz mizdow
.....or if cm punk returns he could replace mizdow or sheamus

I can almost guarantee that the Usos will be part of Cena's team. Just seems a natural fit, tbh.

Team Cena: Cena, Ziggler, the Usos, and a Surprise 5th member on the RAW before the PPV.

Team Authority: Rollins, Kane, Orton, 2 Stooges/ Tag champs and maybe BNB(who'll probably feud with Ziggler on return anyway).

Ryback should stay out of the match.

If WWE wants to rebuild Ryback, he should go on a tear in a midcard match. That's the place to do it. He could captain Team Ryback vs. Team Rusev. The twist: all of Rusev's teammates are reluctant partners.

Rusev's team gets eliminated, Rusev retreats to avoid getting pinned, patriotic fans get to celebrate. Sounds good for Thanksgiving week.

In regards to the Team Cena vs. Team Authority match, I wouldn't be surprised to see it reduced to 4 on 4. Rollins, Orton, Kane, and Cesaro (storyline: if Cesaro survives, he is in the Authority) vs. John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, and Kofi Kingston.

Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt should have their own separate grudge match.

Whoever joins Cena's team will need to be one that has an issue with The Authority. With that being said, Cena and Ziggler are obvious but I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Dean Ambrose. Yes, he and Bray Wyatt are headed for a showdown but Ambrose has had a beef with The Authority for a long time. With that being said, I fully expect Wyatt to be on Team Authority and Ambrose to be on Team Cena.

In the whole HHH/Cena promo on Monday there was talk about Cena embracing the fact that he is on his downside of his career and that he needs to embrace the future. Not saying that it is any hint at what is going to happen, but I think it would be great and fresh for Team CeNation to consist of John Cena and the NXT top talent. That way Cena can do his promos saying that he is accepting of the future, just not the future the authority has "chosen".

His team would consist of Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami, Finn Balor and another NXT talent who is almost ready for the call up.

I just think this will get us some fresh faces in the main event, and would make Cena's team an even more of an underdog story vs the Authority's established WWE Superstars

Agreed. The Usos are horrendous and boring. I think they should be released personally or just stuck on house shows,

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I need to ask a question.

Why is it when there are zero reports of a Jericho return, everyone and their mother assumes Jericho will be back for the upcoming special event? (Forgive me for congealing all IWC opinions in that blanket statement, but I don't think I'm far off)

In this month in question, Jericho is confirmed as returning in November by arena ads and Y2J himself, but no one else expects him to be part of a Survivor Series team?

Chris Jericho will be a part of one team or the other. That's a solid hypothesis. Which team will he be a part of?

As stated before, I hope for Jericho on Team Authority.

Cos 1993 taught us that a "surprise member" has value, if you saw it you get it... it you don't go watch... The crowd expected Perfect and got Savage and they went MENTAL. Jericho is the kind of face who steps in when the Authority "injure someone" on the night or the heel who shows up on the night to "piss the faces off"... there is no value in promoting him in the match, but there is value in him as a surprise team member... Do we really need to see bad skits of two guys who both screwed him trying to seduce him to their team... no... but a clear choice on the night... "Cena...I choose you..." or "Hunter, I am Best for Business at What I Do..." is a moment... if he's not getting a "moment" then what's the point?

Hey, fair booking. There's definitely value in a surprise team member. I'm just surprised his name hasn't been mentioned at all.

I agree that an enticement storyline for Jericho would be tired, and he's not the right guy for that story, for that matter. However, I doubt any segments or skits would automatically be seen as bad. Jericho's chemistry with Triple H was always great, and it didn't seem like they lost any of it in their brief encounters in his last run.

Team cena will be cena, dolph, usos and ryback.
Team authority lead by kane will be kane, orton, rollins, ceasaro or mizdow, miz.
Here is reason, usos mini fued with miz and mizdow. Dolph already fued with ceasaro and now authority. In following week cena approach usos so they also attacked by authority. So cena secretly maintain 5th member and will be revealed at survivor series as ryback. Bcoz he need big face reaction. If rock make as a 5th member, its best for buisness. I really enjoyed if rock come back.
