WWE Royal Rumble 1/26/14 LD

I got a few thoughts after tonight.

1) overall the rumble was good
2) Cena vs. Wyatt has awesome written all over for it.
3) I really hope WWE has a plan for Bryan I'm not seeing. If not then they're being real stupid keeping their most popular guy on the bench, especially since the crowd was begging for him.
4) I'm fine with Batista/Orton, not the right pick IMO but I'm fine with it. With that said it shouldn't be the main event, the match isn't big enough or interesting enough. Its just not the match to carry the biggest event of the year.

As far as Batista winning goes, did WWE not hear how little the crowd cared on Monday? I'm starting to think HHH is further out of touch than I had thought.

HHH and Vince are not trying to anger you, they just can't seem to get out of their own way as of late.

Batista winning is fine. Completely fine. The fans would have booed Santa with bags full of Corvettes and mansions for them all without Bryan in the Rumble tonight.

Thats without a shadow of a doubt the worst Royal Rumble match I have ever seen and I have seen them all. In no way shape or form should Batista have won that match. Even if that were the plan from the beginning they should have called an audible and changed things up when the crowd literally turned on everyone in the match that wasn't Roman Reigns. Not even having Daniel Bryan in the match was a huge slap in the face and the crowd let everyone know it, then when they got behind Reigns they fucked that up by letting Batista win and get a horrible reaction. Batista will now get booed and have the YES Chants and all that shit thrown on him, he is a heel now whether they want him to be or not. Vince and HHH royally fucked up tonight and they better get their heads outta their asses or WM30 is going to go down as one of the worst ever.

Batista winning is fine.

A lot of people disagree with that. He is not in good wrestling shape and the Batista vs Orton match should be a fans fall asleep match. The first one who puts the fans to sleep wins the match. I have a funny feeling that the macth would go five minutes at best.

This was a PERFECT opportunity to put someone over like Reigns. Since they are so content to hold DB down build up another star.

I attended the show live and it was okay. I loved the Bryan and Bday match. The crowd really got behind Bryan and they booed Bray when it was needed. Overall, the crowd really liked the match.

Big Show and Lesnar in my opinion was a big disappointment. I understand the massive beating .

I also loved the Cena match but the crowd ruined it for me. I understand wanting Bryan. But give it a rest. I thought the match was solid.

I'm fine with Roman Reigns or any member of The Shield breaking Kane's Royal Rumble elimination record at some point, but not this year. It is too soon. They have only been on the active roster for about 13 months. Once they have reached veteran status then it would be fine. Why hand out achievements for Reigns when his career has only just started? Do you want him to brag about the 2014 Royal Rumble forever? Allow him some time to find his place on the card and accomplish some other things first so that breaking Kane's record can be a bigger deal, and he will be more believable in the role by then. I'd say next year maybe it can be considered, it's too soon to do it now.

This whole crowd shit has made many forget the positives; Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Rusev debut, Kofi's cool spots, the finisher fest that Orton and Cena had, and Lesnar finally going after the main prize in the WWE. I was more upset that Big Show walked off on his own after that savage beating and Sheamus eliminating Big E from the Rumble.

I've actually paid money to watch this.

I should have known.

In truth the card was good. The opening match was great. Rusev was cool as fudge. Brock Lesnar did what was needed, and El Torrito was fantastic. A little work on the booking and we would have had gold.

Great rumble match until the end fell through! Set up a LOT going forward; Cody/Goldy, Shield, Rusev (I hope). Little to complain about there.
