WWE Royal Rumble 1/26/14 LD

I thought he looked fine. Batista's spears sucked when he was active too.

I didn't pay close enough attention to his actual ring work. I did notice he looked like he had a limp on the way to the ring, and he doesn't look as goosed up on roids as before, but .ost of the time Batista was in I was texting; its just fun to try to rile Stormy up.

You should've added how it made the WWF a boat ton of fucking money, saved the company from going under and created two of the three biggest wrestling stars in history.

Nevermind, I typed it out for you.

Austin and Rock were going to be huge in any era.

It did make a ton of money, but it also hurt the in ring product horribly.

He was indeed smaller, but that's to be expected.

Looking at some pictures right now, I think it was Batista's ring gear that gave him a bad look. Ring gear matters people.

When you have a job, you are expected to be serviceable at it. Like if you are a cop and you decide you want to try to open a restaurant, but after four years you go back to the force and then accidentally shoot an innocent person, you don't get a pass because you hadn't been on the force for four years. Batista is a pro wrestler again, it isn't wrong for people to expect him to look and perform like one.
You're fucking stupid if you want to compare those 2 professions.

Batista was doing an athletic improvisational performance. Sure he botched a couple things. So does virtually every other performer ever. Daniel Bryan did a top rope splash instead of a headbutt, that's a botch. So wrestling Jesus botches too.

What if, like myself, you had no interest in seeing face Batista again and particularly not at the seeming expense of the hottest act going right now?

That feels like a problem to me.
The hottest act in wrestling was never even supposed to be on said match so I don't know why you expected it. Batista winning was not at Bryans expense since Bryan wasn't involved.

And it's not necessarily face Batista. It's Batista, there's 2 months til Mania.

They sure weren't doing too hot prior to being given complete creative freedom to act as edgy as they pleased. Both had the talent, but talent wouldn't have meant much of anything if the product continued to be less entertaining than WCW.

1998 and 1999 were not great in-ring years, but I think 2000 and 2001 would disagree with you.

Did he have the Gracie Jiu Jitsu logo on his tights?

But yeah, the arm accessories and the weird length tights and the half tennis shoe half wrestling boot combo was all around an off putting look.

That's not what he's saying. He's saying that Batista's thrust into the WWE Title match at Mania is being done at the expense of Daniel Bryan. A lot of people feel that he should be in that position. Logic backs them up.

Loved the entire event tonight:

Bryan/Wyatt definitely exceeded expectations and I hope this is a sign of things to come from Bray's matches quality-wise.

Lesnar/Show was exactly what it needed to be, b/c let's face it, it would've been shit on if it had gone on for a while. Lesnar looks like a beast which is exactly what's needed as WM season starts.

Cena/Orton was damaged by the crowd. Although, this is how you can tell if a wrestler is great or not. They made the crowd get invested despite how hard they wanted to shit on it.

I'm not sure Bray Wyatt is ready for the position his about to in, but then again Cena did ME a Mania with the Miz so........

The Rumble match was excellent quality wise and could be one of the top ones. Reigns was a beast, Rollins got elevated by his marathon tonight, Punk continues his rivalry against the Authority (btw you can clearly see Kane at ringside twice after he got eliminated, once when JBL got in the ring and the other when the later Uso came out),
the roster spots also wasn't wasted a lot on washed up vets, Nash looks good thanks to that DDP yoga and JBL came and went.

The outcome just was disappointing, I hope the rest of the RTWM is good but it didn't get off to a good start with the Rumble winner. Also, you can clearly see the future of the upcoming years with Wyatt, Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Cesaro, Langston, and Bryan.

As I said: it was entertaining. It's like candy: it tastes great at the time, then you're fat and have diabetes.

2000 is either first or second in terms of in ring product. It's also in the Attitude Era in name only.

2001.....not so much.

Pardon me and the thousands of others for having some expectation of the hottest act being put in a position to win the Royal Rumble.

It is face Batista.

Mind if I borrow this for tomorrow?

As suggested on my site:

#30 is Bad News Barrett. "I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS for you all: Daniel Bryan is not in the Royal Rumble this year, but BAD NEWS BARRETT IS!"

Oh man he would have been set for life.

Jesus, If they had played the start of Bryan's music and had Barrett interrupt it. Bigger heat than Hogan turning.

So I guess the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match has only 1 wrestler in it? See I always thought there were at least TWO wrestlers. Sometimes they even have MORE then 2 wrestlers.

And Batista belongs there as he's a bigger star and brings more buys then Daniel Bryan. Just like why The Rock belonged higher in the card at Mania then CM Punk.

I love when people bash the Attitude Era for making things so much harder for the next generation. Maybe there are a few factors AE haters tend to leave out - the top stars of today (Cena, Punk, Orton, Batista, etc) just aren't as good as Austin and (to a lesser extent) Rock, HHH and Foley. Not to mention WWE hasn't really built mega stars (with the exception of Cena) in roughly 15 or so years...

Yet they're making a fortune and are on top of the world. Interesting how that works.

The hottest act in wrestling doesn't always win the Royal Rumble.

Did you watch the conclusion of the match? He was pretty much heeling it up rather well. Sure he entered a face (a returning legend always is a face even if they left as a heel) but by the end he was a heel.

The way I feel about Batista is the way I felt about the Rock...

If he is such a big star, why does he need to be in the WWE title match?

Batista just may need the title, given how little he means in terms of star power when compared to Rocky.
