Did Nash change your perspective on the whole "Fingerpoke of Doom" thing? He kind of sold the possibility that it wouldn't have been a horrible thing if it worked out like it should have.

Lol. I just watched the matches between Savio and some big German guy and Droz vs Hawk. Savio fucked big boy up but that second fight was embarrassing.

Brawl for All ruled, but it was a shitty idea business-wise because nobody wanted to see it and guys got legit injured from it. But from a fan's perspective, I loved it, we got to really see who was the toughest fuckers in the locker room, and we got a few INSANE knockouts out of the tournament by Bart Gunn and others. I remember Steve Williams and I think the Godfather both got seriously KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT and it was awesome.

The whole thing was made for Steve Williams to get over, but Bart Gunn shut that shit down. That's a rumor anyway.

Nah, not a rumor, that's the flat out truth. They hyped Steve up and brought him in like solely for that tournament, and Bart Gunn knocked his ass out like fuckin' Deebo in Friday. They tried bringing Dr. Death back later as a heel JR's enforcer in early 99 but that was obviously dumb as fuck and was ended quickly and he wound up going to WCW with Ed Ferrara as Oklahoma. Lol what a downhill slope it was for Steve after that Bart Gunn knockout. That really fucked up the rest of his career in the States.

Seeing Bart Gunn get knocked out by Butterbean is still one of the greatest things I have ever seen.

It was one of the first LEGIT things I ever saw in professional wrestling. I remember reviewing the tape over and over again just to see if Bart was THAT good of an actor and Butterbean didn't actually knock him out. I was SOOO fucking wrong and never happier to be wrong about something in my life.

Nate - They were pretty much the same but Patriot's theme was slightly different - sounds like a MIDI version of Angle's. And it also appears to have Christmas bells in it.
