EC- Taker vs Punk vs Morrison vs Jericho vs Mysterio vs R-Truth - WHC

In past years, when I look at Elimination Chamber matches for Smackdown and for Raw, it is usually the Raw one that strikes my attention. However, for this year... there is a big exception. I am looking forward to this Elimination Chamber match a whole lot more than Raw's one.

This will be The Undertaker's 3rd Elimination Chamber match in a row. This will be Jericho's 6th... WOW! With not a single win. This will be Rey Mysterio's 2nd. This will be Punk's 2nd. And Morrison's and R-Truth's first Elimination Chamber match. This interests me a lot more than Raw's.

Right now, I think I can pretty much eliminate Morrison and R-Truth from winning. This will be Rey Mysterio's 3rd World Title match in just a 2 month span. Chris Jericho now has all the momentum in the world with his recent victory against the champion. C.M. Punk in this match doesn't really work for me, for some reason. As much as I love The Undertaker and want to see him retain, go to Wrestlemania as champion, retain there, and go on from there... I think his reign will likely be coming to an end.

With Edge as the 2010 Royal Rumble winner, I think he will most likely pick Smackdown's Elimination Chamber winner. Edge vs. R-Truth isn't the right type of main event match for Wrestlemania. Edge vs. John Morrison could work someday, but I'd prefer a later Wrestlemania. I don't think we'll se Edge vs. Undertaker again. Edge vs. Rey Mysterio... let's hope not. I say that because I was really hoping to see Rey in this year Money in the Bank. I never really liked Edge vs. C.M. Punk. So, that only leaves one man. Which is why I believe Edge was chosen to win the Rumble match this year.

Prediction: Chris Jericho wins the World Heavyweight Championship.

I'm a huge punk fan and would love for him to win to set up an epic Edge vs Punk program *revenge for first cash in, along with Edge being Rated R and punk being a psychotic clean living messiah claiming he's the reason smackdown is around etc* I do not want Punk to win a belt and then drop it a month later.

I'm sick of Punk getting lame champ reigns (although, while short punk/jeff was best fued ive seen in a while..damn it was good) and would rather WHC gold wait to come to his waist until he keeps it in the SES for a good long while.

So I'm guessing Jericho wins it to put more on the line for their feud and edge wins, gets established as face, gets a decent run and maybe drops it to punk or fueds with the SES as they overtake smackdown....not literally or overly..nothing cheesy, just that outside players are taking notice.

could work, i can see hbk eliminating the undertaker which may force a hbk Vs Undertaker part 2.

so my prediction is that Chris Jericho will get the win, and facing edge at WM.

First; John Morrison's injury is likely to sideline him from what I understand. (I have no clue of this injury, so I don't know what thats all about) Regardless, my question is this.. from looking at the names who're entered in this thing, then questioning who could be a replacement..

Where is Batista in all of this? I mean, isn't he still feuding with the Undertaker? Or did that end randomly with a chair shot and a one-n-done type of thing back in December at T.L.C? I personally think Batista could enter into this thing. But thats just me. If not him, let it be McIntyre, since he was the guy I believe was feuding with Morrison. Makes sense for him to replace him.

Now then, rumors running around say Chris Jericho wins the title - faces Edge at Mania. But, why? Oh, because they were a Tag team for a whole month and a half before Jericho replaced Edge and claimed he was better? Yep, thats a solid Main Event storyline to head into Mania.

GIVE C.M. PUNK THE TITLE!

He has the single greatest heel gimmick building right now. The man is acting like a carbon copy of Jesus, if Jesus were a Wrestler and playing the role of heel. How is this not the single greatest heel gimmick ever known to man right now? Furthermore, how is Punk against Edge not solid gold in storyline and match format?!

Punk is straight edge. Edge stands for everything dirty, and adult rated. Switch around the fact that Punk is acting better than thou, and Edge will lead in a similar style that Hardy did in the "I may lead a non-role model life style, but its my choice" gimmick. I would rather see Punk and Edge feud, than Edge and Jericho.

I feel no emotion for Jericho and Edge. I feel no desire to even care to see it beyond a one-off style match, much less the Main Event of Wrestlemania. So I want Punk to win the title, and face Edge at Mania. That is my dream Mania match right now.

I want to see John Morrison win it.Even though thats not gonna happen.Even if his elimnated last I will be happy.Lets be honest.He was meant to be in the World Title race befoer Mysterio got suspended and John had to take his plave as IC champ.

CM Punk put up a great show at the Royal Rumble, however, he was thrown out rather easily by one half of the tag team champions, not really what you want from your potential champion, so I cannot see him winning this match.

Undertaker will probably face Michaels at Mania, so I cannot see him having the title.

Morrison/Mysterio/Truth are just not in line at this time, especially with Mania coming up to be Champion.

I know Jericho just seems too easy to be the champion, but the WWE loves to make Edge happy, and a match between these two seems like it will happen at Wrestlemania. So this will be the first step in making that happen, the two men with such great chemistry together will be facing off.

I would like to see either Undertaker retain, Jericho win, or Punk win. Now, Im pretty sure Jericho or taker will win the match here but if punk won how awesome would it be for him to defend the title against undertaker at Wrestlemania!!! Either that or he could face Edge. Of course I see the flaws in this and its the fact that if punk wins and he faces undertaker at Mania, Punk will lose the title because of takers streak. This would make Punk look bad (yet again). On the other hand, if this were to happen, Jericho could fight edge one-on-one, and Shawn Micheals could face triple h one-on-one.
Anywho, just saying that punk vs. Undertaker at Mania would be cool. I dont see that to happen and with the storyline right now I dont even think it would be good for it to happen. Maybe next year!!!
To be real here, I see jericho winning the title and defending it against edge at mania. If not then Taker will win and defend the title against Shawn micheals. Edge could then face Chris Jericho one-on-one. Another possibility for this year's Wrestlemania is a Triple threat match with Undertaker vs. Shawn micheals vs. triple H. That would be interesting!!

I believe Undertaker will face someone new at Wrestlemania, like he's always done. I also believe Shaemus will win the Raw Elimination Chamber.

Both champions will win their chamber, the Undertaker will defend his title against Chris Jericho and CM Punk in a triple threat match with both his title and streak on the line (and due to his fitness concerns, you wonder can he do another 30 minute match), while Sheamus will defend and lose his WWE title against Edge to start a feud between the two.

HBK will end up facing HHH because that makes more sense than HBK v Undertaker.

this match has everything that the RAW main event doesn't, full potential as match of the year. Yes I do hope that Taker does give up the belt, but even if he does, isn't there still an expectation for Taker to still have the 5 star match at mania with HBK? Either way like others are saying it should be either Punk or Jericho. Hopefully if nothing else I don't want to see Mysterio end up in the final one on one confrontation. Though with Y2J it could work, hmmm. I don't think Punk will win the title because I think much like Shelton people are expecting Punk in MITB. This sets up for the great Jericho/Edge main event. By the way I am praying that this EC match does take the main event and isn't buried as the opening contest but given the infatuation Vince has with Raw I don't see this happening. okay i dont know if anyone has posted about this, but this what i believe is gonna happen at the EC ppv in the world heavyweight title match. Recently john morrison posted that he supposedly broke his ankle in 3 places which we have been confirmed that it is an act. I believe this has been done so that shawn Michael's will replace him in the chamber match. I think that Shawn will win the title and that will guarantee him and taker at mania for the title or shawn is gonna take morrisons spot in the chamber, hes gonna pin taker and then jericho is gonna roll shawn up and win the title so that it will set up edge and jericho for the title at WM. This will also set up undertaker and shawn at WM because Taker is gonna want revenge on shawn for costing him his title.

Well, even though I'd personally like to see Chris Jericho picking up the win - and the belt - here, as I've already posted in the thread, come to think of it, the point that some people raised for CM Punk is quite a strong one.

Now I wasn't too big on Punk when he was a face, though he was quite ok... but the way the belt was put on him, and his first title reign was booked, just made him come across like a "fluke champion" who wins by luck more than as an "underdog champion", who defies the odds and comes out on top. But with his current heel persona, he's really golden and definitely one of the best heels of the company; perhaps second only to Chris Jericho himself. And considering how much attention has been put on the Straight Edge society lately, it does even seem possible WWE could put the title on him for Wrestlemania instead of Jericho. Because even though Jericho is a very reliable name at this point of his career, and rarely disappoints, especially as a heel, CM Punk just might be the hotter commodity right now indeed... so I guess I'm pretty torn here between Punk and Jericho; I really hope one of those two picks up the win (and I still root for Jericho here, since he really deserves headlining another WM as champion), as Taker doesn't need the belt anyway, Rey probably is not draw enough, and for Morrison (if he's healthy) and Truth, it's just a bit too early. This match definitely has me more interested than the RAW chamber, that's for sure.

first off welcome to the madness, second, i don't really see the WWE recycling this idea after only one year. If the alleged worked "Broken Ankle" of morrison's is gonna be put into a storyline, maybe HBK heels john out and puts himself in on the last smackdown (yes my argument could be refuted in the next 3 hours based on tapings spoilers). I don't see HBK pulling a trick out of Edge's playbook though this soon, nice concept though. Frankly I hope R-Truth is still in the chamber cause I'm interested in seeing if he pulls any good spots off

If you watched the last smackdown , you've had understood that it will be EDGE vs. Jericho.

The statements Jericho made during his promo was wrestlemania material.He said to edge when he is around edge , bad things happen for Edge.This is one kind of promo which leads to mania.

Don't forget we had HBK absent on Raw.I think he will interfere in chamber for sure.It doesn't make any sense that HBK won't attend the PPV which will be held 5 weeks befpre Mania.I have a feeling that he will screw HHH or Taker.

I picked Jericho to win just because HBK vs Taker 2 will be great without the title again anyway and since Edge won the Rumble and eliminating Jericho, this would elevate the feud that much more. I think Edge vs Jericho for the gold at Wrestle Mania would be great to see. Both men are well established and it would be great to see these two men main event without Triple H, Cena, and Orton involved.

The most logical choice is to have Jericho win the match as it sets up Edge vs. Jericho, but I just wonder how much the legal troubles with Jericho weigh into the decision. Because of that reason allow, I think Taker might retain. I'm rooting for Taker so maybe he'll show up on Raw on Monday since I'm gonna be there haha, but I would be really happy if Morrison won.

I'll discuss each wrestler individually, just like I did for the WWE Championship match. This will be the match of the night!

Taker - Taker's had a long reign but I think it's ending here. It would be cool to see him walk into Wrestlemania as champion for once, as he never has. However, if they really are doing a sequel to HBK VS Taker this year, then the title's not needed since that match would be a draw on its own. Heck, any Taker match is a draw because of the streak, and the title can go to someone else.


Punk - Punk's got decent odds of winning, he's been on a roll lately with the Straightedge Society stable and his great heel promos.... I'm not sure if he'll win though. He will probably make it to the final 3 or so.


Morrison - I would mark out if Morrison won.... but I doubt it. Something tells me he's going to win MITB instead, and get his first world title through that rather than win here.


Jericho - Seems to be the pick for most of us. His odds are arguably the highest because we are all anticipating the Edge VS Jericho match, myself included. WWE might try to swerve us somehow though like last year with Edge.


Mysterio - Not gonna happen. He's only in the match to do some cool high flying spots.


Truth - Not liking his odds of winning, but it'd be nice. He doesn't seem ready to main event just yet, but I like that he's going to be in the match at least.

My vote goes to Jericho because the match between him and Edge seems all but set in stone, although I can't help but wonder if something is going to happen to complicate things.... HBK might try to interfere to further his angle with Taker, or perhaps we might see another huge swerve similar to Edge's from a year ago.

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to go with popular opinion: it's going to be Jericho (great!).

It's a well known fact that Undertaker needs time off to get over some injuries, so he needs to drop the belt. Hopefully, he will be able to come back in time to face Michaels at Wrestlemania.

Once Jericho wins, it sets up his feud with Edge, leading to a match at Wrestlemania for the title. WWE have been teasing the Edge/Jericho feud for months, so it wouldn't suprise me.

...of course, they could go with the unexpected and have CM Punk win it (I wouldn't object to this either). Perhaps this would eventually lead to a triple threat match at Wrestlemania between CM Punk, Jericho and of course, Edge.

So it's it's not Jericho, it'll almost certainly be CM Punk. No sense in having Mysterio win it.

So I posted here a few weeks ago and I said hopefully john morrison will win. Don't get me wrong I'd like to see y2j vs edge at wrestlemania but it seems that if jericho wins he is just gonna drop the belt to edge in what looks like a 1-month title reign. Again I would have no problem w/ y2j vs edge but the fact that jericho will only get a month for his title reign kind of makes me think that his not gonna win this Sunday. Though it would be logical for him to win, I think they could have this feud go places rather than finish it up at wrestlemania.

"Hey lets go ahead and overlook a totally money feud thats already built in and ready to go, so we can start something new with a guy who has been nothing but a curtain jerker at WM with 4 weeks left before the show!!! I don't know how it is going to happen, but HBK will be in here, and he is gonna cost Taker the belt, OOORRRR possibly just win it his damn self. I doubt the second one. Its happening though. He is either gonna low ball him right BEFORE the match, like Edge did to Kofi last year, or take the place of an injured John Morrison, and cost Taker the match, to Chris Jericho.

It's all actually so obvious to me, the story build has almost child like simplicity. Jericho has been getting built up, garunteeing that he will win. Edge hates him already, and after that promo on Friday, im not sure how the fuck anyone doesn't have it figured out that its gonna come down to the two of them at Mania, probably to close the show in fact. Rey and Punk are also obviously going in the direction of a program.

HBK will cost Taker. Jericho will win. Morrison will get hurt. Punk and Mysterio will kill each other. R-Truth will do flippies.

Jericho is going to win. The Raw Chamber is extremely unpredictable, but this one is the exact opposite. Truth is a token midcarder, JoMo will probably be replaced by HBK so he can cost Taker and set up that match, Rey is Rey, and Punk isn't at a place to become champ again. Jericho will win and we will see the former Unified Tag Team Champions face off at WrestleMania.

On the surface this one is to easy to call. However Vince likes to take the obvious and crush it to make us feel stupid. Lets look at the participants:

R-Truth- I don't even know why he is in this match. I don't see any value in this guy as a main eventer. He is good for the mid-card to get the fans going but thats about it. No chance.

John Morrison- In 2011 I think he will be a realistic option to win at EC and headline Mania, not this year.

CM Punk- His road to mania apparently has a final destination in the "619." hard for me to see him winning.

Rey Mysterio- Had a good showing last year in the EC. Like I said with Punk their paths are destined to meet at mania. However I put Rey's chances at 50/50. I'll explain later.

Undertaker- Rumor is he is taking time off after mania again for that reason combined with him having to keep the streak alive at mania means he can't go into mania as champion. He will not win.

Chris Jericho- Everyone's odds on favorite to leave EC with the title. Knowing how Vince likes to crush the obvious I'm simply putting jericho at 50/50.

PREDICTION-

Truth and Morrison will be the first 2 guys eliminated. Next Mysterio will eliminate Punk. Leaving us with REY, Jericho and Taker. Undertaker will dominate and appear to be unstoppable. Chokeslam to Jericho, Last Ride to Rey......."what happened to the lights?" Lights come back on with HBK behind Undertaker. Deadman turns around to some sweet chin music. HBK pulls Jericho over for the pin and the Undertaker is eliminated. We are now down to Y2J and REY. Shocking everyone the winner of smackdown's EC match Rey Mysterio. On the next Smackdown we will get a Jericho vs Mysterio match where CM Punk costs Rey the title. End result after tonight and the next Smackdown will be Y2J-Edge, Taker-HBK, REY-Punk hair vs mask at Mania.

I think its plain obvious its going to be Jericho winning it all. Taker is definately going to drop the strap (probably thanks to HBK), and nobody else in the match IMO is really worthwhile winning it (or they are involved in other fueds).

This will set up a perfect chance to start the Edge/Jericho feud over the strap starting at Wrestlemania.
