The Brain

King Of The Ring
We now have Rey Mysterio vs. R Truth added to the Over The Limit pay per view. Obviously this was supposed to be Morrison but I think Mysterio is a nice substitution for the injured Morrison. How do you see this match going? I would think R Truth would get the win since he’s getting a push after a heel turn, however he hasn’t been booked too strongly since the turn. He seems to be going crazy because he’s been overlooked by the fans and GM. A loss could push Truth further away from sanity which could be the direction his character is going. What do you think?

I agree.... I see him taking the loss here and going even more insane after the match and maybe beating down Mysterio.

Then he can beat down midcarders and such on RAW until Morrison returns then they can continue their feud.

I do have to say i wasn't anywhere near a fan of Truth as a face but i think his heel turn is being well done and he seems to be doing a good job with it so far

i LOVE r-truth as a heel. i guarantee over the next few weeks he starts getting more heat than any other heel on RAW. hell, more heat than anyone in the WWE. does he win? christ, i can't predict this stuff anymore. i'd love him to win clean to establish him as a bad ass heel, but he prob won't.

so here's my prediction:

r-truth wins... but it's dirty. surprise surprise.

I love R-Truth but this match worries me, when Truth was going to face Morrison I assumed that it meant Truth was going over. But then you take J Mo out of the picture and replace him with Mysterio I see a guy who was most likely supposed to go over at Over The Limit facing someone who never lets guys over. So I suppose the only smart thing to go with is Mysterio wins, and then drives Truth more insane. Although I feel like having him drop one right now, while it would boost his psycho meter it would hurt him too much. That's just my opinion though, I would prefer to see Truth go over this sunday but the odds are against it.

After Orton vs Christian, this is the match that holds my interest the most. Heel R-Truth has been everything face R-Truth failed at being: refreshing, entertaining, relatable and above all, a relevation. I would go on to say that he has been one of the most interesting things on Raw since he has turned heel.

While R-Truth is someone who deserves a lot of credit for shutting up a lot of judgemental and oversmart wrestling fans, let's not forget about the other guy in the match. Mysterio has been one of the most consistent performers in the WWE from the time he has debuted. He has put on great feuds almost every year and has also pushed deserving candidates. I expect nothing less from him in this feud either.

As for the result, I would go with Mysterio after Truth wins the match by cheating and the Raw GM reverses the decision. This will only get Truth more furious as he will claim that it is all a conspiracy to hold him down and thus, it will further develop his character. Both guys are good in the ring and this could be the show stealing match if they are given at least 15 minutes.

To think I was wanting Truth to be released at one point, R-Truth is the most refereshing thing in the WWE right now... he's playing his heel push soooo well (Raw just gone by he was brilliant, best he's been yet & did some of the best heel work I have seen for some time) I am looking forward to this match a lot. I see this one ending in either a dirty victory for Truth or Truth being DQ'd.

Uh oh.

Truth's character has been fantastic lately but now I fear that his one major flaw, the one that has been covered up greatly since his heel turn, is going to be exposed; Truth is absolutely awful in the ring. Luckily, he's in there with Mysterio who is much better at pulling decent matches out of thin air than Truth so it might not be as disastrous as it could be, but that's a lot of pressure on Rey. I'm not sure if he can cover Truth's suckishness enough for this to be good.

As for the match, I could really see it going either way. Truth could win using heel tactics or Rey could win causing Truth to go nuts and lay a massive beat down on Rey afterward. I'm thinking Truth wins though, just call it a hunch.

Should be interesting, Truth only works high spots so I don't know how that'll work with him being a heel. Truth should win to get over his new heel persona, but at the same time he's R-Truth and Rey Mysterio is simply above him in every way. The most intriguing match on the card.

I like this match, it is finally R Truth's push to the main event maybe. He is now feuding with main event people. His new gimmick is a lot better than his old one but i see one problem. What will his theme music be? You cant have him go out to singing his song like he had been doing all his career since he resigned with WWE. I guess they could give him some generic music until they find something suitable like they did with daniel bryan.

I would much rather see Truth pick up a win here than Mysterio especially considering he hasn't really been booked very strongly in recent months. A win over Mysterio could get him back on track. Of course, if he were to lose to Mysterio it might not be so bad as it might even add to his character development by having him go crazier. I foresee a Mysterio win here but I'm hoping for Truth to take it here.

Like Nate said, while R-Truth has been getting more interesting and relevant, certainly we need to know if he is actually good inside the ring or he can just "talk the talk and not walk the walk".

Who's going to win here? I can see it go either way, a win for Truth over a superstar like Mysterio can do tones for him, however we are indeed talking about one of the biggest faces that the WWE has to offer. IF Truth had alot more momentum coming to this match, well I could see him really winning. Right now, even if he is 39 has been in this biz for a considerable amount of time, he is still to green right now, at least as far his new heel character is concern.

Like Myriad said, I see winning Rey here and in some way "screwing" Truth. A roll up, reversed decision, DQ etc. either way it's going to help Truth's character to develop a little more. BUT for fuck sake he needs to quit doing that stupid face where he open his eyes "cause U KNOW BRO HE IS MAD!", is fucking stupid.

Finally, something new. Although I'm not that big a fan of either guy. Truth really needs the win here because it will help develop his newheel self. Rey has no reason towin at all, he will be over no matter what. I think it will come on 2nd or 3rd, as it's not that important of a match. It's filler until Morrison can return and Rey needed something to do. It certainly won't be the worst match of the night but it won't steal the show either. Truth wins after a decent match and both guys move on to other filler feuds.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
R-Truth will defeat Rey Mysterio.

I'm going with a Truth win here. Mysterio won't be as damaged by a loss as Truth would be. Truth needs to go over somebody and a win against Mysterio here can legitamize his heel run. If necessary Mysterio can get a win over him on Raw or the next PPV but it's important that truth shows that he can take the ball and run with it. If he loses here despite going crazy what faith are the people to have in Truth to make us more interested in his run if he still can't pull off a win. Probably dirty tactics will lead him to victory but a victory none the less. Maybe he can feud with Kofi after this and hold the US title while he's waiting for Morrison to return.

For a start I think rey should not have gone 2 raw, I know we have seen rey vs randy a few times but the matches are always a joy to watch. Add christian into it for a triple thret and you have a good match and also a good storyline. I normally go with rey but because r-truth has just turned heel it would make more sense to have him win or even rey win by dq

Here's a match where Truth doesn't necessarily need to win to get over. Like some have said before, all Truth has to do is attack Rey after their match to over and solidify himself as a prominant heel. I think this match between Rey Mysterio and R-Truth could be quite interesting. I'll love to see R-Truth's transformation in the ring going from a crowd pleaser to a heat drawer. I think his moves inside the ring will change a bit from splits, somersaults and backflips to a lot more brawling techniques like clubs, chops and kicks. This match might be worth watching. But Rey definitely should win here with Truth losing his mind afterwards.

Hamler's Prediction - Rey Mysterio

At first I wasn't too crazy about Truth turning heel, but he's done a fine job with the bad guy role so far. He's an angry and bitter man. He's tired of trying to please the fans, and he doesn't want their acceptance anymore. I don't know how far Truth will go with this character, but a win over Mysterio at a pay per view could provide a nice boost.

I'm picking Truth to win this. Mysterio really doesn't need this victory, and a loss here shouldn't hurt him at all. This could be a nice match with a fast pace, and I wouldn't be surprised if Truth cheated to win here.

R-Truth as a heel has been refreshing and everything his face character could never be. He should do something crazy to establish his heel character in this match. A DQ leading Rey to win followed by a beatdown works or the referee being down and Truth using dirty tactics also works. Anything but a clean win for Truth works. But like someone mentioned, how is he going to come out? With no music as we've witnessed in the last month? Doesn't really work if you ask me. The least they can do is have Rey enter first but Truth crashing the party and attacking him from behind as he's walking towards the ring and quickly send him into the ring and ask for the ref to start the match.

I can see this going either way, Rey wins and Truth loses his mind or Truth wins by cheating. This is one match I can't really predict but I expect a Rey win if I absolutely to have to go with either.

I see absolutely no reason to have Rey win here. Truth is being pushed as a big time heel on Raw and he needs a big win to solidify that, which is what he can get here. Rey isn’t going to lose his level of importance through one loss, so I don’t see any reason for him to not lay down for Truth here. Hopefully they won’t sacrifice another heel for Mysterio’s sake and I don’t think they will.

I'm sure Truth will probably win by some cheap way that solidifies him as a heel and doesn't make Rey look bad. The same way they did with Rhodes and Rey when they were trying to push Rhodes as a heel.

The whole no theme music thing for Truth is kinda weird... maybe they just haven't found any that fit him anymore.. I wonder if they will keep that going

I hated that match!!
It did really suck, and for me Mysterio is no longer main-eventer...

Losing to newcomers (ADR), losing to mid-cards (Cody Rhodes) and now losing to former jobbers (Truth)???
How bad is Mysterio booking?? I would rather prefer to see Mysterio winning with a role-up and being assaulted after the match....

God, that match make me fall asleep!!

God, that match make me fall asleep!!

I beg to differ, I totally enjoyed this one. For me, winning or losing is important, but only if the match is exciting, and only if the match is good. You might not like the ending, but this match IS good.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
R-Truth will defeat Rey Mysterio.

I got this one right. It was a good opener and I am pleased with the results because not only did the right guy get the win, but this match also helped get the crowd into the show as it opened.
