WTF? TNA just pulled a remake of the Montreal screw job!

i HATE Hulk Hogan. Just when the match was getting good, this shit had to be pulled. Tenay and Tazz didn't even do a good job of selling what happened. Even the crowd chanted "You screwed Bret."

After Angle threatening to go back to WWE, he'll be back next week.

I am supposed to believe that HOGAN AND BISH now how to make TNA #1 Pulling off another companies storyline !!!! You can't defend blatant copying and that unoriginal crap.

If TNA keeps this up, WWE will be producing.: The Rise and Fall of TNA aka The Hogan Era...

Hogan Maniacs please defend this one

Wow you guys are getting worked. You do know they are probably doing this to piss people off at not only AJ and Flair but to the smarks that already disliek them. And you bought into it. Of course they did it, because they knew it would at least get people talking. Vince does it and people think it's cute and ammusing but TNA does it and people go nuts.....go figure.

yeah they didn't sell it worth of crap they would of done better shutting there mouth and not saying nothing . I love TNA but the shit is getting confusing to watch. I wondered who came up with this idea Hogan, Bischoff, or Russo

Ummm....didn't stuff like this use to happen during the "War" area? Mocking the other companies story's and characters? They are trying to get WWE fans worked. Looks like it worked.

I am not getting worked. I see hogan isn't that intelligent to do this angle. It doesn't advance the TNA brand at all. And doing something just to get people talking doesn't help build the brand. Shock only can go so far. Sooner or later you will have to depend on quality original content.

Take a page from Vinny Mac - If you take from someone, make it better , more interesting, add something to it. Not do a remake then tell the world you are going to give them a new type of wrestling.

Yep, the difference is/was that Bret Hart was leaving and there was a reason for a screwjob to happen. This is just pathetically horrible booking. It's not like A.J. couldnt' win without this stuff. He beat Angle clean before he joined with Flair on 1/4. Now 2 straight screwy finishes and AJ looks so much worse as a result. Add to the comical effect of Kurt being so angry he's leaving and Foley being fired and both will return within a week or 2 and you have WCW 2000. I've really been trying to support this up and coming company, but it's WCW part 2 and I really can't. It's getting hard to watch.

Yea this was just bad, and showed really a lack of creative booking on TNA's part. If they wanted to get heat on AJ and Flair they could have done a million of different things. I normally I wouldn't have a problem with this but WWE just pulled another "screwjob" with Punk and Taker and with Hart coming back, it just looked really bad. But hope isn't gone hopefully they continue the arc. After like a week or so WWE kind of dropped the Punk/Taker screwjob, and let all of the momentum go away.

AJ doing the heel tactics are so that they can push him as a.........wait for it......HEEL! What a concept a bad guy doing bad things to get people to hate him. Holy shit he is doing his job. Stop being so damn internet smarky and enjoy the show as a fan. Is it too much to ask for people to get rid of reality for a moment and enjoy the show? We can do it for soap operas and tv shows but we can't do it for wrestling? Isnt that why we got into wrestling as kids? Do we look at tv shows and go "that's bs those two are good friends, why are they fighting on screen if they like each other in real life?" Takes away from the fun doesn't it?

TNA is getting pathetic doing a remake of wwe's montreal screwjob first no x-division match tonight now this

It's the beginning of an angle. But go ahead and shit on it before it ends. Jumping to conclusions is what WWE Universe fans who need to have everything spoonfed to them do. I hope they are just doing this to get rid of fans like you who are incapable of understanding the show.

i HATE Hulk Hogan. Just when the match was getting good, this shit had to be pulled. Tenay and Tazz didn't even do a good job of selling what happened. Even the crowd chanted "You screwed Bret."

The TNA crowd chants you screwed Bret at Hebner every week.

After Angle threatening to go back to WWE, he'll be back next week.

It's a work, and it seems to be working.

People just want to shit on TNA as much as possible. TNA is so much better to watch than Raw. It's not even close. Rep for you.

yeah they didn't sell it worth of crap they would of done better shutting there mouth and not saying nothing . I love TNA but the shit is getting confusing to watch. I wondered who came up with this idea Hogan, Bischoff, or Russo

They didn't sell it to act like they didn't know what was going on. They were just as confused as everyone else. They just can't say "What the fuck?" on TV.

Ummm....didn't stuff like this use to happen during the "War" area? Mocking the other companies story's and characters? They are trying to get WWE fans worked. Looks like it worked.

I like you.

I am not getting worked. I see hogan isn't that intelligent to do this angle.

I see you aren't too intelligent to make a complete sentence.

It doesn't advance the TNA brand at all.

Really? It isn't going to get people talking?

And doing something just to get people talking doesn't help build the brand. Shock only can go so far. Sooner or later you will have to depend on quality original content.

This is stupid. TNA rebooted. They started over. Getting people talking gets people watching. Then you hook them. All of this shock value shit you are whining about has their rating up 20%, so they are doing something right.

And, they are so obviously smarter than you that it's not funny.

Take a page from Vinny Mac - If you take from someone, make it better , more interesting, add something to it.

Like making a screwjob ending the beginning of an angle instead of the end?

Not do a remake then tell the world you are going to give them a new type of wrestling.

It's not a remake. TNA is for intelligent people. Not for you.

Very sad. It was lame without the spit, the spit was the icing, I pretty much feel like never watching again. Doing an exact copy...I mean, the Montreal incident had real anger, it was weird but cool seeing the entertainment aspect mix in with the real/behind the scenes part.

Having this turn into 'WWE rejects' was bad enough, but if they're going with these angles then I'm done. This should be an outlet for people who think WWE is lame, if you like this sort of stuff then you'll stick with the company with the muscle and the spotlight who perfected this crap.

I need to see what they are doing here TNA better have something good coming out of this. I think they are setting up a Foley/ Jarret/ Angle VS. Hogan and the band power struggle type fude. even so lazy writing. TNA has the talent in ring to compete with WWE, but there writing awful that is where they need change the most.

All you people that are saying how "shitty" and "lame" of an angle it is are plain ******ed. You don't even realize that you are the ones getting played. They got you exactly where they want you. Think about it, not only did you tune in, but you got right on here and started talking about it. lol.. and you call yourself "smarks"

EDIT:

I just had an idea. You all should have a TNA party like the old school Nitro partys and you can all complain together. That way you all have someone that actually wants to listen to you so we don't have to.

Because the WWE have never used stars of the past and only make new guys. They also are known for being original and never use the same storylines are similar events....EVER! Did you still watch after they did the exact same thing a year later with Rock/Foley? Did you still watch after the Taker & Punk did it a few months back? So why is it ok when WWe does it but when TNA does it it's lazy booking and pathetic? Being a bit hypocritical aren't we?

TNA is for intelligent people. Not for you.

Really? Listen, I've been being patient. I'm not one of these new viewers since 1/4. I've been trying to get into TNA for a couple of years now and it's only gotten worse since Hogoff has come in. This is just a small example of how bad the show was as a whole today. Like I said, it reminded me of WCW 2000. These are shows for people with short attention spans and short term memory loss. Very little makes sense at this point and if you read the spoilers, it's not going to improve over the next couple of weeks. I will gladly debate with you any point you would like, but I gotta hear from you what exactly was wonderful about tonight's show and specifically, why it's a good idea to take a guy who was beating the best opponent he had (Angle) clean and make it like he needs to cheat to win now? It's ok to use dirty tactics IN the match like low blows to show the connection to Flair, but the kid needs to win by being better and showboat that fact. Please, justify this and sell me on why I should continue to watch TNA.

Honestly, WWE is pure shit now.

Once again, this is the beginning of something.

I think TNA splits into four factions, one back Hogan, Jarret, Flair, and Foley. We are going to get stable wars and a massive power struggle. The heels and faces will depend solely on who you want to win the show.

The last ten minutes of Impact! were solely to give us the impression that Hogan and Bischoff have lost control already. Next week, JJ, Foley, and Flair will be fighting to fill the supposed power vacuum.

So, pissing off a loyal fanbase and overall probably any average wrestling fan should be part of the idea?

I'm not even a TNA fan, I gave it a shot on the 4th and in a way I liked a lot of what I've seen but there are so many cringe moments.

Anyway, even if it is just the start of an awesome power struggle storyline, why couldn't they do something else? I mean something less we've seen it before? Just a bit of a new flare? It's even been done so many times kayfabe as well.. so seriously.

This was a total disappointment for me and, as for the whole Hogan/Bischoff angle going on, I'm just upset but who am I if not an "ugly normal person"? I sincerely don't think the "old wave" is the new wave! Screw Hogan AND Angle and let AJ take on over and show his "Flair side". He DID build TNA and this is the house that AJ Styles built!

TNA did this to simply get people talking and to push Styles and Flair as heels. If you don't understand that, then you probably shouldn't even be watching wrestling in the first place. Fans are going to be talking about this, new fans will tune in, then TNA will hook them. It is how new fans are created. Was the ending 100% original? Hell no. Does it help push Styles and Flair as heels? Yes it does. Does it get fans talking? Especially since Hart just recently returned to WWE? Yes it does. Will this get new fans to tune in once they hear about it? Yes it will. It's really not that difficult to understand.

Yeah, I think the posters here who are getting all upset about this being a "rip off" of the Montreal Screwjob need to chill out a little bit and see the big picture. The whole point of this segment tonight was to build sympathy for Kurt Angle and to build heel heat for Ric Flair and A.J. Styles. What better way to piss off the fans and build heat then to recreate one of the most infamous moments in wrestling history while taking a little jab at the WWE.

Just let it go and watch and see where this angle is going before you completely write TNA off for recreating something. I mean it is not like the WWE has never tried to recreate anything.....NWO, Goldberg, ECW.

first, i have to say ive been a wrestling fan for over 20 years. mostly wwe and an occasional wcw fan(due to certain "stars") i watched an entire episode of tna for the first time ever tonight and here is my observations.
1) its kinda nice to see some faces that wwe underused(elijah burke and orlando jordan)
2)after the whole devon welcome back to pro wrestling remark, it feels likethe whole invasion storyline to me.
3)im actually starting to get interested in some new characters
4)and finally for now, i think it was disgraceful to use the real life issue in montreal as a b.s. storyline. that was all russo and if kurt was to leave(which ive heard he was really thinking about it) id think they would have bleeped out him saying wwe. alot of people dont care for hogans backstage politics and angle and foly might actually leave the company soon.
( and also digging the 4 sided ring, never cared for the 6 sides

I hope they are just doing this to get rid of fans like you who are incapable of understanding the show.

Yeah, I'm sure 'getting rid of fans' is on TNA's priority list. People are too dumb to understand? You're really going to use the 'Sopranos finale' defense for this? Are you 12?

What's hard to understand? They think it creates buzz and is clever and funny. Instead it's going to get people talking for the wrong reason. It reeks of WCW on it's way down. This isn't inserting 'Gillberg' into your story line for laughs, this is their main storyline. An exact copy (except much lamer when you consider the terrible acting and reacting by the crew when it was clear what was going on seconds after the bell rang)

First of all this was the highlight of the night in my opinion. Yes, it was stolen straight from the WWE, yes it was a bit cheesy - but it was entertaining and I loved it!

Excuse me, didn't WWE steal WCW's idea of having a cocky rebellious anti-establishment group? nWo anyone? DX anyone?

Don't act like this is a shitty move, it's genius. Hogan wants to piss Vince off. First it was the announcement in MSG now this.

THANK YOU HOGAN AND BISCHOFF FOR THE GREAT IMPACT!

Wow guy. Did you just say that... Tell me you did not just say THAT. If TNA wants to get AJ over as a heel, why not try to write something that can be his own and not doing so cheap knock off of an actual scandal from over 10 years ago. Jesus:banghead:
