To be honest, this is the first time since the Brand Extension that it has pretty evident that there isn't a lot of depth in the roster on Smackdown. The women's match is far from brilliant and the Tag tournament has only served to gift Heath Slater a contract. Outwith the talent on this card, who else is there?

I like the card and trust me, Clash of Champions will look way more watered down with all the shit RAW's been doing. However this is one solid card for a 2 hour PPV. About 3 hours? I don't know. 3 hours could really hurt the quality, bu we'll see.

I just hope WWE do not play it safe and by that I mean protect the champions with DQ results.

I realized that during the first episode of Smackdown Live when they had the entire roster around the ring and barely filled it up. My first thought was "Wow, that really IS all they have."

If nothing else, I hope Backlash is on the shorter side for everyone's sake. No way they can stretch what they have into an entertaining 3-hour show.

Orton's gonna win. No way he loses another match. Why should Bray win anyways?

Bray needs it more. Orton is at the point in his career where he take successive big loses and not have his status damaged. Bray hardly ever wins anything of significance despite being a over character and a potential main-eventer. Smackdown is in dire need of more stars who possess both of those qualities.

For goodness' sake, just throw Bray a bone here.

Word on the street is that Orton can't wrestle tonight due to not being cleared due to the Lesnar match. If that's true then DANG.

Shame if Orton misses it, was looking forward of him kicking Lame Wyatts ass.

Another word on the street is that AJ goes over. Would be a fine picture to see that tonight.

Assuming Orton is injured and unable to wrestle tonight, have to say that their bad luck with injuries continue on and I do wonder which of their plans for tonight will have to be changed to accomodate this latest mishap.

They...weren't able to determine that until TODAY?

According to the rumours I read, they were playing wait and see with regards to whether he would make it for tonight. An undisclosed injury as has been put thus far. Wyatt will be the big loser in all of this if something good isn't done for him, poor guy didn't even make it onto the SummerSlam card.

Pretty thin lineup to be sure. Looks to be a fairly weak event. Will be worth it though to see AJ Styles become WWE Champion. Surreal.

@hatehabsforever I'm not saying I woudn't like that, but why would Bray want to fight Samoa Joe? They've booked themselves to a corner. It will have to be Kane, so that Bray can have a win before finally facing Orton so no Joe. He can't lose hia debut..

I seriously don't know a way to make this PPV look a lot better on paper.

I just dont want to see Bray losing to anyone before his match with Orton, but I also want an exciting match.

I know that Kota Ibushi vs Bray Wyatt would be a sick fight. Even if it's for ah exhibition and Kota could take the fall to an heavyweight after showing all the heart in the world. After all that's been his gimmick since ever. He's also not under contract so who cares about his rep?

You know what would have been a good idea?

Putting the cruiserweights on Smackdown instead of the already bloated Raw.

Been saying this for weeks. They already got an extra pick every round at the draft to compensate and then the cruiserweights on top of that. Overkill is overkill, no matter how you slice it.

So Meltzer is reporting that it seems to be concussion related due to the Brock beating. Lesnar is now screwing up shows he's not even on and they're still going to push him to the freaking moon every single time.

Also SmackDown has Daniel Bryan as the General Manager. It just makes sense in all aspects. At least for now since SmackDown's roster REALLY needs more people.
