It was kinda weird to see DBD lose the title. Basically, it took a two time WWE Champion to knock him off, in concept. If you think about it in kayfabe terms, the guy that beat the WWE Champion for the US title, and then beat him two more times, not to mention build up a streak, and God knows how many title defenses in the house shows, was knocked off his US title run by a former WWE Champion and a King of the Ring winner.

I would love to have seen WWE at least acknowledge that in part. But, WWE has selective memory at times. I've no idea about how to see this right now.
