WWE Christmas

TheBadGuy92

Undertaker, If that is ur real name
After watching that dreadful pre-raw sing along I legit considered stopping watching WWE all together (Keep in mind ive been watching since 97) how can you take any heel serious? How can you take any ongoing rivalry serious after watching that. The holiday season is supposed to bring people together, but not in the WWE universe... Anyone agree or am I just Bahh Humbug??

It's just fun for the sake of fun. If you're taking it that serious then maybe it's time to stop watching for a little bit. Give them one night to kind of goof off a little.

I was a thrown off by it. I knew it was gonna be xmas themed but jeez lets not make every thing look so staged. It didn't use to be so hard to suspend your belief while watching. That Santa angle, really? I could understand a segment or two but they went a little overboard with it.

I knew that someone somewhere someplace was going to bitch and moan and bitch and moan about today's RAW. It's one night you idiot, let everyone relax for one night would you? Mfw you'll stop watching WWE altogether cause of one goof off night. Yeah. One less autistic viewer the WWE will have then. It's Christmas time and hence, it was a Christmas themed RAW. If you always want seriousness in your life please go watch something else. I happened to love RAW today especially Del Rio vs Cena. Have a nice day, idiot.

I hate holiday wrestling shows. Cause of Wwe's warped view: "Bad guys can't win, cause it's supposed to be a happy time!". Gotta make the kiddies happy, even if it means misdirecting a storyline or push. Sigh.. But personally Raw wasn't bad, had some fun.

It was not "just a Christmas show" it was actually on Christmas. The IWC always talks about getting rid of "PG", they hit Santa with a car, the IWC complains. WWE can't win. THey had some fun on their Christmas Eve Show, so what. All faces won matches, it was a feel good show and it is what it should have been. Maybe if you would sit back and just watch the show and not try to analyze all of it, you may actually like it. You don't like it, stop watching or at least stop complaining

I have been watching wwe/wwf since the late 80's and its harder and harder to watch it these days.

Stone Cold stunnering santa back in the day was pretty good, but i guess overall christmas wrestling shows arent the best.

I understand the Christmas theme, maybe throw a tree in that bitch. But its just too much for the kiddies...Its getting harder and harder to adapt..Im not saying bring back the hell raising TV-14 attitude era Slober Knockers, just something to make me stay interested..

This is nothing new. The WWF came out with a music album with an accompanying music video that had faces and heels singing together. This was in the kayfabe era, but no one gave a shit. This was a Christmas episode and they had some fun. So to answer your question: you're just bah humbug.

I fully agree, this show was beyond anything I could struggle through. It sunk to depths of terrible in which I just sat back wondering what I was even watching, and why I continue to put it on each week.

The Christmas shows are never very good but I never expect them to be anymore. I kinda knew this week's Raw was just gonna be a filler . I don't expect anything big to happen on a Holiday themed show. It was just a bit of fun and a filler. I only watched parts of it but I`m sure when the new year begins the story lines will pick up again. I don`t really see a problem once in a while just having a filler show. I don`t think they even expect the same size audience for Holiday specials because there is so much else on tv, or others things to be doing. This was basically an attempt at a Raw totally for the kids, well except for Santa getting hit. It was what I expected and I didn`t really mind because I am in more of a Christmas mood then a wrestling mood today anyway. That`s my take on it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This episode of Raw was a joke.

I'm not saying they have to be 100% serious and go with storylines but creative just gave up. Wasting 8 minutes for Santa to get run over by ADR. Who the hell cares, and then make the entire night focus on just that.

I had some fun with the Cena match but this night should of just been taken off and have USA air episodes of NCIS or something.

The wrestlers didn't even care, they didn't sell moves nor did they even perform well. I would say probably the hardest workers tonight were Sheamus and the Big Show. Everybody else was just terrible, even worse than usual.

Really? This is new to you? It's an universal truth that Holiday themed shows suck and they suck bad.Yes,the Santa run over was horrible but it was for only one night.Cut WWE some slack. This show would get bad ratings anyway. So why should they advance important storylines? They had fun,and except the santa accident, the show was fun.

Here is what is bothering me with it and I will break it down point by point.
1. Is Alberto a face or a heel? Because it was like they were trying to make Alberto play a scrooge which he didn't want to be, but after seeing that I just don't know.
2.The Miracle of 31st St. Street fight? All I'm asking is did Vince Russo write this?I was sitting there having nightmarish flash back of the infamous Cole Miner match in WCW where the belt was hidden within one of four boxes, Booker T. should feel ashamed for not stepping up and calling the match rediculous to the WWE writers during the board meeting.
3.All night we had to hear is Santa going to make it in time for Christmas? Ok we got it he was ran over and this is PG, but for the love of god please don't shove the story down our throats because its Christmas. To me we were stuck with diatribe to suit the children of the world, who when they grow up in the year 2-3 years will not want to watch the product because of dribble like that.
I love the WWE I bled WWE during the Monday Night Wars, even when things were TV 14, and edgy but still slightly corny. I have sat through horrid things like Al Snow eating his dog pepper, Goldust dressing like a fetish transvestite, someone giving Marc Mero Tv time, and May Young popping out in places no one EVER wants to see, but quite honestly I thing it was so over the top they are going to have to superman save to not make the whole thing seem horrible, or scrap most storylines now, and hit the restart button because next week I don't think I can tune in.

Being a wrestling fan and watching since I was 5 way back in 92, even I know the Christmas episodes are usually corny, but this years was just awful. That said is was a Christmas episode and a few rivalries were plugged but that was about it. Okay with that because this was for the children, who are the future fans of this company and I won't stop watching over a holiday episode. Santa was a little overdone but I'm okay with the rest

Honestly, the only thing I really had a problem with for the Christmas episode was the sing-along at the start.

Like, I can get behind a silly angle like Santa got run over by Del Rio. It led to a pretty entertaining Miracle on 34th Street Fight match. The name of the game is Entertainment and if you weren't entertained by that then watch UFC because clearly you want something much more brutal and serious 100% of the time than what WWE will offer you.

I think the rest of the show was fine but the sing-along at the start was a little hard to watch. It wasn't just PG it was G ... perhaps I (for Infant). I think it did make it kind of hard to take anyone seriously after they clearly showed they are all willing to put a smile on and sing and laugh together with no signs of rivalry.

I think the whole episode would have been fine if it weren't for the sing-along at the start.

ive been watching wwe for about 15 years. lastnight was the first time i turned off raw. the whole singing was a bad way to start. and after 45 mins of everything being based around santa getting ''run over'' i was like ya no and just played some nhl13

:lmao:

You simpletons crack me up. Last night was EXACTLY what pro wrestling is all about. It is about entertaining fans (which it did), it is about being relevant in fans lives (which it was) and it is about good overcoming evil (which it did).

Those of you complaining about last night's Raw clearly don't understand professional wrestling. If you're threatening to quit watching because of last night, I ask that you carry through on your threat, and raise the IQ level of pro wrestling fans everywhere. Despite what all you testosterone laden fools think, pro wrestling isn't supposed to be "edgy". Pro wrestling is supposed to be entertaining, and whether it's an edgy or a campy style of entertainment, as long as it is entertaining, it has done its job.

And for fuck's sake, it was a Christmas episode. Christmas is for children, not pimply faced teenagers with a rage against the world. Grow up.

It's funny different people's perspectives on things. To be honest Raw was exactly what I expected it to be. I laughed my ass off when Del Rio ran over Santa Claus. The show entertained me far more than I thought it would. I can't believe people are trashing a Christmas episode of Raw this bad. Like some other posters have mentioned, Christmas is for kids. This show was lighthearted and fun. I think we are all starting to take our wrestling just a bit to seriously. I wouldn't want it to be like last night all the time, but I fully expected some silliness. We got a serious promo from Punk, and a few decent matches. Just a holiday episode guys, just a holiday episode.

I can't stand those who complain about the current WWE.

People bag WWE because it appeals to "children". So? I think it is good that it appeals to children, and so should you, and here are three reasons why:-

1) They are the future fans of the WWE. Everyone knows that if you want to get people hooked on something, you target the children. Cigarette companies, McDonald's and the Nazis did that. If you offer the children a family friendly product now, they will be more likely to stick with it, and keep WWE in business. Don't you people want WWE to keep going? You won't always follow it, (especially if you like some of the morons saying that they won't watch WWE again....until next week).

(Off-topic, the mentality of many wrestling fans threatening to quit is like this. I find it funny when someone will review a PPV, and say "I wasn't going to pay to see another WWE PPV, but I just happened to be on in a bar I walked past, and I just happened to walk into that bar, and it just happened to be on the TV, so I watched it. But I won't watch it again....), and then the next month they just happen to see it again. LOL!)

Here's an example of converting the young to watch edgier content later. I am a fan of Batman, the superhero. Now, when I was a kid, I was introduced to it by seeing the corny 60's TV series. This then got me interested, and when the films came out, I saw all of them (even "Batman & Robin", unfortunately). But if I hadn't being introduced to the lighter product (the cheesy TV series), then I may not have seen the movies either.

It is the same with WWE. Face it, most of you would not have watched WWE during the "Attitude Era" if you hadn't got hooked on it in the "Hulkamania" era, so getting you hooked as kids had you watch years later, just like it will the kids of today. WWE's future depends on it.

2) It's good business- I remember when I went to see the "A-Team" movie at the cinemas, I later heard that it was beaten at the box-office by "The Karate Kid", a remake of the 80's film (this one had Will Smith's son in it). Then there was a discussion on message boards about why, and someone pointed out something.'

Kids' movies always do good business, because you sell twice, maybe three times the amount of tickets. It works like this:- A child wants to see a film, but he can't drive, and doesn't have any money. So his parent has to take him, automatically meaning the sale of TWO tickets, not just one (a parent and a child). If another child or another parent comes, it increases the tickets sales accordingly.

I recently went to a WWE show, and I see heaps of children wearing John Cena hats, armbands and T-shirts (so that is three items per child, you do the maths). Imagine how many tickets WWE sell by appealing to children, plus merchandise. At this show I attended, a blank piece of paper with Cena and Punk's signature sold for $80-90 dollars. The guy in front of me bought his three kids one EACH! That is at least $240 spent on just three scraps of paper. With suckers like that, why wouldn't WWE milk it?

3. It is something you can do with your kids. You should welcome PG era WWE, because your children can watch it and enjoy it also. They would have loved the Christmas episode, and would even like some of the other things too (like Hornswoggle). You should applaud this, as it can have you bond with your children over your love of wrestling. When they are old enough, whip out your tapes of the "Attitude Era" when they are old enough to not be as influenced by it (or a new "Attitude Era" may have come their way by then). You shouldn't want your children exposed to "Attitude Era" programming when they are too young for it. If you do, why not just have them watch violent films, porn movies and play violent video games, all while they drink a beer? If you want your children to have a good role model, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin or the Rock aren't it. John Cena is (however, parents should be their children's true role models, but that is another argument). If you want your children to defy you, not obey you, swear and curse and treat women badly, then introduce little Jimmy or Jenny to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, to warp their values.

So, in the end, wrestling is about kids now. WWE knows the "Attitude" fans of yesteryear will more likely spend money on college tuition, marriage, children and mortgage than on PPV's and tickets, so they now focus on the young, who need their parents to pay for them. Christmas episodes cater to this, and the IWC needs to deal with it.

Raw was great! like most posters, I feel that you don't have to take WWE so serious. It reminded me of when I was a kid and WWF put out the music videos featuring heels and faces.

It's all just entertainment. If you take wrestling too serious, you're probably one of these poor kids who live vicariously through your favorite WWE star because you have nothing else going on in your life.
;)
Relax... It's fun family oriented entertainment.;)

Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

It is the same with WWE. Face it, most of you would not have watched WWE during the "Attitude Era" if you hadn't got hooked on it in the "Hulkamania" era, so getting you hooked as kids had you watch years later, just like it will the kids of today. WWE's future depends on it.

There is so much wrong in your post I don't have time to cover it all but I did want to touch on this.

Hulk Hogan was before my time, the first time I EVER say him wrestle was when he came back to WWE with the NWO. I still watched the Attitude Era, and I have been watching wrestling ever sense.

What got me hooked? Stone Cold, The Rock, E&C/Dudleys/Hardys, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and all of these guys taking part in some damn good stories that felt believable, like something normal guys would do. Normal guys are not going to run over Santa with a car or do a stupid "FOR SANTA" BS like Cena did last night. It's silly and really didn't appeal to anyone under the age of 5, and for the record my 7 and 5 year old nephews both watched it and commented on how stupid it is.

Child friendly product doesn't mean it has to be stupid, corny, and foolish. Children believe it or not still need a reasonable story that can make some sense not a grown adult acting like he's on some crusade because a guy in a santa costume got keyfabe hit with a car, and yes my nephews know, and understand, wrestling is scripted even at their age.

The issue is right now is that so many WWE superstars are acting in ways that simply don't make sense for their characters. Why isn't a "mexian aristocrat" who is suppose to be rich as hell not dropping money paying off for wins, protection, and really being a heelistic jackass? Why isn't the guy pegged as a "Celtic Warrior" that "loves to fight" being the brutal punishing no non-sense ass kicker he was suppose to be? I could go on but right now so many characters are being held back for various reasons, including but not limited to the PG programing.

Targeting the children is fine, if you do it right more power to ya, the problem is WWE has shown a complete and total lack of understanding in how to do it in the current generation and that is what is pissing us off.

There is so much wrong in your post I don't have time to cover it all but I did want to touch on this.

That funny, cause have you actually read & thought about the shit you posted here? there's some preeeety stupid shit here

Hulk Hogan was before my time, the first time I EVER say him wrestle was when he came back to WWE with the NWO. I still watched the Attitude Era, and I have been watching wrestling ever sense.

...and you call yourself a wrestling fan:disappointed:

What got me hooked? Stone Cold, The Rock, E&C/Dudleys/Hardys, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and all of these guys taking part in some damn good stories that felt believable, like something normal guys would do.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Really so you found the Ministry of Darkness, Mae Young giving birth to a hand, Val Venis getting his dick chopped off, or that they had vampires running around believable?

Normal guys are not going to run over Santa with a car or do a stupid "FOR SANTA" BS like Cena did last night.

But they're going to run over Stone Cold, Ken Shamrock, trap Triple H in a car lift him up with a giant forklift & drop him on his head, or beat the holy hell out of Rock, lock him in an ambulance & crash a Semi truck into it? yeah right, sounds like shit normal people would do to me:rolleyes:

It's silly and really didn't appeal to anyone under the age of 5,

I'm 32 yrs. old, & found to hilarious, then again I was expecting nothing more than some stupid light fun from a holiday episode of RAW because I'm not a fucking idiot.

and for the record my 7 and 5 year old nephews both watched it and commented on how stupid it is.

I was not aware your 7 & 5 yr. old nephews spoke for ever child in the world.

Child friendly product doesn't mean it has to be stupid, corny, and foolish.

It wasn't, it was just some good light entertaining fun.

Children believe it or not still need a reasonable story that can make some sense not a grown adult acting like he's on some crusade because a guy in a santa costume got keyfabe hit with a car, and yes my nephews know, and understand, wrestling is scripted even at their age.

You must absolutely despise like every Christmas movie ever made

Why isn't the guy pegged as a "Celtic Warrior" that "loves to fight" being the brutal punishing no non-sense ass kicker he was suppose to be?

He is, he's just doing it as a face now. Do you even watch?!
