At Extreme Rules, Randy Orton will face The Big Red Monster Kane in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. How extreme will The Viper go to finally put an end to his monstrous foe once and for all?

A WrestleMania rematch of epic proportions, the diabolic match stipulation will provide the perfect grounds for Orton and Kane to exorcise their inner demons. No strangers to brutal, dangerous bouts, it’s safe to assume that WWE’s Apex Predator and resident monster will take each other to the edge on Sunday, April 29, to determine who will put the exclamation point on what has been a year’s worth of dissension.

The roots of this intense rivalry date back to July of last year, when Orton and Kane battled in an unforgettable Street Fight on SmackDown. In an effort to purge his humanity, Kane repeatedly struck Orton with a steel chair, an object that he brandished often over the course of the bout.

After the Street Fight ended, Kane, limping and battered, staggered over to the victorious Orton — who was also limping from multiple, horrific chair blasts — and, in an unexpected moment, extended his hand to WWE's Apex Predator in the ultimate sign of respect. Orton took Kane’s hand and the two shook as men.

After battling John Cena for months on end, The Big Red Monster returned to Friday nights to find closure with The Viper — with a profound desire to expunge himself of all traces of humanity.

Stalking The Viper for weeks on end, Kane would soon face Orton at WrestleMania in a bout that ended with a victory for The Devil's Favorite Demon, courtesy of a ring-shaking chokeslam off the top rope. Then, just five nights later on SmackDown, Orton defeated Kane in a vicious No Disqualification Match. The Viper got some redemption after his loss on The Grandest Stage of Them All, overcoming a ruthless steel chair assault to plant Kane with a resounding RKO. Instead of putting an end to this rivalry, however, Orton’s victory only worked to raise the ire of the monster.

On SuperSmackDown LIVE: Blast from the Past on April 10, Orton’s world went red during his match against Mark Henry when Kane’s pyrotechnics interrupted the bout. Kane then appeared on the TitanTron to reveal that he had attacked Randy’s father and WWE Hall of Famer "Cowboy" Bob Orton, who lay motionless at the monster’s feet. The Viper rushed backstage to help his dad, but Kane was waiting in the shadows with a pipe.

The assault on two generations of Ortons brought WWE’s Apex Predator past his breaking point. On the April 20 episode of SmackDown, Orton emphatically stated his intentions for their Falls Count Anywhere Match at Extreme Rules, saying, "Kane’s going to find out how sick and twisted I can be."

When they faced each other a year ago in a Street Fight on SmackDown, there was a mutual respect between Orton and Kane. This time around, that once-held respect is replaced by pure, simple hatred. The Street Fight ended with an RKO that drove the monster’s skull down onto a steel chair. But now that Kane has fully exorcised his humanity, will their rematch at Extreme Rules have a different result? Or will WWE’s Apex Predator finally get retribution on The Big Red Monster?

Their WrestleMania match was meh, while the rematch on SmackDown was a lot of fun and made me wish it had been their WrestleMania match. I'm not sure how this will work, I'm afraid they'll make it too gimmicky. I should rewatch that WrestleMania match, I didn't really enjoy it while raging over Bryan-Sheamus.

I was in a similar frame of mind to you after the world title match (if ya can call it a match) so my judgment of the match was somewhat clouded due to the fact i was still in shock. But i watched the replay of mania the day after and their match wasn't bad at all, not as good as their rematch but still not too bad. Im looking forward to their match at extreme rules and i just hope this is the end of the feud.

I actually did like their first match at WrestleMania the first time through, especially the top rope chokeslam and I wasn't really paying attention to their rematch which I now regret. Both of these guys can be aggressive and viscous in the ring as well as outside. Kane who is always psycho could potentially have met his mental match in Orton, remember back to his explosive rage disorder or something? The build up could be better, crazy vs crazy is how it should be built, plus that would help Orton get some intensity points, he's been a little mellow lately if you ask me and I know it's not his fault for the bad bookings. Neither are bad competitors and could put on a good match but I'd like a better build up.

I actually considered their mania match to be better then the entire card besides CM Punk vs Jericho and Taker vs HHH. It wasn't bad. This feud seems to only serve the purpose of keeping Orton out of the title run while Dbry and Sheamus figure out whos heel and whos face.

i actullay enjoyed their wrestlemania match and i assume this will be the end of this fued meaning randy orton picks up the victory and moves onto the next fued while kane probably wanders off into the sunset or maybe fueds with sheamus? either way might be a pretty good match fully expecting randy orton to walk out the winner here

I look forward to the match just because of the stip. Both guys are great brawlers and Orton's brawling skill is very underrated. I saw recently he even finished at #10 in last years Wrestling Obsever Awards for Best Brawler.

Their no dq matches on this just done UK tour got good reviews too from the reports Ive read from them. I just wish this wasnt the PG era as it could limit what they could do(as is the case w/ all the matches on this PPV). Oh yeah, please WWE get Orton back to the top of the card again after this match, hes done his work trying to get others over. Maybe turn him back heel and turn Bryan face(as the champ) and have them feud over the title.

As much of an Orton mark as I am I hope Kane wins, as if booked right it could benefit both men.

Kane wins cheaply, after Orton gives it his all. Kane could then feud with Sheamus or another guy.

Orton on the next show could go absolutely mental and turn into his 2010 tweener badass that he was. He could attack anyone of Big Johnnys stooges and as a result feud with Johnny, similarly to Punks feud with him. He could legitimise himself again and stay away from the title that bit longer so that when he does next go for gold people will be more interested in the feud.

The fact that this match will be a falls count anywhere match gives it the potential to be better than their Wrestlemania match. Kane needs the victory more than Orton. Yes, he just won at Wrestlemania. Another win would give him plenty of momentum though and Orton would not be as damaged by the loss as Kane would. Orton's a permanent main eventer in the long run, whereas Kane has been on a role since his return and this could help him break back into the main event for perhaps a third final world title run. I'm ok with either guy winning but I think it will be Kane since he needs it more. Kane wins and both guys move on to new feuds.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
Kane will defeat Randy Orton.

I'm expecting a very physical match with more brawling than move sequences. The falls count anywhere gimmick will probably be overused (I'm expecting something over-the-top) but it should still be an intense match with a good story. This could steal the #2 spot from Cena vs Brock (I'm positive that Punk vs Jericho will be the match of the night).
They have booked this feud well enough that either guy could win. I'm guessing Orton will win, sending Kane down to fight with Ryder and other mid card faces, but this one could go the other way, too. I'm hoping Kane will win and go on to win a third world title, but this seems less likely than the first possibility.

Should be a good match from these two guys -- I'm expecting a brawl throughout the arena, especially since the stipulation is falls count anywhere. The feud will, in all likelihood, end tomorrow night at Extreme Rules, though. As such, I fully expect Orton to walk away with his second straight one-on-one victory over Kane, and go on to something else. I don't really understand the argument for Kane going over Orton and moving onto the main event scene at all, really. If I had to guess, Alberto Del Rio will be Sheamus' next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship, so Kane wouldn't be able to jump into the feud anyway. He'd need a holdover feud, so it seems pretty counterintuitive. Orton should win.

All that being said, Orton won't really have much to do after this feud either. I'm thinking maybe something with Daniel Bryan, then moving on to the World Heavyweight Championship. Although, if Kane wins the match, I'm positive Randy Orton is heading to Raw in the draft. He may be the face of Smackdown, but I don't see him having too much left to do here. There aren't enough fresh feuds for Orton on Smackdown, so this match actually has a pretty big impact on where he goes from here.

I'm pretty sure Randy Orton comes out on top in this one.Although I would like Kane to pick up the win here I see it as highly unlikely and it looks like this is the end of the feud so most likely the face wins here.

I go in more detail on this match and my prediction in this video
