WWE Royal Rumble 1/26/14 LD

Batista looked awful. I was happy to see him return, but that was just beyond horrible. I do think Vince/HHH know what they are doing. They aren't idiots. However, booing Rey Mysterio because he wasn't Daniel Bryan was fucking dumb.

It was unfair to take out so much hate on Mysterio, for sure. But once he was gone, all the hate was on Batista, which is where it should've been since, while I have nothing against Batista, he's Hunter and Vince's guy.

I'm waiting for someone to defend this ending, it might have been obvious by the return on Monday but it's still a horrid decision regardless. This was a worse deflating feeling than Sheamus winning in 2012.

I don't remember any bad feelings about Sheamus winning for most people.

I think those of us at home knew it was fairly obvious Bryan won't be in the Rumble in the mid 20's by sheer elimination.

Poor Rey getting shitted on for having the number 30 when the crowd just lost it when they realize Bryan wasn't in the rumble.

Booking Batista to win the Rumble was stupid. He looked more gassed than the Rock in his first comeback. Shame one of the more entertaining rumble got ruined by the smarky reaction at the end. The crowd was great for the whole night before that though. Wasted spots for Nash and JBL though. I guess Kevin Nash needed a paycheck again.

This is a perfect example of why you should book what the people want & not book your friends. They should have seen the reaction coming & changed the decision accordingly. If Bryan wasnt supposed to be in then fine, but the crowd clearly wanted no part of Batista winning & Vince could have made a call on the fly.

Now he has a ton of pissed off people on his hands & I bet they are already scrambling to rewrite RAW.

Say what you want about this crowd, they WANTED to get behind something. The WWE simply didn't give them what they wanted.

Worst Royal Rumble in history. And it's not even close.

Disagree. There have been worse Rumbles and worse Rumble matches. Was this a perfect Rumble? God no, Bryan winning (deserving or otherwise) would have made it one of the best, and even a Reigns-save would have left it as one of the greats. As it is, it's a very fun and very good Royal Rumble match with an unfortunate ending.

RAW is going to be a Batista Booing festival tomorrow.
Feel for Batista, not really the welcome back he was expecting, I am sure.
Loved his showdown with Ryback. Hope they have a match soon.

Daniel Bryan should have been in this match, even if he had to be screwed over by someone.

Poor Rey Mysterio. Unfortunately had to be on the end of the loads of boos.

Where was Kane hiding for the entire time? Although, can't say I didn't expect him to eliminate Punk in any case. Was obvious.

Great Show for Roman Reigns. Happy for him as a fan. Loved the Ambrose attempt at eliminating him, then the sequence thereafter with his trash talking. Also, being a fan who wants a slow push for him, it was good they didn't let him win the whole thing.

Antonio Cesaro's Giant Swing on Rollins was...Awesome.

Loved Kofi Kingston Annual Rumble Moment.

I had hoped to see Chris Jericho and RVD return as well.

Lastly, the Current Roster is brilliant as a whole compared to what is has been for quite a while. Loads of quality Superstars which meant a few came off looking worse than they should have unfortunately.

Oh well. A good Pay Per View that'll be remembered for what happened after Mysterio came out onwards.

And it was almost the night where Reigns became a huge deal...

Obvious yes but Sheamus wasn't universally hated like he kinda is now. Most people were excited if i remember.

The 18 seconds thing and his summer feud with Del Rio pretty much unfairly turned folks against him and he's had trouble shaking it. I've always been a big fan and even I couldn't stand the Del Rio feud.

People were okay with Sheamus winning because there were two world titles. So for all the people that were supporting Jericho, they weren't pissed because he went for the WWE title while Sheamus went for the WHC.

I disagree, and respond to your statement by saying WWE's booking decision was awful.

The equivilant of leaving Bryan out of the Rumble altogether is on par if not greater then if in 1998, WWE said, "fuck it we'll have Austin open the Rumble and then nobody will see him for the rest of the night, screw how over he is".

Fans pay their ticket, they can cheer and boo whoever and whatever they like.

1. Daniel Bryan isn't Steve Austin.
2. Daniel Bryan WASN'T advertised as a participant in the Rumble match.

I agree he should've been in the match, but it wasn't booked that way, and WWE gave no indication he'd be in that match.

Crowd saved the show. WWE should've known better, booking the show in Smarktown

I hate smarky crowds, always have. And I agree - WWE blew it, at whatever point in time they decided DB would be an all-around loser tonight.

For me it was always how he was booked like an asshole all the way through feuds after 18 seconds. Also he was a good example of superstar being shoved down our throats, Dolph faced him for the world title on PPV and the crowd were noticeably pro-Dolph and at one point i remember Lawler saying something to the effect of "this crowd is really anti-Ziggler".

Then there was the Sandow feud. Oh God.

Only thing that could have saved the ending would have been Batista cutting a bad ass heel promo mocking Bryan and his fan boys. That would have taken it to an entirely new level.

The Rumble started off well I thought and then massively decreased towards the end. They wasted Rumble places on superstars that didn't need push or even deserved to be in there, A lot of tag teams went into there tonight? There not the ones who need the push it's the lone superstars who are getting used wrongly as jobbers who need that. The Usos, JBL and Possibly The Wyatt's places could of went elsewhere to more deserving superstars.

Why give Batista the win? We all knew it from a mile off that he would win it but Batista has a name and wouldn't be short of a setting up a normal storyline not via RR. They has the perfect chance to give a young talent a chance on the biggest stage of the them all why crafting a interesting story line between him and his ex/fellow teammates Rollins and Ambrose integrating into his title push.

Perfect Storyline: Regins wins. Shield get rid of him after he gets rid of them both. Starts rivalry with Orton. Orton hires Ambrose and Rollins and creates a alliance with them who are still a tag team. Orton V Rollins at WM30. Ambrose and Rollins get tag titles push. Orton v Rollins= Rollins win. Dubbed the new legend killer. Fairytale like story. In the coming weeks Ambrose v Rollins v Regins setting up rivalry for a storyline including the title. Giving three fresh new talents and chance.

Creative need to listen to the Fans and Critics for Mania. Have the right matches and crowd pleasers and not bore fests

They try to keep US down and away from the top spots, but they can’t ignore the reactions forever. Keep voicing your opinions. #YESMovement

Sorry guys, the machine wanted me nowhere near the Royal Rumble match. But I thank everyone for their support. YOU are the #YESMovement

Perfect timing for WWE to have a craptastic Mania main event. With the Network debuting and obviously gonna be a huge seller WWE has their built in excuse for a low Mania PPV buyrate.

If Roman Reigns would have won, the people would have been happy. Same for CM Punk and a few others. So, why Batista? Because he is Vince/HHH's boy. They knew that the crowd would hate this. They knew most viewers would dislike it.

I fully expect HHH to come out tomorrow night and "explain" to the crowd that Bryan couldn't be in the Rumble because of a concussion.

Also ridiculous they put Big E in at 29, to lose in like 3 minutes. Why even put him in if you are going to do that?
