For those who've been following WWE 2k14 closely, can one of you tell me if there have been alterations and/or improvements to the core gameplay and mechanics of the game? I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy this one.

Not much of a source but it's the only signs of an answer to the universe mode question.

IIRC, counters are no longer into another grapple and instead into an offensive move and you can no longer spam running attacks. If that's what you mean.

Yep, that's what I want to know. Is that it? That sounds like steps in the right direction, but that's not enough. I might watch some gameplay videos to see if I notice any changes.

I think there's more but I cant remember. Look up SmackTalks on youtube. He posts news updates for 2k14 whenever he hears anything.

According to 2K's facebook page they will begin with the entrance and finisher videos on youtube on Tuesday. So now we have that to look forward to. Personally I'm happy with the roster reveal except for the fact we have useless people in Otunga and Khali on the game and yet Fandango and Curtis Axel didn't make it onto the game.

Plus the fact we're only getting AJ, Kaitlyn, Layla, Natayla and Askana to go with Lita and Steph for the divas portion. I personally would have taken Naomi and Cameron over Askana. Also surprised we don't have Trish Stratus on the game.

I don't understand Aksana being in the game at all. Even when she was around she didn't do much.
Usos were dlc last year so I thought they would for sure be in the game this year but no luck.
I'd like to have seen Tyson Kidd in it.
Overall I'm not bothered though. I doubt I'll use too many people off the main roster and the WM roster more than makes up for the people missing from the main roster.
I do agree on Trish though.
I think it would be cool if you could pick Liz and Bobby as managers in Universe mode. I don't see the point in making them in the game and not making them available. Kind of like Hurricane a few years ago when you could talk to him backstage in the Road to Wrestlemania mode but he wasn't available to use in the game.

I imagine we'll get Bobby, Liz and other managers (I expect Paul Bearer and Ricardo to be added soon) will be able to manage people like ricardo could this year.

Askana really is a useless addition. Why the hell they would leave out Fandango and Curtis Axel in favor of Otunga and Khali though makes zero sense.

There are a few surprises on the roster, but I fully expect to see Axel and Fandango as DLC as well as the Uso's and maybe RVD too.

Aksana, Otunga and Khali are useless additions.

For my universe mode I will be getting rid of quite a lot of this roster and replacing them with CAWs. I will be making these guys inactive:

Big John Studd, Brodus Clay, Tensai, Miz, Ryder, Khali, Otunga, Aksana, Slater, Mahal, Santino, Di Biase, Andre, Bundy, one of the HBK's (not sure which) one of the Jericho's (not sure which), modern day Rock, retro HHH, Andre, Hogan (will use Hollywood), modern Taker, retro Taker (I will use the Bad Ass version), modern Cena, retro Lesnar, both Big Shows.

Currently working on a list of CAWs I want to download to make the Universe.

I hope Razor/Diesel have Hall/Nash attires so I can form the nWo.

The list on WWE.Com is ALL fucked up. There are at least three people in the reveal IMAGES that arent on that list. Including Antonio Cesaro. and Eddie Guerrero.


I have no fucking idea who is actually on the roster.

Cesaro is in the game. The only big omissions are the Usos. David Otunga and Justin Gabriel have no business being in the game so it would have been easy to fit the Usos in.

Anyway, I don't see why people dislike the roster. We have Scott Hall, the NWA Ric Flair and also Goldberg; no more shitty CAWs for me. As far as the "why the heck are they on there" superstars, they can come in some use on Universe mode as the jobbers.

One question though, does anyone from the WWE have any input in this game or is it Take-Two completely?
