WWE Council of War

Maybe you're looking at it the wrong way. Instead of acting as if the audience doesn't know what "wrestling is all about", why not ask why they never chanted it at Hogan or Rock for example?

Ive gotten to the point were I have seen all the WMs, SummerSlams, and Survivor Series so many times that I dont really want to watch them anymore :(

I see your point, and semi-agree, but in many ways I think a lot of people will see someone's views on the internet and agree with them just to feel smart. Hell, I used to do that all the time.

This is why Cena hate has become such a large bandwagon.

So I was just thinking, I would actually kind of dig a Mark Henry title run, and yet I remember his ECW title run being very very gash.

Always been a fan of late 80s WWF. You have Hogan at the height of his powers and a legit heel that got the title off of him. The midcard was pretty solid stuff with Savage jumping up the card every night eh was out there and the Mega Powers eventually exploding. Great stuff.

id say 88 - 91 is probably my golden age as well, honestly. That was the era that made me a fan as a child. Hulkster, Macho, Demolition, The Hart Foundation, Ultimate Warrior, Jake The Snake. Hells yea.

Yeah. I remember going to Blockbuster and always renting stuff from 88-90. Summerslam 90 was the first tape I ever owned. Someone never returned Survivor Series 88 so I didn't see it in full until I was like 18.

When I was little, the video store by my grandparents house had a deal were you could get five movies for five dollars for five days.

We would go, and 3 or 4 out of the five would be wrestling videos for me, since it was discovered that they could get me to sit still and shut the fuck up for three hours.

Oddly, even as a small kid, I understood the concept of a timeline, IE things would make sense if I started at the smallest number and went up from there. So went with the 88s on up, Rumble, WM, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, etc. Think I was about seven when I started.

I've been a wrestling fan since before I can remember. I know for sure we bought Starrcade 91 because one of the earliest memories of my entire life is explaining Battlebowl to my uncle. My mom grew up watching Jerry Lawler and my grandmother even went to some very small local shows with her sisters. It's in my blood. My uncle is a comedian as you know and he made a movie which has some shots of my grandfather in it reading an old wrestling magazine. There was no escaping it for me.

Ill be honest, I dont really have a clue WHY I got started.

I remember the Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan toys came in a pack together, so when I saw the box for Halloween Havoc 93 had "HOGAN VS FLAIR IN A STEEL CAAAGGEEE" on it, I was like, well that must be the shit to watch!!

After that show (which had a wild Nasty Boys brawl as well, lulz) I started going back to the same video store and starting from the beginning. My second show was Royal Rumble 89. The one with the Rude - Warrior posedown, and the best 2 of 3 falls between Hart Foundation and Rogeaus.

Big John Studd won the rumble. The best of times.

I ran this tape until it died... literally. One of my favorite PPV's ever. The Body fucking owned on commentary during the Rude/Warrior posedown. Also, Haku and Harley Race, today, is a fucking dream match. Wish I had appreciated that match as much back then as I do now. Two legitimate badasses.

And how many times have you watched those shows since?

I know that stuff because I wrote 4-5 page reviews on each of them while in my 20s.
