WWE Heavyweight Championship: Triple H vs. Vladimir Koslov

While i did find myself getting rather bored throughout the HHH/Koslov portion of this match, i have to say i respect them for trying to put on a different kind of match. Koslov wrestled using an effective strategy, took all of the Game's signature moves and still looked as though he had a decent chance of beating HHH. The fans were well in there right to chant for Hardy, i feel it was a kick in the nuts to the fans to push him so strongly and then just not bother to have him in the match at all, but those fans clearly had no patience. The match was barely 5 minutes in before they started chanting boring and didn't even give it a chance.

And then as soon as Vickie appeared we all knew that it was time for the return of the Rated - R superstar. Survivor Series has become renowned for a World Title match to end with a screwjob and this year didn't disappoint.

Gotta agree with what others have posted though. I too am sick of seeing Edge waltz in at the end of matches, hit 2 moves and then win the title. It really makes him look like a shit champion. He's only won 1 title match where he was involved the whole way through and didn't break the rules and that was in the triple threat with Cena and RVD. EVERy other time it's been MITB, or winning a vacant title in TLC (thanks to a 4 man run in) or sunday's debacle.

Have him win clean once in a while and maybe he'll have a bit more credibility. Obvious what was going to transpire from the moment Guerrero appeared, but i'm glad that they did it in a way that Koslov didn't lose any momentum or anything. Maybe Armageddon should feature a Fatal 4 Way but it's unlikely.

Makes no sense having Vickie and Edge together again either.

For all you guys who are tearing down Edge's role, can I just point out, it got one of the loudest pops of the evening, both when it turned out to be him instead of Jeff, and then when he got the pin.

Edge, pure and simple, is money. He's mega over, and the way he steals championships is a big reason for that. The crowd's reaction, they all knew it was coming, but the atmosphere was as big for that as anything all night, so the writers played a blinder as far as I'm concerned.

Aside from that, if HHH won cleanly, there'd have been the usual anti-HHH moans. If Hardy had been in the match and won, there'd be the usual Har dy doesn't deserve the title crap that so many people spout, and if Kozlov had won, then we'd have a rookie WWE champion, who while technically sound doesn't really tell a story with his match.

You can't please everyone, and I think the reaction of the masses in attendance means more to WWE than the smart alec's on internet forums who think their needs are more important than the average fan

Once news broke that Hardy was found unconscious, it was clear that it was the doing of Edge. The thing I hate about this is it doesn't make sense for Vickie to help him. Last time we saw Edge and Vickie on the same show, he was tormenting her for putting him in HIAC with Taker (to which Edge was eventually sent to "hell") and destroying La Familia one by one. And then all of a sudden she is helping him get the WWE championship. I've enjoyed watching Smackdown the past few months without the Edge/Vickie lovefest and it worries me that its going to continue. I enjoy watching Edge as he's one of the best heels in the business, but sometimes they make him come off as incredibly weak. There's a difference in being the "ultimate opportunist" and just plain weak. Unfortunately he's gravitated towards the latter as of late

You are so right I mean just think how hard it must be for the writer you know we always blame them for everything when its really their just trying to do what best for their jobs and sometimes that NOT listen to the fans

I agree, but for a different reason. I think the fact that edge keeps stealing victories and winning titles that he doesn't "earn" or deserve elevate his status as a heel. It makes you hate him even more, and each time you watch him in a championship match, you can be on the edge of your seat wondering if this is the time he'll finally have the title taken away. It's exactly the same sort of tactics that were done with shawn michaels, way back in the day during his intercontinental title runs.
